Leicester City are already thinking about next season when the Foxes defend their Premier League title as well as participate in the Champions League as Claudio Ranieri is looking for a striker who can play next to Jamie Vardy.

The club have found a target in Portugal in Sporting Club's attacker Islam Slimani, born in 1988. The Algerian striker, who was close to Fiorentina last summer, has found the net 26 times and assisted another 5 goals this season in the Portuguese league.

Mahrez at right back, takes his man on, what a nutmeg, he's driven leicester 50 yards, he swings it into the box, SLIMANIIIIiIiIi!!!!!!!! What a superb Leicester goal. Repeat.

4th successive window we've been linked with him. There must be some truth.

Exactly! And I've really wanted him 4 times. But after 4 attempts and he was suddenly interested I'm now suspicious.

Plus the football world knows this now; watching who we've been courting. I'm letting him go.

To be honest i don't think Slimani is good enough to join us right now if we wanna take a step up.
Don't get me wrong, He's a great striker and a real fox in the box kinda player, But i do think we should go for something bigger in order to take our game to the next level.

Personally, given his scoring record, i think it is much more likely we are not big enough for him.

Why didn't man city target him when they bought bony......pellegrini is a terrible manager.

I'll repeat what I've said every other time we've been linked with this bloke. The was one player Pearson specifically denied us bidding on or even being interested in. For a man who never comments on transfer speculation, that should tell you a lot. Things might have changed, but this is most likely just a lazy rehash of an old non story.

The more I see his name pop up the more he grows on me. Big, agile, good in the air, selfless and has an eye for goal. He ticks all of the right boxes.

I have heard and contiune to hear praise for this chap. Can't say I know too much about him, but looking at this goal record and what others have said on here, he looks like he would be a decent buy.
