Izzy Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I'd be amazed if anyone got, past the 5th game week with these things - the little things were so small and fiddly and went everywhere when you whooshed your bedroom door it really wasn't worth it. a real pain in the arse having to start again when that happened. Lineker was a big fan though
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Swore I wouldn't read any other transfer news unless its incoming players....but have taken a peep. All getting a bit sad and desperate. Take it that he's gone and lets look forward knowing that he has pissed Arsenal off by making them wait + will be starting there having to win their fans over after the insult!
49er Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I used to order programmes from Steve Earl (not the one who played for us) - he used to advertise in Shoot and is still going!
4everfox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 I think vardy will and should stay at leicester. No offence leicester fans but as a arsenal fan I really don't want the guy.. I would prefer us to sign no striker if vardy is the only option I think vardy will and should stay at leicester. No offence leicester fans but as a arsenal fan I really don't want the guy.. I would prefer us to sign no striker if vardy is the only option To be quite brutally honest, Vardy would WALK into Arsenals starting lineup. The bloke sh@ts all over Giroud.
UPinCarolina Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Wouldn't this be something: Arsene Wenger will play Jamie Vardy on the left wing in ultra attacking line-up, claims Emmanuel Petit Based on his recent experiences, that's a great way to convince him not to sign with Arsenal.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 a real pain in the arse having to start again when that happened. Lineker was a big fan though It was that or ceefax page... 324 for Division One if I remember correctly? Definitely 302 for football.
49er Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 No one can beat the good old Sports Mercury. Waiting with others at the newsagents at around 5.50pm on a Saturday evening for it to be delivered hot off the press with a report of the game.
Izzy Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 It was that or ceefax page... 324 for Division One if I remember correctly? Definitely 302 for football. Page 305. Somethings never change
st albans fox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 This is drifting and if today's info is valid, it will drift for a fair while now
Kitchandro Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Turned into the nostalgia thread. Better than the twitter profile picture thread but I miss the bowel movements daily thread. Or should that be bowel movers digest.
Wymsey Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Page 305. Somethings never change Not surprised about the subject of 309 - Arsenal injury worry number 1523123.
WigstonWanderer Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 If he's decided to stay, making his decision public might make things a bit awkward with Wilshire.
Spiritwalker Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Won't leave to much at risk. Who will buy his book or watch the movie... Its empathy with characters that make them popular and loyalty is saleable characteristic. Or not, wtf would I know, just trying to get this thread over the line.. Strangely when this first broke I thought, this won't happen. cause it will **** uphis film and book .
TJB-fox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 It's hilarious how fans that have seen Vardy this season in the prem still don't give him his due credit. He's seen as a half decent striker that just runs a lot and works hard, which frankly is ridiculous. His first touch and finishing in particular have come on massively from when he joined. He can lead the line easily by himself or in a 2. He can hold the ball up or go in behind easily. His link up play and like I said finishing is one of the best in the division. Not to mention his pace. Read a stat the other day saying that if Arsenals strikers had the strike rate Vardy had (goals to chances ratio) last season they would've won the league. He would walk into the Arsenal team
mozartfox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Mmmmm this thread is limping badly towards 200 pages. We badly need a big signing to a create a diversion. Any chance we can sign the ex Chelsea physio?

st albans fox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Odds on him going to arsenal shortening steadily. Now 7/4. Can see this heading towards 50/50
leicesterseddon Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Think last I saw we had the worst conversion rate of big chances in the Premier League. Giroud is very good at holding the ball up, but as an out and out goalscorer he squanders too many chances. For my part I would love us to sign someone that is proven. We need a proven prolific striker. Considering the mad market we have now for strikers...the price is maybe not that bad. Yeah that's kinda what I was saying - in recent years Wenger has seemingly rejected getting involved in the "mad market" as you call it. Not saying Arsenal have necessarily made the wrong decision to go for Vardy...just surprised. Is a 29-year-old Vardy worth more than £20m? Maybe. Is he worth more than £30m? No way, I don't think so. So at the end of the day I'd say we might sell at £23-26m even if he didn't have a release clause - IF he wanted to leave.
Kendal Fox Posted 7 June 2016 Posted 7 June 2016 Is this a wind up? Ok, take away the quality of life bit (which I still say will be better in Leics) and just focus on the fact that, 120K or not - after the overheads of living in Herts or North London are deducted, he will have very little, if any more financially than he would by simply staying put, with this new and improved offer from us. So why bother? I don't know how to make my point any clearer?!
