MANFACE Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I was pondering today about how many viewers will watch us on TV on Sunday ? If you think that this game is going live world wide, It's Man U on tele with their global audience, Leicester with their neutral/fans global audience with us going for the title. People in Italy following Ranieri, Okazaki in Japan, Ulloa Argentina, half of Thailand, America, Australia, Africa, China. I said to my brother about 80 Million, he said half a billion, friend at work said half a billion too ?? How many realistically, could this be the most watched premier league match of all time ? How many do you think ?
Trumpet Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/televised-premier-league-matches-attracted-6863816 I'd go with 1.5- 2m
NewEnglandFox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 ~600-800k in the US. I doubt it'll be the most watched game worldwide and it definitely won't be the most watched Prem game in US history. We have 6 chances to win the title, it's not a do or die ultimatum type game to attract the big ratings.
Mezeker Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/televised-premier-league-matches-attracted-6863816 I'd go with 1.5- 2m These are domestic viewing figures, I am pretty sure Thailand eclipses this by themselves.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/televised-premier-league-matches-attracted-6863816 I'd go with 1.5- 2m That was just on Sky UK though, the OP is talking globally - the EPL is hown on more than just Sky. Half a billion is ridiculous, that is about 8% of the world's population (to put that into perspective, the 2 million record for a Sky transmission is about 4% of the UK population) So maybe 80 million worldwide isn't impossible.
st albans fox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 ~600-800k in the US. I doubt it'll be the most watched game worldwide and it definitely won't be the most watched Prem game in US history. We have 6 chances to win the title, it's not a do or die ultimatum type game to attract the big ratings. But it's the only one against Man U. k/o at lunchtime is perfect for the East Asian bars and also works for the US breakfast audience. Bit early for the west coast mind. too late for Australia. Will likely be our biggest ever tv audience. I hope we can put on a show ala citeh but I suspect a 1-0 awaits.
dorsetboy Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 sky 1.5 million u.s and global = 5 million kodi==== 129 million
Bluetintedspecs Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 I heard we're that massive ET and all his mates are tuning in too!
peach0000 Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3004202/Manchester-United-vs-Liverpool-Real-Madrid-vs-Barcelona-biggest-fixture-world-football.html Half a billion may be possible
WesMorganGod Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Probably the most watched game of all time I reckon, would be more than the world cup final, most people dont like international football
treer Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/televised-premier-league-matches-attracted-6863816 I'd go with 1.5- 2m i suggest you never ever have a spreadbet
SystonFox Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Probably the most watched game of all time I reckon, would be more than the world cup final, most people dont like international football Agree
Mark_w Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 Probably the most watched game of all time I reckon, would be more than the world cup final, most people dont like international football How many people watched the Olympics? It'll surely get more than that? They don't even have any good sports.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 27 April 2016 Posted 27 April 2016 How many people watched the Olympics? It'll surely get more than that? They don't even have any good sports. Wheelchair Polevault in Rio, that's going to be intense
Vardinio'sCat Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 Looking at the Liverpool v Man Utd numbers, it has to be in the hundreds of millions, if that article is correct. And is anyone counting the streaming? Mind boggling...
AyewJoking Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 ~600-800k in the US. I doubt it'll be the most watched game worldwide and it definitely won't be the most watched Prem game in US history. We have 6 chances to win the title, it's not a do or die ultimatum type game to attract the big ratings. but it is a chance to witness the greatest sporting achievement ever
ozleicester Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 easy, lets count. 1 - Ozleicester To be fair, as huge as the achievement will be.... in places like Oz, most people wont watch, they will see and hear the results on the news etc and be amazed for an hour, but "soccer" is still of smaller interest compared to AFL and League etc. I imagine the same applies in the US Most people wont watch games they will just enjoy the story.. and pirate go see the film
erlee Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 The city of Manchester's economy will be boosted this weekend - judging by the number of people in town.. foreign press & reporters..
WigstonWanderer Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 But it's the only one against Man U. k/o at lunchtime is perfect for the East Asian bars and also works for the US breakfast audience. Australia 9pm in Perth, not too late. I'll be watching!
Hamstonian Posted 28 April 2016 Posted 28 April 2016 I am thinking of having about 50 people over to watch it and have breakfast and beer. Birmingham in the states. I don't know any other Leicester fans, but know a lot that support United or Chelsea. The United fans around here are pretty excited about this game. Neutrals are clued in. Nothing will make me happier than having a bunch of MU wankers over and LC winning. If not, I can wish them well on their outside chance of CL next year and say that it will be better to win the title at home anyway. Interest is high for the people that follow the league and a surprising number that don't have been pulled in by the improbable season. It is getting attention. The ratings will be good for the time slot anyway.
