At halftime during the Liverpool v Tottenham game, a series of tweets started doing the rounds from journalists at the leading British broadsheet. Without giving out too much information, the Sunday Times wetted the beaks of football fans by aanouncing a new doping scandal involving Premier League footballers. Jonathan Calvert, the Insight Editor for The Sunday Times, wrote: The #dopingscandal has widened to include Premier League footballers. Other posts from his colleagues included: British sport’s dirty secret. Exclusive #dopingscandal revelations in tomorrow’s @thesundaytimes. Investigation reveals 150 sportsmen have been prescribed performance enhancing drugs (front page) #dopingscandal So which Premier League teams and players are involved? Leicester, who are top of the EPL against all the odds, were one team spewed out by guessing football fans. Chelsea, after their appalling season as reigning champs, were anther team thrown into the mix. Obviously, we have no idea which clubs and players are involved at this stage.
