Alf Bentley Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 You'll be able to enjoy Mr Dyche on a regular basis! Congratulations btw Always good when an old and much-loved friend comes back again.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 Burnley, a team I used to like until you seemed to collectively take offence at finishing second place behind us, led by your manager who is obsessed with spending power. Sorry, but I'll be shedding no tears when you're relegated again next year
burnleyfan Posted 5 May 2016 Author Posted 5 May 2016 I can tell this one is going to be a handful when we win 1-0 at Turf Moor after a dodgy penalty decision is given next season... As if Jamie Vardy is going to try and win a penalty! On a more serious note it's interesting to see how both clubs are very similar in terms of fitness and discipline. We are both top of the fair play league. We've had no red cards even with Saint Joey in the team. And we've both used fewer players than anyone else!
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 May 2016 Posted 5 May 2016 Congrats on the promotion, thoroughly deserved in my view. Dyche has done an excellent job with Burnley, he's built a team who work for each other but also have the quality in the right places, these two foundations are key to success as Leicester have proved. For a while now, I've been a big fan of Andre Gray, 24 goals this season and for me he looks like he is Premier League material - I think he will score goals in the top flight.

Sorry, but I'll be shedding no tears when you're relegated again next year The thing with our spending power is that as we've never borrowed a single penny from a bank we always try to settle any debts from any small loans from directors. We made a profit of £30.1 million this year - virtually unheard of in football. But as we don't have any wealthy backers we've used part of that money to build a new academy and other bits. We'll spend about £20 million but the rest will be used to safeguard the future of the club. That's all we can really do.

I imagine everybody looks at Burnley and think it's admirable what they are achieving without breaking the bank. It's just boring and annoying to hear the gaffer mention it every week. Aside from his obsession with saying how little he has in comparison to others I really like Dyche. The club should be well and truly safe guarded for the future with the near 100 million you can pick up just for being in the league now. Let's just hope he doesn't spunk millions on terrible championship players this time. Do you think you'll hold onto Andre Gray after the season he's had, should their be interest in him from top half teams? I feel like he'd be a good fit at Spurs as an understudy to Kane. Though I wouldn't mind if we could take him off your hands as competition for Vardy.
ScouseFox Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 didn't we announce a 26 million profit the other week*? unheard of imho. *I may have completely dreamt this
The Horse's Mouth Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Dyche and Joey Barton, can't wait for you to go down. Only thing that will be worse is if Boro come up with you and we're robbed of the best team in the championship coming up.

He should find it a bit easier as Championship centre halves tend to play more like bruisers and not push up as much. Hopefully we'll be able to exploit the space behind defences such as Arsenal's. I agree Dyche does talk about money a bit too much, but we have tried to develop a siege mentality and it seems to work! Karanka got a bit upset with it Although poor signings, Juke & Sordell didn't cost too much so it was a low risk gamble that didn't work.

Yeah, weird how their seems to be very little speculation around him considering the season he's had. Can see him having a very similar impact to Wilson, hopefully minus the injury!
Wymsey Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Would rather have teams with decent fan atmospheres (such as Sheff Wednesday or Leeds etc) in the top league than just clubs from small market towns.
Carl the Llama Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Congratulations pal. Interestingly if you win your final game against Charlton you'll finish on exactly the same number of points you accrued 2 years ago - clearly Dyche hasn't improved results despite spending many pound notes, you should sack him while someone with a proven track record like Pearson's still available.
4everfox Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Yes Burnley are back, that's six points in the bag for our defence of being the best team in the country. Burnley will never survive in the Premier League until they sack whoever signs players for them. Marvin Sordell and Lukas Jutkiewiscz

Lets see if you think that after he comes face to face with Huth and Morgan.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Congrats @@burnleyfan promoted as Champions - that's the best way to do it! Also many congratulations to Middlesborough on returning to the Premiership.
FireFox Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 If Newcastle stay up, then I can see all 3 promoted teams going straight back down.
Koke Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Cant wait to lisen to Dyche talking about pound notes when they lose 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. Welcome back though.
The Blur Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 If Newcastle stay up, then I can see all 3 promoted teams going straight back down. So if Sunderland stay up, you think they will go down next season? I disagree- some of their signings have been astute like Kharzi and Kirchoff. I do think they can finish midtable if they pick up more shrewd signings in the summer.
FuchingKante Posted 7 May 2016 Posted 7 May 2016 Does this mean I'm going to have to hear Dyche's voice on MOTD every week? fvcks sake
burnleyfan Posted 8 May 2016 Author Posted 8 May 2016 Does this mean I'm going to have to hear Dyche's voice on MOTD every week? fvcks sake Just wait to you hear Aitor Kranky! His English is so bad I'm surprised they don'y use subtitles in the interview!
AyewJoking Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 i disliked burnley in the 14/15 season as i saw them as relegation rivals. very happy to see them go down and i thought they wouldnt be back any time soon so well done to them for bouncing right back. we've seen teams like bournemouth and watford make a smooth transition to premier league football whilst norwich have obviously struggled. wonder how burnley will do this time, you might have long odds to survive but thats not the end of the world is it?
Corky Posted 8 May 2016 Posted 8 May 2016 In the Championship he's phenomenal, 10 defeats in 92 matches. The test now is to be better than last time, if he can do that then he'll get all the credit he deserves.
burnleyfan Posted 9 May 2016 Author Posted 9 May 2016 Dyche is a lot of things, but he's no Eddie Howe. Don't know if it's a problem with Burnley's scouting set up, or just SD being a little reserved but, unless things have changed dramatically,I can't see him signing the players necessary to keep Burnley up ! He signed Heaton, Keane, Barton & Gray. All four players who made the Championship team of the season. Remember, three of Eddie Howe's best signings all left the club at the start of the season - Shackell, Trippier & Ings, so it's unfair to say he can't sign players equal to what Eddie Howe did. We finished on exactly the same number of points, games won, drawn, lost etc, so he's proven that he can get promoted with his team and his signings!
