Vardy and Drinkwater on the bench tomorrow

Only thing that's let us down is the finishing, the pressing and the speed of break has been impressive but the final ball at times then the shot hasn't been up to standard.

Lothar Mattahaus in the studio. What a player he was. 150 caps, five world cups, FIFA World POTY winner - incredible.

I thought Kane looked good

I don't get it either drinkwater is much better

Really? I've seen him foul about 4 times, fluff up 2 crosses and misplace countless passes.

As for the rest of that performance. We have no midfield presence at all. Their goal came from a player strolling through the middle. So so poor. Alli has tried to add some spark but as per usual our final ball has been poor. That's what you get from lallana and henderson, as we've seen many times before. Overall we've not worked the keeper and conceded 2 goals (the first was onside). Yer great performance that woy!

yes we have. until butland went mental we'd had one and germany had had one.

anyone who doesn't think that was a pretty good performance, away at the world champions is ridiculous. it's not surprising, we could be 4-0 up away and people would still say "oh dat henderson pass wot shit". that was a very good half compared to what i expected. we've looked much more threatening than germany (the world champions) in germany. yes we're 1-0 down, unluckily, but that's not too important in a friendly, it's the performances. and this one's been tidy.

Can't see it Scouser. They've scored two legitimate goals to our nil. Our build up play is too pedestrian and Kane, a player who is scoring for fun in the Prem, hasn't had a sniff.

I think we look exactly what we are under Woy. A bang average side at the top level. Theres no pace or final incision. I so hope you don't fall foul of the thing that so many England pundits seem to do...actually say we are better than we are.

I'm looking forward to a quicker, more incisI've second half, with chances and shots on goal.

Why are people so negative about England on this forum? We went 100% in qualifying and seem to have a vibrant young squad with a couple of Leicester City lads in it.

Either get behind the lads or watch something else You moaning ****ers the voice on bbc1 should be right up ur street.

Leicester and England till I die.

I kind of agree but it's hard to get behind England when what you actually want is Kane, Deli Ali, Dier and Rose to all pick up injuries.

Yawn.......I'm telling you, Vardy & Drinky will not go to the Euro's. Woy will pick his usual favourites. Watching England is dire. Where is the passion, excitement and drive?

We don't look to bad going forward but defensively we will get punished against any decent teams

He will if we win the league, it's a lock.

you've spent your whole life pretending not to be english even though you are, we could win the world cup and you'd still pick faults that aren't there so i'm not really arsed.

If this was offered up in the euros, no cutting edge and just a bit of territory followed by a wild blast, would you be happy? This isn't picking faults that aren't there, this is watching and wondering how being in good positions and doing absolutely nothing with them is considered a good performance - expectations must have fallen into a chasm.

Agree. The pressing is good and we've matched them in that. If we had a more progressive flexible manager this squad could do well but we got a dinosaur in charge. A good manager could take this decent side and take them up a level or two.

Lee Dixon

'Eric Dier has been excellent!!!'

Guy has barely done anything lol

According to whoscored, Eric Dier has made 2 tackles and 1 interception . Incredible Jeff!

Same here , I want us to do well... people seem to just want us to fail. We have the makings of a good young side here that can surprise a few, it is the best team of players I have seen come through for years. I will always support England whether we are complete trash or great. I remember the 90's and we were so unlucky not to win a major tournament then, we had a truly great team.

Because a lot of people have fallen for that qualifying crap before to be ultimately disappointed. Remember some of the teams we qualified against had part time dentists in goal.

We will get to the tournament, bottle it and come home in disgrace with inevitable qualifiers starting the process all over again in the September.

I actuallly think the Spurs guys have done well.

Clyne is playing shit and was one of the 4 or so players who gave Kroos all the time in the world to shoot.

Alli and Dier done well. Rose OK. Kane hasn't really had a sniff.

We all want us to do well. Some of us just don't big us up to something we don't look like. Let's have a more exciting half with some shots on target. That would be a start.

If you had more tactical sense. England do have some good players, but you continue to waste them by playing a system designed for Rooney. This type of build up (slow and methodical, waiting for spaces that won't appear) is what's typified Rooneys game, and with him out it's a perfect chance to try out the fast, direct players. But it's remained a slow midfield/attack with only Alli trying to do something.

It's nothing to do about not being behind the team.

Since Woy has taken over he has drained all enthusiasm out of the side and supporters.

We potentially have such an exiting side with skill, speed and desire yet we consistently play such a dull style of football.

Players have been chosen for the performances they have been showing week in week out yet he decides to go with Welbeck, Cahill, Henderson, Lallana who have either been part players, average performances or just came back from injury (granted its a friendly and players will be rotated but personally feel he has gone with what he is looking for in the euros)

Yes we have a 100% record in qualifiers but realistically we should of came out of the qualifiers with little slip ups but with going into the euros you will expect them to raise their game and be bringing a lot more which doesn't look/seem that way currently (and all of this is without Wooney who will make the euro squad no matter what his condition)

Totally right. Some passion, drive and desire is desperately needed

I'm sure at least Vardy will go, but won't play much I'd guess.

absolutely this.

if leicester had played this exact half away at a top team we'd all be pleased that we put in such a promising half. because it's england we have to say how "shit" we are.

happy to concede possession in pointless areas, press high and together to win it back as often as possible, get as many men forward as we can to each attack and despite having a lot less of the ball have much more territory and good positions and opportunities. sounds familiar...

I'd love to get right behind my home nation England, but in my life time we've only really had 2 good tournaments, Italia 90 and Euro 96, jeez the singles released since have been far better!

Not quite as familiar as you'd want though - We don't get to the good territory then just kick it randomly, we see an opening and hit it. That's the difference between city and england, and why city are actually worth watching; because we're incisive. England are just a blunt weapon. Functional but no cutting edge.
