Wymsey Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 He's got more strength and better shot-on-target rate than Okazaki, so would be great. Though, perhaps the fee apparently demanded (£25m to some British tabloid) is rather high due to the quality of the Portuguese top league.

It's annoying to be English Champions but we're still treated like a plucky little club. I applaud the club for mixing it with the big guns of Europe for players but we'll have to just take the scraps the big clubs don't want. A massive season next season, if we have a good one we'll start being took seriously.

I think to get over there any up an coming club has to overpay for a marquee signing, while it may look like a rash move it indicates intent and the multiplying effect is usually worth it. A show of strength to the market if you will.

He's done very well in the bundesliga and it looks like we'll be getting most of that money back. He just didn't suit our style of game. Slimani clearly does.

In terms of Slimani, would be a good signing but wouldn't mind too much if we miss out, I'd be happy with Lapadula, younger and likely to cost less, and sounds like he'd be up for it!

Personally I'd prefer the better player and that seems to be Slimani. Lapadula isn't an 18yo prospect and price doesn't come into it for me.
