Jace Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 As it happens, I got a delivery from the club shop today. On the invoice and merchandise returns form halfway down we have the sentence: SHIRT PRINTING POLICY - We are unable to exchange or refund a custom printed shirt, or accept responsibility if a player leaves the club or changes his squad number. This sentence is highlighted in yellow and is the only thing on the form that is highlighted. Is it always? Even more spectacularly how did you get an order from them!?
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I can't see him leaving to be honest. I think it's a massive over-reaction to something that was on twitter. The only reason it's making headlines is because it for was one of, if not the best players in the league last season... and Arsenal. (An Arsenal side who invest in youth, not 29 year olds) plus don't they have an "over 30" rule, so that when they get to that age, they can only offer them 1 year contracts? If he goes, it's a shame and I will be gutted. If the routers are true, I can imagine Walshy is already sorting out a replacement. I'd be intruiged to see who that would be. Well, the BBC and the Mercury have confirmed the story, so there is flesh to the bone and not just a silly rumour.
Moksky Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 as long as u can justify u can afford to increase the wage bill, the premier league will accept. So we are fine in regards to increasing wages, due to our increase in revenue. Then personally I have no concern, I know theres a social media meltdown on this at the minute Arsenal may have triggered a release clause to put in bid and start negotiations, does not mean we have to sell at £20m, nor does it say formal negotitations have taken place. Some people are saying its a done deal. Those trolls who are hammering his wife on Twitter are not real Leicester fans, and ought to get a life
EastAnglianFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Walshy on twitter now reckons he aint going anywhere me ducks!
Guest LCFC_World Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 just no no no no no no no no Makes me feel sick.
Strokes Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Make no mistake this is a very serious bid from Arsenal. They're offering him £130,000 a week. We need to match that to make him stay.Let him go.
inckley fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If he does go, and we harbour any serious ambitions of keeping Mahrez, Kante, Drinkwater, then it's essential we start getting our own summer business underway as soon as possible. We'll need a serious demonstration of ambition to redress the balance. As for whether we offer him more money - well, we are trying to compete with the Arsenals of the world now. If we want do so convincingly, this is the sort of call we'll have to make again and again and again. A four year deal on that money for a guy who's nearly 30 is a lot, but I wonder whether the domino effect of him leaving could cost us a great deal more. I'm still not convinced by this buyout story though. If he didn't have a £20m buyout or lower before February, and bearing in mind nobody could buy him at that time of the year anyway, all we've achieved with that contract is to pay a player a lot more for a few months and then received below the odds for him. It seems unlikely that any negotiator would manage to be so stupid, so I'm sure there's more to this. Either he had a previous, lower buyout clause, or the buyout is significantly higher than £20m.
FoxCal Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I see both sides of the best of luck to him/if he goes he's dead to me arguments, as well as both sides of the why he could/shouldn't go. I'm having none of this 'we made him' nonsense, he made himself. However, we gave him the platform to do it, so as far as I'm concerned they cancel one another out. My biggest issue is that he outright pledged his future to us. If you do that and leave anyway, you're a snake. Personally, I don't know how I'll feel towards him if he goes to Arsenal under those circumstances. Grateful, but not necessarily positive.
Brown Fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I think it's safe to say following Bert's info that he's gone. As people have said if we raise his salary others will want the same. It's best to offer him what we can sensibly and allow him to make his decision. What will be will be. Berts been wrong on a multitude of occasions. I don't particularly believe anything he says just as I don't believe any of these random Twitter accounts saying it's 'done and dusted'. If he leaves it'll be for the money but in reality nothing concrete has appeared since yesterday, but people are running away with their own theories and some hearsay and coming to their own conclusions.
Jace Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Walshy on twitter now reckons he aint going anywhere me ducks! Walsh is on twitter?
TheMightySystem Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 At least this stops theorys that a player not on club advertisments means they are leaving. Would be annoyed if he leaves but will wish him luck.
Guest LCFC_World Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 After all he's said about staying, he can't blame some Lcfc fans for disliking him. I won't boo him if he moves, but I certainly won't be clapping.
EastAnglianFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Walsh is on twitter? Ah apologies for the confusion, I mean former player Steve Walsh who I believe is pretty friendly with the Vardy's.
noodles Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I think Arsenal only want to sign him as they are very short of home grown players for the champions league as the rumour is they are trying to offload Gibbs and Walcott. I do not think he will do that well at Arsenal but if he chooses to leave then I will not hold it against him as he has played a very big part in us winning the league which I never thought I would ever see us do that. PS does anyone know what sell-on percentage Fleetwood will get if he leaves. fleetwood get 25% of profit according to reports, makes the deal even worse
EGBFitness Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I see both sides of the best of luck to him/if he goes he's dead to me arguments, as well as both sides of the why he could/shouldn't go. Personally, I don't know how I'll feel towards him if he goes to Arsenal under those circumstances. Grateful, but not necessarily positive. Good post. True in regards to being a snake, not much difference between him and Delph last season. In fact maybe worse as he signed the contract and spoke of his respect of the club and less than a month ago spoke about not having his head turned.
Heymister2015 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Leicester need to show they mean business and sign Musa asap! Show the team what we mean
Wortho Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If Vardy is to leave it will be a sad loss. However why does it have to be Arsenal of all teams? I can't stand anything about the club especially their deluded fans. Jamie is a true legend
ronnup Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Worrying that it's being touted by the person who's writing his book. Maybe Vardy knows that the squad is going to get decimated this summer. That's starting to scare me a little.
LCFC FOX Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Walsh the ex player knows f all. He's just a fan like the lot of us
Jace Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 The bigger problem for me is if Vardy leaves others may too, I feel Mahrez and Kante are only here for the next season to see how far this current team can go in the Champions League. If Vardy leaves then that idea is gone anyway
Larry_LCFC Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 On a serious note, the cvnts sending abuse to him and his Mrs on twitter need to wind their ****ing necks in and stop helping him make his mind up to leave us. Really not helping.
Buce Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I'd probably do it for a grand to be fair. Nah, you'd pay more than that..
