DangerFox Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Ibrahimovic is available. No transfer fee, big wages though. Worth a year possibly two?? He'd definitely add something. Dreaming though I suppose! !
Rincewind Posted 19 March 2016 Posted 19 March 2016 Situations aren't comparable, Steve G not at retirement age totti, I think it's safe to say, is more than there. Plus he's not the kind of player who fits in this side even in his prime never mind now he's 40 odd If he is over 40 then no. Do we need more coaches? We do need covering players and quality ones but there is no need to spend 20 mill plus. The wage bill will soar anyway as will asking price for players. Spending big has not done Maure much good or Chelsea this season.

Dreaming though I suppose! ! Anyone we get must buy into our philosophy , they can't feel they deserve to be put above everyone else... if he is fine being part of a team and not the team then yes

WesMorganGod Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Sure, why not, he is old but he is so talented and has had a wonderful career. He would come into a team with huge spirit and that could make him hungry to perform well
ScouseFox Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 an absolute hero of post millennium football but no, please no. as amazing as it would be, he should be a one club man a roma legend and he's gone now. if he's barely getting on the pitch for italy's 3rd/4th/5th team, he's not getting anywhere near it for england's first. come on.
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 If he was 5 years younger, would say it would be a good move. Bit at this stage in his career he can't really get much game time and even if he does play will he buy into our style of play... Can't see him putting in a shift like shinji, kante or drinky do... So a lot of the time he would have to be carried... Only thing I can see is if he comes as a player/coach sort of role and plays 20 minutes here and there is a few CL games...and even then if he is 100% serious and dedicated to his duties. Would much rather have some hard working atletico Madrid players... They have shown great self beleif in defying odds in la liga against the biggest juggernauts of all.
Callabinho Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 It's a total none starter, possibly down to his agent due to his big fall out at the moment....plus Claudio benched him during his tenure in Rome.
mozartfox Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Too old and too expensive. I am sure the coaching staff have their wish list of new arrivals. Needs to be some shipping out done too
desertfox2 Posted 20 March 2016 Posted 20 March 2016 Let's just sign Pele and be done with it. Or Maradona. 40 no chance..... If he wants a coaching role fair enough.
ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 Totti is a legend but I'm sorry, he is too old. I actually hope he just retires as a 1 club man.
Freesolo Posted 21 March 2016 Posted 21 March 2016 He is a Roma legend but I don't think he fits our style of play at all. We definitely need another striker though someone who is hungry with great work ethic and pace to burn
Sionnach gorm Posted 22 March 2016 Author Posted 22 March 2016 I think you're all gone in the head...but the fans have spoken. Personally i think he's a bit of a buffer, but he's got talent and when he's in and on, he's a game changer. He's still a real mule. Perfect for our lads...and the CL.
Foxhateram Posted 22 March 2016 Posted 22 March 2016 No! I don't want us to go get players with 'experience' we've been there before and it didn't work out. I want us to continue to build on our young hungry squad with more young hungry talent that wants to continue improving and proving people wrong. We play fast counter attacking football, I don't want to see anyone short on pace anywhere near this team.

Completely different class. Even just having him in the dressing room would be invaluable.

Even just having him in the dressing room would be invaluable. Cambiasso didn't add that much in all honesty, no where near as good as drinky and Kante have been this year. Would an experienced head do the high pressure closing game that we play? I don't think so. We also rely heavily on pace, especially up top. Can't see this man putting in the sorts of shifts vardy, okazaki and mahrez put in. Can you?

As for saying "Cambiasso didn't add that much", he won player of the year FFS. To say that based on the fact two other players have been absolutely outstanding this year is lunacy. I don't want Totti, 40 is just ridiculous. We need younger Strikers and CB's without question next year as both departments are already aging.
