Foxmeister Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 I think we should go for more players who are surplus to requirements at the big 4, I might be a little optimistic but if we're ever going to sign a Walcott, Ox-Chamb or Mata etc. it's now.

Not sure if Arsenal would sell though or loan him out Don't think it would happen for 2 reasons: 1) Wenger is most likely still bitter that Vards stayed with us. 2) arsenal will look at recouping the fee they paid for him & probably want a little more as they'll say he's got more premiership experience now.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Callum Chambers would be a very smart addition. Like the shout.
Wortho Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 I think Wenger has turned Chambers into a poorish player. He could do with a decent coach like Ranieri.
thankyouleicester Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Hi all, Pompey fan here, big lover of football and all that Leicester achieved last season. Call me crazy but would a Leicester bid for Juan Mata not be a good bit of business? A very technically gifted player that I feel has the workrate that Leicester desire. Could see him setting up plenty of assists/chances. Am I mad? Just throwing a thought out there.
Nick Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 It's a yes from me but I don't think he's quite the fit CR is looking for - especially considering his wage demands and career stage.
Lambert09 Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I must admit I open my news daily hoping to see us linked with him. I think he could be one of the best in the league in the right system, unfortunately I'm not sure we play that system.

thankyouleicester Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Just now, Swan Lesta said: I don't think he's quite the fit CR is looking for... Why not? Whenever I've seen him play he has high work rate, and from what I've heard his a very humble and grinded person If what I've heard is true he'd possibly be willing to take a pay cut for more first team football?
Finnegan Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Personally think Mourinho would be stupid to sell him, United's most creative player. If he does, bigger clubs than us should be bidding far more than we would. He really is exceptional. Would have him here in a heartbeat. When teams come and park the bus next year and we can't get Vardy and Musa behind, a three of Gray, Mata and Mahrez behind a striker would be excellent. Can't see it though.
filbertstreet Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 if we keep signing players on silly wages we'll end up in league two soon enough
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Yes, I'd definitely welcome him here. Proven, quality midfielder at Premier League level, and has creativity which would work well in our team. If we could somehow negotiate wages, and he wanted to come, then he'd be a very tidy piece of business.

Lcfcrory Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I think he'd be perfect in a 433 for us next to mendy and drinky.
HankMarvin Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Bit of a luxury player, don't think he fits our pressing style
jayfox26 Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Very good player but very slow which is kind of the opposite of how we play. He'd have to take at least a £50k pay cut as well.
LinekersApples Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I never thought I'd be in a position to say "No thanks" about a player of his quality, but we need to continue to build as we have. Young, hungry, energetic is the way ahead to compliment what we have already, especially in our front 6 positions. The Polish lad fits the bill. The opposite: Experienced & battle hardened for any new regulars in the back 4.
jutheblue Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Does anyone think that Juan Matta would be a good signing for City, considering he is no longer required by the new Man Utd boss. I know he doesn't put in the required work rate but could be a calming influence in our European games etc. Gentlemen your thoughts please.
dbtcity Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Him in behind vardy in our current system would be quality, won't happen though
lgfualol Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 Spurs don't want Bentaleb anymore. He was pretty good a couple seasons back and young still.
Walkerfox Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I love Juan Mata! I definitely think he could fit into our system behind either Vardy or Musa when we're forced to adapt our style of play against very defensive teams. I also think we could afford him, even if we did have to pay him quite a bit more than the rest, and I think he'd consider coming here with CL football and a main starting spot guaranteed. He's also a really nice guy. I met him not so long ago in Manchester and he was genuinely lovely, so I couldn't see him upsetting the togetherness of the group. He's a top talent and not someone we should be saying no to.
LCFC FOX Posted 25 July 2016 Posted 25 July 2016 I'd like Defoe. A proper poacher who I think would score a load for us with the chances we could give him
