Who bets on whether a player moves or not? Horses yes footbalp results yes. But player moves? What a load of nonsense just another way of fleecing hopeless gambling addicts. What's next betting on whether the united bus arrives on time?

Probably waiting to see whether Kante and Mahrez stay, fair enough I would say. I hope the club are putting in overtime in getting these 3 under new contracts with massive release clauses asap

Out of interest, does anyone know what the situation would be if we transfer listed him and accepted an offer from another club (e.g. Liverpool)? If this is all about how much money he can earn, and we're led to believe that there's interest from other clubs who are prepared to pay a higher wage then maybe we can use this to squeeze a little extra cash out of a team not competing in the CL or at the very least force Arsenal into paying him more money than they anticipated which would in turn make any deal to them less attractive.

Like literally how many transfer threads of bookies' odds meaning f all do we need before people stop inundating them with updates on odds which fluctuate mostly as a function of bets placed and not new hidden information.

It amazes me that people don't realise that gambling odds are mostly based on percentage of money going on a particular factor. Even if bookies were 99.9% certain of something, but everyone was betting against it, you'd get good odds.

Hopefully it's the club putting massive release clauses in so we get our money when the leave rather than the player/agent forcing a low release clause so he can jump ship and get a big pay day.  Then if a player wants to force a move the club can get paid.

Can't think of it like this I'm afraid. Look at the last window trying desperately to sign any striker available on deadline day and ending up with nothing. Need to get in there early and sow a few of these deals up, ie. Slimani, been chasing him for 2 years so how about we just sort it the **** out.

Saw this earlier, he actually says that he thinks Vardy won't get picked because of a lack of experience. Koscielny has also been talking about what a good signing JV would be to the French media- pretty dismissive considering we are the Champions.

That said, Wenger commenting on JV's lack of experience is an interesting tactic on his behalf. Not sure I'd want a prospective manager saying that about me if I was thinking of moving clubs. Doesn't exactly scream 'you're the man' does it?

Edit: Oops, quoted the wrong comment. Meant to quote the one with links to Wenger's comments about Vardy not having enough international experience to start for England.

You know what, fair play to Vardy for holding off until after the Euros. We've been crying out for players who treat international football as the pinnacle of the game and everything Vardy does seems to indicate he's a working class kid come good who just wants to play the game.

Of course money will always play a part but the fact he is taking his time in making the decision makes me think that playing time is a priority for him.

He'll always be a hero in my eyes.

You are really easy to deceive by the media. Those comments by Arsene Wenger are from this document aired month ago:

At the end he is asked about best english players for the upcoming Euro 2016, Vardy question is there too. You know what was the only thing that Wenger said?

That Vardy is ready quality-wise and he has the form, he is just not experienced enough with the international-level play to rely on him with the whole tournament.

So how many times Vardy was in the english team for the international tournaments remind me.
