LCFC POTY voting now open

Recommended Posts

There's a chance the PFA Premier League POTY this year will only finish 3rd in the Leicester POTY. That in itself is insane.

That just shows the difference between the Leicester fans who watch every minute of every game and the people who sit at home watching "Highlights" on MOTD and reading stats on the internet

Went with this, picking between Kante, Vardy and Mahrez for POTS was really hard. I hope this poll doesn't get hijacked by Mahrez fanboys...

Could easily go to Kante, Vardy, Mahrez or Morgan in my opinion.

I've based my vote on consistency, therefore due to Mahrez having too many off games I don't think he deserves it.

Exactly, Kante is unreal every game, and I think if we lost him it would have more of an impact than losing the others so it has to be him imo.

My votes:

YPOTS- Jeff Schlupp. If you're looking at the impact of the players in the list, he's made the most. That's not to say Gray and Amartey aren't fantastic players, they just haven't had the same opportunities.

GOTS- Mahrez V Man City. Took out nearly a third of their team and bamboozled Hart. Great goal.

POTS- Kante. It's become comical just how unreal his tackling and tracking ability is.

What I think it'll be:

YPOTS- Jeff Schlupp

GOTS- Vardy V Liverpool

POTS- Mahrez

Young Player: Schlupp

Player: Kante

Goal: Vardy vs. Liverpool

There is a theme developing here....!

Can't argue with 50% of foxestalk...

If you're not voting Vardy vs Liverpool then you need your head fixing.

I was having an argument with my mate about this today. I think Mahrez v Man City is a better goal. The build up and finish is something only a top class player can do. While Vardy's was good, I could have scored that on a lucky day. He just saw the keeper off his line and smashed it.

Anyway

Young player of the year - Schlupp (by default)

Player of the year - Vardy

Goal of the year - Vardy v Liverpool

The fact that we're voting for Schlupp for the young player of the year shows the average age of our team. Gray came in January and Schlupp missed about 3 months of the season.

Kante is unreal and I genuinely feel its a coin toss between him and Vardy. I'm going for Vardy because without him we'd never be able to play the way we do. 22 goals and 6 assists. Mahrez for me drifts in and out of games. Crucial match winning goals, most of them away from home, shows he's a big player for us but had we lost Mahrez for the next 2 games there wouldn't be this fear and paranoia that others now amongst Leicester fans.

Young player: Chilwell

Player of the year: Kante

Goal of the year: Ulloa vs Norwich at home.... Just because of how crucial it was.

Young player- Gray

Player of the year- Kante

Goal of the year- Vardy vs Man Utd for its significance

I picked Kante in the end because Mahrez can go missing and Vardy had a quiet spell where he was not himself in Jan (not his fault as his operation has held him back I think) but Kante is just so so so so so so so consistent.  I also feel Kante holds the key to how we play- he screens for Huth and Morgan, double up with Fuchs and Simpson, support Albrighton in his defensive work, win balls for Drinkwater to ping balls through and finally push up the pitch for space for Vardy and Mahrez (Mahrez more so as Vardy can also rely on Drinkwater's through balls) to thrive.  This guy is the ecosystem of our team.

Young Player: Jeff Schlupp

Player: N'Golo Kante

Goal: Vardy v Liverpool (H)

To be honest though, every player in the team could be very worthy of player of the season. Schmeichel has kept numerous clean sheets & made some fantastic saves. Since Simpson and Fuchs have come into the side, the defence has been significantly sured up in terms of being a solid and organised unit. Morgan and Huth, again very solid all season and they've improved so well this season. Tactically both the defence and team has looked excellent. Ranieri has helped this most probably.

The midfield. Mahrez - a winger of the highest quality in Mahrez, he has looked a world class player a vast majority of the time this season with some of the goals and assists he's provided. Kante for me is most certainly a world class midfielder, given the overall attributes he has. Drinkwater has earnt himself an England national team call up, and this season he's shown that he is up to that level due to how classy on the ball he has looked. His through balls to Vardy etc have all been perfectly weighted, they are never under hit or over hit, as a result we have scored many goals from his distribution. Albrighton is a great all round player. His effort both defensively and attacking every match is magnificent & so useful to the team, he's always trying 100%. One of the best crosses of a ball in the PL, and as similar to Drinkwater his through balls and of course crosses are excellent.

Vardy has been class this season. His finishing, tactical awareness/striker instinctiveness, pace and overall game has been incredible. He has developed excellently again this season and luckily for us the club have been patient with him (and many others too). Okazaki's work rate is great, his partnership with Vardy has been good and he's come in with a few goals this season as well. Next season, I do believe we could be seeing even more goals from Shinji next season. Having him had a season to develop it's a bit like some of the current team, they all look PL standard players, but before this they had a season to adjust to the league and level of football, now we're seeing the rewards of this. I feel this could be the same case with Okazaki.

The whole squad have improved greatly this season.  They have developed together, learn together and became better footballers together. Having the season's experience in the Premier League, it's really helped them all. Then came the arrival of Ranieri, and he came at a time where there was a perfect opportunity to give the players his tactical and general knowledge of the game, given also the already strong club foundations. The mix between these factors has worked wonderfully, and ultimately it shows as we're top of the PL.

I can understand why people are giving POTY to Kante, but I just think Vardy is our talisman. He dictates our style of play, he sets the tone for the rest of the team pressing from the front, he's the biggest character in the dressing room who creates the team spirit and he has more goals+assists than any other player in the PL and has won us so many points. Can totally understand why people would go Kante and I'd say he's a very close 2nd, but I think Vardy has to be POTY really. He's the talisman of the side.

Mahrez, Morgan and Drinkwater all just behind Vardy and Kante as well and any of those 3 would've won it any other year.

Vardy vs. Liverpool (just pipping Mahrez vs. Man City)

Crazy to think any other year Kasper, Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Drinkwater, Albrighton would all have been shoe-ins for POTY.

Young player - nobody but if i had to pick somebody it would be schlupp because there are no other realistic candidates.

Player - Kante. Best player in the league this season ahead of Mahrez and Vardy (who along with Kane make up 2nd, 3rd and 4th in some order).

Goal - Vardy v Liverpoolwill win so as a protest vote I am going to go for Okazaki v Spurs in the FA Cup, which was a brilliant bit of individual skill. Also massive shout out for Ulloa's penalty on Sunday. Having your reserve centre forward put his hand up and slot away a huge penalty like that took immense balls.
