Guest CityFan 06 Posted 27 July 2016 Posted 27 July 2016 Although mixed opinion, I'd welcome Bony or Benteke. Can't help but think we need another striker before the season starts & these two are proven PL goalscorers.

Lesteban Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Ansted at the Mail says that United have told Janujaz, Borthwick-Jackson, Fosu-Mensah, Pereira, McNair, Blackett, Wilson and Keane they can leave. I'd snap their hand of for a few of them. They are mad to let Fosu-Mensah go in my opinion, I'd take him and Borthwick off their hands, probably Janujaz too.
Ric Flair Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Fosu-Mensah all day long and possibly Perreira but if Kaupustka joins then we probably don't have room.
NewEnglandFox Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 I said 2 weeks ago I want Fosu. I saw him boss a game at RB for Man U last spring but supposedly he's a DM. Bothwick-Jackson is a left side guy so I think it's less likely we go after him considering Chilwell just signed. I also can't stand his T-Rex arms. dbtcity Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 I'd raid them for fosu and pereira but like ric flair says I'd be surprised if we signed him and kapustka
kingfox Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 I'd go for Fosu-Mensah also, can remember one game in particular from last season where he looked very good but unfortunately got injured, Valencia or Darmian then came on and they looked shot at RB. Surprised Jose is letting him go, majority of Prem clubs will be licking their lips.
foxes21 Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 Fonsu Mensah Borthwick Jackson Andreas Pereira Robbie Brady Michael Keane
Callabinho Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 Bastian has been told he can leave United. If we could keep him fit...his champions league experience would be priceless.....

If we could keep him fit...his champions league experience would be priceless..... I do believe we would be a great fit for Schweinsteiger given he should be available pretty cheap (compared to the excessive United fees.) If Inler's being pushed out the door then I couldn't think of anyone else with CL and international experience who can do the job in the PL, at his age. I don't think we need another CM, but with Inler and potentially James going, it can only help to have someone like Bastian; I mean, if it's to believed we're moving towards 4-3-3 then a midfield duo of Drinkwater and Schweinsteiger with Mendy behind will be pretty damn title defendingly good. I'd make him a priority if none of the big boys in the CL are going to snap him up.
Dan Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 There was a point where I thought Schweinsteiger was probably the best all-round midfielder on the planet. He looks a shadow of himself these days though. I'm not sure it would work.

norwichfox Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 As he's retired from international football I suspect he'll be good for another 3 years at the top....but not so sure that he would fit well in our "band of Brothers"
artursteppe Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 At the moment, at least if and when we sign Bartosz Kapustka for the reported £7.5M, our total spend will add up to about £38.13M for six players. Incoming total for players sold, Kante and Kramaric about £39.5M, plus others released, or moved on 'free' of charge So we ain't really spent anything yet in nett terms, other than increases in wages. Not too bad I reckon, so far.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 I wouldn't touch Schweinsteiger. Wouldn't go anywhere near him. He's a spent force I suspect . I hope we've learnt following Inler. 50k a week apparently for almost zero football. The Schwein would want double that.

Not too bad I reckon, so far. Hadn't looked at it like that. Good business. Even if we went out and bought 2/3 more 'expensive' players we still might end up having spent £30 odd million which isn't mammoth for what teams pay in the premier league these days
Lcfcrory Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 Definite long shot here but apparently Rashford isn't in Mourinho's plans after bringing Zlatan in...
little leicester Posted 29 July 2016 Posted 29 July 2016 Maybe another long shot but Ive heard eriksen has rejected a new contract from the spuds as he isn't happy with the wages, he's only on 30k a week at the moment which is ****ing disgusting tbf. He seems happy there but surely he couldn't turn down 90k a week from us?
