Troy Deeney on Leicester

I love projection, me.

Sigh.  Ok, everyone's perfectly serious when they say Troy's trying to get a move and you're the only one smart enough to call us out on it.  Meanwhile I'm getting really grumpy at people having a bit of a laugh.   Thanks for putting me straight.

It puts a lot of the so called 'professional' pundits to shame , great analysis,, interesting read , especially as he has first hand experience playing against this team

Definitely, makes him far more qualified to be taken seriously than some grumpy old former players from 'big' teams who haven't won the Premier League.

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend and season.

Him and Barton put some of the frankly horrendous pundits like Mills to shame.

Who actually "loathed" him?

I imagine people were bitter for a few months after the play-off goal but what has he done to deserve loathing?

He's a good, honest, English pro.

I'll admit I was never fond of him after reading of his assault conviction (kicked a downed man in the head during a brawl, left a very sour taste reading the details) - had nothing to do with the playoff semi. However I've learned many things this season, forgiveness is just one of them. Deeney is a very able striker and seems a sensible bloke too, we could do a lot worse than go in for him in the summer

A great and insightful article. He clearly understands the journey we have been on having done it himself with Watford. He knows how difficult it is to turn adversity into success.

through hard work and dedication  to do what we've done and for ordinary players to be rewrite footballing history.

Great credit to him and our players.

Excellent analysis from Deeney - very perceptive, including his reference to "not knowing where they're coming from". It's a significant feature.

Vardy almost sneaked in for a goal by intercepting  a back pass against Southampton - after "hiding" behind a defender. There were other examples too from people like Kante. The times our players hide in the shadows and wait for the moment to challenge is an education ...and so effective.

I'm not just impressed by the "clean sheets" we're totting up but how severely we're restricting opposition chances. Southampton only had one real opportunity and, even then, Simpson's determination to cover Kasper was outstanding There was never even a hint of his giving up.

I say something nice about Leicester everyday, how come nobody wants the club to sign me up?

I've heard you were a donkey in front of goal.

Worse than Akinbadbyi.

Plot twist brighton get promoted and play us on the final day for their safety. Last minute knockaert dives for a pen takes it misses it we go up the other end and deeney scores

We should be eternally grateful to Deeney.

That playoff defeat was the catalyst for the spine of the team to be inspired and improve individually and collectively. Not to mention moulding the character and creating such a tight dressing room.

Kasper, Drinkwater, King, Morgan, Vardy, Schluup (De Laet, Nuge and James also).

People say 'well if Leicester can top the table, we can'. I don't think that's true.

We have the perfect storm of a great dressing room, great manager, experiences of massive winless runs, controversy, adversity (in terms of bad refs last season), Championship winning experience, fantastic recruitment policy, top class groundsmen, facilities and sports science department.

It's all part of the reason we are where we are, other smaller clubs like Palace and Southampton don't have all these aspects to draw on like we do.

Deeney is one of the only strikers i've seen that gives Morgan a real physical battle.

I doubt he'd leave Watford but if it was possible, I certainly wouldnt complain at having him here.

I've always liked him top player and was very gracious towards us as a club and fans after 'that' goal.

I remember when we were after him when we first got promoted and people were laughing at the 10 mil bid saying he was a downgrade on what we already have and that they wouldn't want a nasty thug playing for us. Shows how clueless lots of people are on here. It is scary how well he would fit us in terms of playing style and his personality.

Rondon bullied Morgan.
