Sunday Times To Reveal Doping Scandal

Recommended Posts

Bonar strikes me as a man who knows his career is over after being caught lying to his dying patients. He's doing this for the money. We know for a fact he's willing to tell awful lies so there's every chance this whole thing is a complete fabrication.

By putting this on the front page and naming clubs the Sunday Times are doing their credibility no long term favours. Especially not when they put it next to a story about a 'heatwave' when it's about 12C.

I agree with all of this and standards at the Sunday Times aren't what they used to be.

Sky haven't reported it. They publish any old bollocks which says a lot about this BS

Top story on the Sky News App

Widely reported now but still a pretty flaky story at the moment

Disagree.

See the journalistic achievements I listed in my previous post. If anything, the Sunday Times has spent the last year enhancing its reputation for investigative journalism.

Only blinkered Murdoch haters would contend otherwise.

Be that as it may, you'd surely concede that unless there is some as yet unreleased substantiation behind Bonar's comments (and why would they not release that if they have it?), these claims are very flimsy.

To believe them you have to believe the word of a man who has been caught lying to a dying patient in order to extract money from them, and whose career as a doctor is presumably over at the age of 38 with all the potential need for 'one last paycheck' that may entail. I'm quite sure he has been paid handsomely for telling this story.

You really think this bloke would make up 4 clubs he mentioned? In my opinion this story is true. He's not going to just make it all up. If it was made up then im pretty sure he wouldn't mention Birmingham City. He would have said man United or someone

He is a c@nt who takes money off dying people with false hope

The whole thing is bullshite

Totally crap !

The doctor in question is Dr. Mark Bonar, who - according to a Daily Mail story in December of last year - kept a dying patient in the dark about her terminal cancer so he could continue charging her for 'unconventional' nutrition treatment.

It was alleged at a hearing in Manchester around this time that Bonar should have allowed the woman to undergo end-of-life care, but instead offered false hope of recovery via a form of potentially dangerous intravenous feeding.

Bonar charges £150 for 15-minute appointments, and it was alleged at this hearing that he told the American woman she was not eligible for NHS treatment.

When nurses discovered how critically ill the patient was, they attempted to treat her correctly, but she died two months later.

Charles Garside QC, Counsel for the General Medical Council at the time, said:

The reality of it is that she was badly ill and wasn't getting the treatment she needed.

Bonar vehemently denied these claims, but they're certainly worth bearing in mind

The guy was chatting shit

Time he got banged !

This such an NON story , bullshiting crook of a doctor

The fact that people are signing up to FT like this gdl melt just to try and get the dirt from us and stir speculation is just sad. No doubt the slime balls at the Sunday times are checking this ready to quote people off here.... tomorrows headline "LEICESTER FANS TURN AGAINST THEIR PLAYERS"

That's another thing that makes me sure this is all a lie. The naming of Leicester is just too perfect. What could be more 'juicy' to a journalist than our "greatest football story of all time" being explained by illicit doping.

If you're trying to maximise believability of this story you'd name a couple of London clubs, because that makes sense given Bonar is based in London, then you'd throw in a random decoy like say Birmingham City. To maximum the impact of the story, by far and away the most perfect club to mention right now would be Leicester. And it just so happens that it's us.

I think people need to stop being quite so vehement that there's no story here at all.  It wouldn't be headline news across all media platforms if it was all made up.

There's clearly substance (no pun intended) to the allegations that this man's claimed to have been involved with the distribution of illegal performance enhancement substances, it's just a question of how severe the reality is and if it's true which players are involved.

Obviously it would be a huge disappointment to learn one of our players was somehow caught up in this but for reasons I gave on the previous page I think it's unlikely that's really the case.  Our lads have probably been touted to seal the deal so to speak - if he can get this client to believe he's in part responsible for the biggest sporting achievement of the year that can only be good for business.

