ARM1968 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Baggypants- you ever been to Tubes or Roadhouse mate, they're banging. Stick your swish London clubs. Melton has an M&S garage and everything. Oakham in the other hand really is a shite hole despite the belief of some that's its a well off town. Now if he moved up to Hambleton, over looking Rutland Water, that's different, decent pub too.
Wymsey Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Personally find it quite disrespectful of Vardy to spring this on us and then **** off to the Euros without making a decision. If he is going, the least he could do is give us the summer to find a decent replacement. Agree. It would also unsettle the team.
BaggyPants Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 The presence and amount of the £20m activation clause does beg a question. Was it the club or Vardy's representatives who asked for the clause to be a condition when drafting his existing contract...and as to which party I wonder stipulated £20m ?. No doubt these points were all part of the negotiation...but it would be interesting to know more.

Its rare that a club gets a phonecall and thats the first they know of a potential offer. Besides, we'll have someone lined up just in case he does decide to move.... Probably have for a while now...

Yeah and then it will get to deadline day and we'll argue over 98p and it will fall through and we will be ****ed.

Could just see Vardy being chucked out of Tubes by Kanti! (if you're from Melton you'll know who he is) I did hear he was either buying or building a place at Hambleton though - very nice! I also heard that the house he lives in on Burton Road is not owned by him but by the the club/owners/King Power

Foxxed Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 You all reckon him deciding after the Euros will help him concentrate? All that pressure, all those players having a word--for concentration wouldn't it be better to make the decision before?
ousefox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I'd imagine London is a much greater pull for a younger player than somebody bringing up a family. Although with him and his wife seemingly wanting the celebrity lifestyle that may make a difference. These London v Leicester arguments are also pointless. The majority on here are bias because you're from Leicester. Some people like London some people don't. Nobody can guess what Vardy would prefer.
BoneDog Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I know it feels like that! Remember in the old days you wouldn't find out if we'd brought/sold someone until you read it in Match or Shoot the following Thursday! And then some twat went and invented the internet!
stripeyfox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Tubes. If there was ever a reason to never go Melton, thats it. Depends which era you went. When it was a three floored emporium of drinking, fighting and getting off with women/girls of varying quality it was great. Used to have to queue for half an hour just to get in!
ealingfox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I reckon he's staying and the owners, reacting angrily to the way Arsenal have approached this, have told him to delay announcing it to worsen things for Arsenal.
SecretPro Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I'm a bit P*ssed that we are going to be left hanging until after the Euros. **** the Leicester fans who have been lording me all season, I'll just jog off to France for 6 weeks and leave everyone in total despair. Cheers chap.

ARM1968 Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 stripeyfox - those were the days, great place. I've managed all three there multiple times. Can't understand why Vardy would ever want to leave.

I've not been tubes for years I wonder if my shoes are still stuck to the floor?
stripeyfox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I've not been tubes for years I wonder if my shoes are still stuck to the floor? I think there may still be a couple of my coats in the cloakroom
ScouseFox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 they're backing him to leave again now btw. this is so much fun.

If he is going, the least he could do is give us the summer to find a decent replacement. Yes it's rather unsavoury, but you'd like to think that if he has decided to leave that he will have let the club know so they know where they stand regarding preparation for next season.
stripeyfox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 they're backing him to leave again now btw. this is so much fun. Maybe they're reading this thread and basing the odds on what they read!

But if he lets the club know why not just ****ing let us know. Makes zero sense.
stripeyfox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Tubes is closed isn't it ??? Surely not still going I think it still opens on a limited basis - perhaps just the lower floor? I've not been for years. I rarely go out these days but last time we were out for a few and someone decided "let's go to Tubes" we walked up and Kanti said "don't bother coming in, it's crap". But we still did, and it was. So down Curry Hut for some grub and walked home to await incoming hangover.
