Gerard Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Humm 9m on the Croatian shows spending a lot of money on overseas players is a risk especially coming from weaker leagues Any transfer is a risk but the more you pay the less the risk should be. We will probably as near as damn it get our money back on Kramaric as he has been a success at Hoffenheim. If we do get within a couple of million of what we paid for him it's good business as we took a punt on Kramaric, got it wrong but still recouped most of our money.
The Doctor Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 I was hoping for lapadula and deeney. £23 million is too much IMO. We should go for players under £20 million. Lapadula shouldn't cost more than £10 million. Deeney not more than £15 million. Deeney would be ridiculously expensive. He's doing fairly well for Watford who have absolutely no need to sell. Why don't we just move the KP to Algeria I don't think this Silimi will cut it in England , space is tight , defenders not mugs and keepers world class At 10m I'd say have a gamble At 23m I say .... Too expensive move on John Stones, Simon Minoglet. You were saying?
lgfualol Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Some idiots on here. Clubs in the Championship are spending £10m on players these days. £23m is the going rate for top players we are Premier League Champions now and in the Champions League FFS. True. You'll have a few on here saying they'll take back Nugent because he 'can do a job' for cheap over a top striker who could actually do a job in the CL and more.
Gerard Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Why are people worrying about 1) Transfer fee 2). Wages We have just won the league We are sitting in a shed load of money Our owners are rich Our recruitment had been top draw for years We want to move to the next level??? Then don't worry about spending it! It's not our money or any of the fans...so if the club wants to splash the cash why the hell do we need to worry it's not our money It does not matter a lot to me if we spend £5 or £50milli on a player. I don't get why people are saying this is to much or that is to much. Why does it matter? We can do what we want we have the best owners in the world and if they wanna throw money around let them and sit back and enjoy the ride. People are interested in finances because if we consistently overspend on what a player is worth the club will end up suffering and relegation becomes inevitable at some point as the policy of not getting value is unsustainable. Look at Newcastle & Villa who have spent a fortune on their players but because they weren't getting value have been relegated.
Mezeker Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 We should keep with our extremely successful way of recruitment. You've heard how good we are at unearthing gems right? What in your mind would indicate that unearthing gems is a policy? We have been extremely lucky, don't think this is the norm or an argument for why we shouldn't sign PROVEN players at 20+. All these facile arguments on here written with such gusto.
FireFox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Humm 9m on the Croatian shows spending a lot of money on overseas players is a risk especially coming from weaker leaguesEveryone knows Krama was just a shit Pearson signing. Have some faith in Walsh.

Erm.....look at Man Utd Man city Liverpool Chelsea All spend shed loads and have they folded and got relegated? NO! Just because it's happened to some teams don't mean it's going to happen to us. The owners have never let us down so why would you think they would in the future.?? In 35 years of supporting this club we are in a better position than ever so I for one am going to enjoy if. If that means we spend £5 or £100 million I really don't care. That side of it is not my job as a fan My job is to support the team whatever happens through thick and thin. Just go with it it's an amazing time to be supporting Leicester City.
Guest the fox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 We should keep with our extremely successful way of recruitment. You've heard how good we are at unearthing gems right? but thing is mahrez/vardy took a time to settle . we need proven strikers fast . and slimani is the best option . we are going to the CL and we need heavy hitters . okazaki is not good enough

If the big teams don't get value they slip to about 6th because they operate at a higher level than we do. If we consistently don't get VFM then we'll eventually get relegated.
Strokes Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 We do have to be careful, I can't remember many players from the Portuguese leagues coming over and doing really well here, obviously cristiano ronaldo but not much else springs to mind. Having said that his attributes look a perfect fit for us, and i am sure we have done our research on his personality too.

If we consistently don't get VFM then we'll eventually get relegated. But who is to say we won't be getting value for money? Have we not been getting valise for money they last few years? We still have the same men looking for the players just because we look at a higher valued player does not mean we are not getting value for money. Doubting player are worth X amount is doubting our club and scouts. On what grounds should we doubt anyone? We have just won the league! Trust in the owners....Scouts... Coaches manager and players. They have not let us down so keep supporting them and leave the finances to people who know about those things. We are not qualified to say who is worth what. And I say it again it's not the fans money so why do we care! #Trust
davieG Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Linked with Spurs on Twitter Report: Tottenham Hotspur willing to pay release clause for Algerian striker Islam Slimani The Sporting Lisbon striker is also wanted by Leicester City. Embed from Getty Images Tottenham Hotspur have fell short in their hunt for the Premier League title and could still finish third to local rivals Arsenal if results do not go their way this weekend. One key reason behind their inability to finish as league winners was their lack of options in the striker department. Clinton N’Jie and Heung-min Son are both striking options but predominantly wingers who have both had their injury problems this term. Harry Kane has therefore been the only real option up front throughout the season, so a striker will be on the transfer shortlist for Mauricio Pochettino this summer. Embed from Getty Images Portuguese source A Bola is now reporting that Tottenham are ready to follow up on their long-touted interest in Sporting striker Islam Slimani. They claim that Spurs are willing to pay the €30 million (£23.6 million) release clause to bring him in from the Lisbon side this summer. Manager confirms Belgian goal machine's summer exit, as London rivals prepare bids Leicester City are also keen on the player but A Bola reports Tottenham are willing to stump up the cash and are Slimani’s favoured destination. Algerian international Slimani has been in great form this season, scoring 31 goals in 41 appearances and is a hard working centre-forward who would fit in to Pochettino’s style of play perfectly.
GaelicFox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 You come across as a wum. Most actual Leicester fans have every faith in our scouting network and chief scout Steve Walsh. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk I haven't seen any report that Steve Walsh wants him I see an Algerian PR machine selling him to us If Steve wants to and spends 23m on him 100% I'm cool with that But I think this is load of crap to be honest
GaelicFox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Everyone knows Krama was just a shit Pearson signing. Have some faith in Walsh. Can someone show me one credible link that shows Walsh wants him ?? The player it seems wants to go to Spurs and they are willing to pay his release clause This is a nonsense story
cityfanlee23 Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 we need players who are available all season Nobody will be even without AFCON.

KFS Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Got a feeling they'll be monitoring our targets this window
Gerard Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Surely the more you pay the bigger the risk ? Turkeys like Andy Carrol and Torres show that Not really, the more you spend then the more you're getting proven quality. Carroll was a risk at the time as he wasn't proven over a long enough time scale for that money. Torres wasn't really a risk as he was quality over a long period but just ended up being crap for Chelsea. Luis Suarez cost £70m but was hardly a risk because his quality was there for all to see.
