kingpowerout Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I think when the club negotiated his champions league release clause they didn't anticipate on winning the league so it seemed realistic. Would everyone still be so irate if we had finished 14th and sold a 29 year old striker for £20M? Yes we've won the league but on paper Arsenal will be a more attractive proposal
Monsell1976 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Football is a short career, and in vardy's case even shorter, so if we offered him a very poor pay, I could understand him being turned, but I assume we have offered him a very good deal. So if it's true, and he does leave, it will be a stab in back of a club that took a gamble on him, was patient the first 18 months when he looked shit, and looked like he wouldn't step up. So for me Jamie needs to think about who took him from nothing, to a world name in football, before deciding to go to Arsenal. He will have to decide to be a big fish in a little pond, or a little fish in a big pond. All I will say is all clubs fans are fickle in a way, and if he doesn't hit the ground running at Arsenal, he will go from being adored at city, to being slated at Arsenal. There is already Arsenal fans stated he doesn't fit Arsenal possession football style. Be careful what you wish for, I reckon

Happy Fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 England National Team fly out to France on Monday so we will know more soonish.
MrSpaM Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I promise we're not selling kante and Mahrez and we'll match arsenals wages. done. Unfortunatly I haven't got confidence in any of it
inckley fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Mate it feels like you've seen half the convo and jumped on something by taking it the complete wrong way. Of course there is no comparison to the achievement of ours and what contribution Vardy has done to that. The point being made was as Delph, Vardy signed a new co tract mid way through a season and has publicly spoken about how he wants to stay at Leicester and not having his head turned etc etc which if reports are true, less than a month later joining a league rival. The conversation was with me in the first place! I said we shouldn't get into a debate about the morality of Vardy leaving, because we've not always behaved impeccably towards him, and some of us aren't now, Can I have some of what your smoking please Nugent was top goalscorer in the championship so certainly a more key player Staying up in the first place 5 goals all season 3 from Xmas 14/15 I think it's a huge discredit to the others involved as well as inaccurate to put our recent success down to a player that has flourished for one season Stop rewriting history. He was in the England side before this season on the merits of that season which you're now casually dismissing as a failure and, as for the second tier, just look back at this forum in 2013 and 2014, and you'll see how much credit Nugent was getting, as opposed to Vardy. And I said he was 'key', I didn't say he was 'the only key'. But to claim he's had one good season out of four is pure and utter drivel.
HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Express saying medical tomorrow and that **** wilshere persuaded him If he moves that quickly he can FOAD. Wheelchair persuaded him to have a medical because his on first name terms with all the staff, and has his own special ward
lgfualol Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Express saying medical tomorrow and that **** wilshere persuaded him If he moves that quickly he can FOAD. Alright. Let's all chip in for Huth to **** up Wilshere big time next season.
Corky Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 The class of 92 are all legends for United. Ronaldo was a great player for them but I wouldn't class him as a legend. The term is banded around far too much. I'm sorry but that's complete rubbish. Nicky Butt did more for Man United than Ronaldo?
sphericalfox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Alright. Let's all chip in for Huth to **** up Wilshere big time next season. you're assuming he'll be fit when we play them. 5000-1
orangecity23 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Alright. Let's all chip in for Huth to **** up Wilshere big time next season. For Huth to be able to do that, Wilshere would have to be fit and playing for Arsenal in the first place, lets be honest, that's not gonna happen is it. Wheelchair will soon be back to his natural and favoured position, smoking in the car park behind the treatment room.
Moksky Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Goal.com is about as reliable as chocolate fireguard - they have come in for him and its as much as that
Guest Lcfc82 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Whether he goes or stays, if you're abusing a club legend - and that's unquestionably what he is - you should reconsider why you even follow football. It's alright being annoyed I guess (although even that's a little premature) but to speak about him as if you hold him in contempt is just strange and wrong. It would take quite a lot for me to turn on a player who did this much for my club. If he jumps ship at the 1st opportunity after 1 good season he can't be called a club legend.
lildave3 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Read some crazy things in this thread but Ronaldo not being a legend takes the biscuit.
Dynamogoon Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just like to say well done to the so called LCFC fans abusing his misses on Twitter. Cos that's gonna pursuade him to stay you divs
ronnup Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 It's also highly possible that he never replicates this season again.
Fox 4 Life Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just like to say well done to the so called LCFC fans abusing his misses on Twitter. Cos that's gonna pursuaded him to stay you divs Absolute cvnts, sounds stupid but that could honestly have an impact on his decision.
ZeljkoKalac1 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If it is a four year 120k deal then fair play to the lad, and good luck to him. We'd all do the same!!!!!
lgfualol Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 For Huth to be able to do that, Wilshere would have to be fit and playing for Arsenal in the first place, lets be honest, that's not gonna happen is it. Wheelchair will soon be back to his natural and favoured position, smoking in the car park behind the treatment room. Shit, that's a good point. Wasilewski wont have a club, we'll give him some money to go **** him up.
Jace Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If anyone thinks being the key player in a season where we win the Premier League at 5000-1, breaks the Premier League consecutive game scoring record and scores 20+ goals in that season isn't worthy of becoming a club legend then they are suffering from very serious delusions of grandeur
EnglishOxide Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just like to say well done to the so called LCFC fans abusing his misses on Twitter. Cos that's gonna pursuade him to stay you divs I personally blame his lookalike for freaking him out. Also Roy Hodgson. If Vards is average for Arsenal over the next 2 years he is walking into the World Cup team and starting. If he performs to the exact same standard for us over them 2 years he is not even in the squad.
stevelcfc Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Absolute cvnts, sounds stupid but that could honestly have an impact on his decision. You honestly think Johnny, 11, from Warrington tweeting "**** off" would make any difference to a guy who receives abuse everyday
davieG Posted 4 June 2016 Author Posted 4 June 2016 Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri confirms Arsenal’s move for Jamie Vardy with 3 words to Gazzetta By Paul June 4, 2016 Comments0 Arsenal’s interest in Vardy is for realThe Premier League transfer market was jolted into life last night, with the Guardian’s report that Arsenal had triggered Jamie Vardy’s release clause. The news seemed to spring from nowhere and caught everybody by surprise, not least because 29-year-old Vardy is essentially the polar opposite of the archetypal Wenger transfer target. The fact that the news was leaked just as Arsenal were holding their end-of-season Q&A with the fans lead to some skepticism about the news; was it all just smoke and mirrors? But no: today a picture is emerging, and it appears that Arsenal’s interest in the Leicester striker is very real. Ranieri confirms itConfirmation has been provided by none other than Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri. Back in Italy on holidays after winning the Premier League title with the Foxes, Ranieri confirmed the story to Gazzetta dello Sport with 3 pithy words: ‘It’s all true.’ Presumably he wasn’t in much mood for talking or elaborating further, as he’s probably understandably disappointed at the prospect of losing his star striker. With Arsenal triggering his 20m pound release clause, there’s very little Leicester will be able to do to prevent him from leaving. If the player himself wants to move, that is… The report adds that Jack Wilshere played an instrumental role in convincing Vardy to sign for Arsenal.
Dan Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 There's a wider issue here that depresses me more than the actual transfer. It seemed like we had sparked others believing the elite could be beaten. And that it wouldn't take huge money to do so. Instead we have Vardy going to a side who haven't won the league since 04 and have fans on the manager's back. This and the shit Soton look like they'll go through again makes me think the so called big clubs can never truly be beaten. Just have to enjoy mixing with them whilst we can. This is what gets me down too. This transfer will symbolise more than anything else that money has 100% beaten the game.