We should put up banners

"We do tons of drugs so our players don't have to"

"Our blue army lives on Bolivian Marching Powder"

Picture of Barny "we are filthy dirty fans , so our players can live clean"

"**** off sky , with your phony manipulation of our sport"

I will say I have stuck up for sky in past but this story is a desperate attempt by Murdock to try wobble our March to glory

I can only assume that in the unlikely scenario of a Leicester player being involved that the club will know who, or at least will before kick off today? I'd expect any individual(s) involved to be omitted from the team today if it happens to be any of the usual suspects. If not, I won't worry myself. I can't fathom how they wouldn't know, though? Surely the physios at the absolute minimum would be aware.

Had enough of these drugs rumours trying to leave us in a meth. We just need to crack on, inject some speed back into our title challenge and weed it out so we finish sky high.

PLEASE SHARE: WHY THE LEICESTER CITY PLAYERS DOPING STORY DOESN'T AFFECT OUR SEASON AND IS A LOAD OF SHITE

Tomorrow, Leicester City players will be implicated in a British sport doping scandal but here are 5 reasons why it's bullshit...

1. Dr Mark Bonar is a disgraced doctor and attention seeker - he cannot be trusted. Headline from December 2015: "Doctor Mark Bonar kept dying patient in the dark about her terminal cancer and told her she'd have to wait for NHS treatment so he could keep charging her for unconventional nutrition therapy"

2. The Sunday Times article says: "The Sunday Times has no independent evidence that the doctor treated the players and there is no evidence the clubs were aware of the doctor's relationship with the players or drug use by them." - End of.

3. The allegations are from a few years ago - not this season - so it's irrelevant to this year's amazing performance.

4. There were NO performance enhancing drugs as he is said to have treated Birmingham City players and they are worse than Aston ****ing Villa.

5. It's in The Sunday Times - a newspaper owned by Rupert Murdoch. A company that hacks phones of murdered children to get news stories and shits all over football fans (Hillsborough - The Sun). Don't trust that shit.

Are you mental ?

Adam Johnston was a pedo and played

You expect us to drop someone if they just so happens to have met and got some supplements off a quack ?

Cop yourself on please

I suspect we have be the most tested team in the history of the league

NO One at are club is doping

All the drugs alleged here are testable and routine tests at that

The only thing that concerns me slightly is this - remember when Pearson got sacked in the summer. His daughter tweeted something in the early morning about us being a corrupt club.

She later deleted the tweet.

Obviously she could have meant anything and was most likely just being bitter but just thought I would mention it anyway!

Hahahahahah so her dad, the manager, didn't know it was happening but she did? Hahahahahahah

Real simple question but has any of our players past or present been named by the times?

If not and the names are coming from Twitter bollocks accounts then nothing to worry about

Absolutely. The substance of these allegations has yet to be tested.

But I was responding to someone who tried to dismiss the story because it came from the Sunday Times, which is different.

That comes on top of people, ludicrously, suggesting that the release of this story is some Murdoch inspired conspiracy.

No names, the Sunday times refused to name as they've not got any independent evidence and naming would open them up to the mother of all libel suits. All the names out at the moment are the junk of twitter trying to make themselves look ITK

I agree with you and hence I'm surprised that they have released such a story off one person's 'word'. The investigation tactic used here is no different to the Fake Sheikh of News of The World.

The story constantly states we have no independent evidence. Therefore it's odd a newspaper what prides itself on the example of Armstrong have released something of this relatively filmsy 'proof'

If they were trying to stitch us up and I'm not saying they are it is exactly hat they would do so it don't look to obvious

Interesting, so first Murdoch somehow manages to get all of our remaining games moved to a Sunday - like he owns an organisation with more power than the FA and premier league.

Then by somehow manages to manipulate the media into releasing a story every Sunday morning. Like he as one man has all the power over all media channels globally.

Then to cover his tracks he mentions other teams, knowing they have already played and won't affect their season, but avoids being accused of an anti Leicester press.

Could one man really have that much power???

Oh wait...

Zero substance. No players

Kind of ridiculous really as nothing is substantiated

That he's made these claims is substantiated by video evidence.  That alone makes good copy even if it turns out he made it all up and this is his first attempt to flog performance enhancing drugs which seems just as unlikely as our lads being involved and would be very unfortunate timing by Mr Boner.
