Alex_LCFC Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 I'd take lapadula ahead of him. Think he could be something special. Agree 23 mil too much. lapuda banging goals in seria B over slimani who is banging goals in portuguese top flight, champions league and the intonational stage ??
LCFC FOX Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Vardy, Okazaki, Slimani and Musa to be our strikers next season with Ulloa leaving?
Gerard Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 I'm really warming to this signing over the last 24 hours. There is a lot of similarities to Vardy in his career path. At 25 he was playing for a small club in Algeria and only got his move to Sporting less than three years go. He done okay in Portugal but wasn't outstanding until this season when he's had a stand out season scoring 30 goals in 42 games in all competitions. He's not a technical player by any means but has got great physical attributes with great work rate and he's an absolute beast in the air despite only being 6,1" so he's tall but not that tall. Mahrez would have been questioned about this signing and I'm sure one the reasons we're so keen to get this done ASAP is because of Mahrez's glowing reference. He has also recently been linked with Atletico Madrid, Man Utd and Arsenal so that should confirm his quality.
FireFox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Not sure if posted, but saw this stat on reddit: "Against Portugal's big two, Benfica and Porto, he's scored 9 goals and assisted 2 in 15 matches."
Gerard Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 He just sounds like a huge upgrade on Okazaki and another string to our bow going forward. Now defences will have to deal against: The quickest player in the league: Vardy The best dribbler in the league: Mahrez The best header in the league: Slimani

Buce Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Your first sentence leads me to think your second sentence is BS. Maybe you'd prefer an English attacker. Welcome back, FIF.
Bazly Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 With this guy up front with Vardy the team isn't going to be the best looking. There goes the Japanese schoolgirl fan base.

zak_lcfc Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Vardy, Okazaki, Slimani and Musa to be our strikers next season with Ulloa leaving? Think Ulloa will stay, with AFCON in January if we sign them, Slimani and Musa will be on international duty so we will need cover for those whilst they're gone
Leicester_Loyal Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 That just leaves a free kick specialist in midfield and sorted. This is all you bang on about, how many free kicks realistically is a player going to score a season, 3 or 4? I'd rather have a player who can close the ball down well, retain possession well and does well with the ball at his feet, much like Kante and Drinkwater.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Just watched a few youtube videos of him and it surprised me how good his footwork seems to be. Also appears a lot quicker than I imagined. Definitely has more dimemsions to him than Ulloa from that small amount of evidence although it was also evident how poor the defenders and keepers are in the Portuguese league
foxes21 Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Watches the sporting vs cska champions league qualifier (I've got a link if anyone wants it). I know its just one game but Slimani & Musa both looked very useful & you can see why Walsh has identified both. Interestingly the best attacking player on the pitch was our old friend Carrillo, shame he went Benfica.

foxoffderby Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Some idiots on here. Clubs in the Championship are spending £10m on players these days. £23m is the going rate for top players we are Premier League Champions now and in the Champions League FFS.
GaelicFox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Trust me there are plenty of mugs in this league who can't defend His attributes actually suit our game. At 10m take a punt he will adjust At £23m I'd rather we buy proven BPL player of one from the top 3 leagues in Europe !!! Why gamble ? it's not like he is going to be World class otherwise he wouldn't be linked with us , that's me being a realist not a defeatist

Humm 9m on the Croatian shows spending a lot of money on overseas players is a risk especially coming from weaker leagues
foxoffderby Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Humm 9m on the Croatian shows spending a lot of money on overseas players is a risk especially coming from weaker leagues ok lets buy a striker from Scottish league for 250k
GaelicFox Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Your first sentence leads me to think your second sentence is BS. Maybe you'd prefer an English attacker. For 23m I'd like a player that has been in this league already If he is 10m fair enough have a punt What sort of wages will he want coming in on that fee ? 6 figures for sure I'm not sure this deal is happening just doesn't fit with how we have done business ok lets buy a striker from Scottish league for 250k Let's not
Lesta Legend Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Humm 9m on the Croatian shows spending a lot of money on overseas players is a risk especially coming from weaker leaguesYou come across as a wum. Most actual Leicester fans have every faith in our scouting network and chief scout Steve Walsh. themightyfin Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Why are people worrying about 1) Transfer fee 2). Wages We have just won the league We are sitting in a shed load of money Our owners are rich Our recruitment had been top draw for years We want to move to the next level??? Then don't worry about spending it! It's not our money or any of the fans...so if the club wants to splash the cash why the hell do we need to worry it's not our money It does not matter a lot to me if we spend £5 or £50milli on a player. I don't get why people are saying this is to much or that is to much. Why does it matter? We can do what we want we have the best owners in the world and if they wanna throw money around let them and sit back and enjoy the ride.
