Who to buy ? Who to go ?

Few fringe players are never gonna get near - Schwarzer, RDL, Inler, Hamer and Dyer.

Moore, Benny likely to be the same although Was or Benny as 4th choice CB would be fine for me.

Improved contracts to Mahrez, Vardy, Kante, Drinkwater, Schmiechel, Albrighton etc important to tie down our best players and I would say look to bring in 6 players for the new season as we will be in four competions.

you really want us to be embarrassed in the Champions League dont you.  Bolasie sigh

we just took in 160 mil, we have billionaire owners, playing in Europe, this guy said Bolassie smh. Looks to heavens.

Sorry sweetheart, didn't mean to upset you.

Who would you buy with your infinite wisdom?

Lets start by giving long term contracts to Shakespeare and Walsh and a bloody good bonus to all the back room staff and keep the players who want to stay and maybe increase some wages and extend contracts if required. Then let Claudio and the boys do what they do

Bolasie would be decent, instead of Dyer. Quality player on his day

I would like us to sign Defoe from Sunderland. He would be great back up to bring on if Vardy has to be subbed. He is a natural goal scorer & gets goals even playing for a poor side....Sunderland. Oh & by the way, he wouldn't cost very much!  I think Nigel Pearson tried to sign him when we were in the Championship?

Everybody keeps saying get rid of Moore, are none of you aware of the rules regarding home grown players for the Champions League.

We need to keep Moore, Schlupp, and King for the Champions League squad alone.

we need a back up goalkeeper, central defensive cover, we need a forward to play up front with vardy

we need to keep kante, mahrez

we need to keep chilwell and develop him

we need cover for simpson at right back

we need quality in every position not quantity

We need to keep Moore, Schlupp, and King for the Champions League squad alone.

We have to consider it, from my understanding it is a 25 man squad with 8 home grown players, we have enough at the moment:

Vardy,

Drinkwater,

James,

Albrighton,

King,

Schlupp,

Morgan,

Simpson,

Moore,

Chilwell,

Gray,

I think Schmeichel and Huth count as home grown too, but I'm not sure.

We don't have to panic too much, but we also don't want to end up making a rod for our own backs as we try to compete on multiple fronts. The CL squad is 25 regardless of age so we can't supplement it with youth like we can the PL squad. I think before we start getting our heads turned by fancy foreign players we should be looking at who is available and who would fit in and who is homegrown.

Our priority should be to buy someone who can play the Vardy role, we are not reliant on him, but without him we lose an edge.

I would look at someone like Shane Long, he can play the Vardy Role, has plenty of experience in the top flight, hard working, not got an ego, happy to be a squad player, or if we could get him Callum Wilson. Share the workload between them and Vardy and get the best out of both of them, or throw them both on when we need to get all out pace.

I would also be looking at players like Nathan Redmond, James Ward Prowse, Cresswell  they would fit the bill, I'm sure Walsh will also unearth some gems in the foreign leagues, but we should be looking at young English talent with premier league experience who can come in and do a job instantly and to build on this foundation for years to come.

Or am I being too conservative, could we get a Lukaku or Sturridge? Would we want them and their baggage?

I thought 4 had to be players that had come through our ranks, admittedly my knowledge of it comes from a 3 years out of date football manager game so I may be wrong.

Your last point is interesting though, I don't see why we shouldn't at least enquire about bigger name players at non CL clubs.

dont think we would go after sturridge with his injury background

But our record of treating injuries might appeal to him and he seems unhappy with Klopp at the moment. Obviously the physios  would need to check him out, but if anyone could get him fit and keep him fit we could. There is the concern over his attitude, we should speak to his uncle see if he can sort him out.

You know what's mental? Konchesky and Hammond are still on the books! I was trying to work out who I would let go. Then I realised we still have those two. Pretty sure their contracts are up this summer.

I would have thought Was might be let go, but after his performance on Saturday, I think we might want to keep him for one more season.

Kram and Inler will be sold, I reckon. Neither fit into the team. I like the look of Benny when he plays CB. I'd be happy to see him get another chance. I'd like to see James stay, but it remains to be seen whether he's still the same player.

It seems like Chilwell wants to move, which is a real shame. I'd try to convince him he's best off here, which I genuinely believe he is - Fuchs is the only player ahead of him, and he's no spring chicken. If he has to go, we'd have to go out and get another good prospect.

I doubt Moore is going to be good enough, but we might want to keep him if only to fill the home grown quota for the CL squad.

Article 43:

43.02
No club may have more than 25 players on List A during the season, two of whom
must be goalkeepers. As a minimum, eight places are reserved exclusively for
"locally trained players" and no club may have more than four "association-
trained players" listed on these eight places on List A. List A must specify the
players who qualify as being "locally trained", as well as whether they are "club-
trained" or "association-trained". The possible combinations that enable clubs to
comply with the List A requirements are set out in Annex G.
43.03
A "locally trained player" is either a "club-trained player" or an "association-
trained player".
43.04
A "club-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the
season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which
he turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and age, has been registered with
his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons (i.e. a
period starting with the first official match of the relevant national championship
and ending with the last official match of that relevant national championship) or
of 36 months.
43.05
An "association-trained player" is a player who, between the age of 15 (or the
start of the season during which the player turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the
season during which the player turns 21), and irrespective of his nationality and
age, has been registered with a club or with other clubs affiliated to the same
association as that of his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three
entire seasons or of 36 months.
43.06
If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players in its squad, then the
maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

I'm fairly confident we'll keep Vardy, I think Mahrez is 50/50, but I am concerned that Kante will be off. Getting RM and N'Golo new terms would be the best deals of the summer (alongside Walsh and Shakey). At least if we do end up losing anybody, we've got the best staff we could ask for to find replacements.

I'm sure that, as Walsh and Shakey said themselves, we'll carry on looking for the same type of players we've been getting in, which is exactly what we need. We'll just want a few more of them to cope with the added fixtures.

Let Wasyl play out another season making appearances in the FA Cup, League Cup and the occasional bench draw. He's got another year left in him.
