If we are going under the impression that vardy wants out, where could we barter on price if we wanted him to go to Liverpool instead of arsenal? We couldn't hold out for 50-60m when arsenal are further down the track and closing fast.

Well I didn't  post in the belief that he was going there or even that it was true in fact if you look at my post you should be able to see I was using it as a jest.

That being said doesn't  mean that it's  not possible.

Me thinks you're  taking my post too seriously

If he jumps ship at the 1st opportunity after 1 good season he can't be called a club legend.

I disagree with your conclusion and I disagree that he's only had one good season.

Think that is now the 2nd biggest thread on foxestalk.

Lots of dumb people, which doesn't ruin my argument that rational people don't bet with out a reason! Although there is a bandwagon and bubble effect obviously which can't be ruled out. But if you haven't done your own research then you are a fool and deserve to lose your money!

Also interesting to see our targets now. The main reason we countered for me was because we had the perfect striker for it. Do we replace him with another pacy player or start the transition into a more posession based game?

Weirdest transfer ever last person I expected Arsene to sign would be Jamie Vardy his 29 years of age never played for an elite club and has 100% peaked to his maximum this reminds me of Van Persie and Utd Ferguson practically bought him to get the goals to secure the league title for that 1 season.

On the plus side he counts as home grown, won't need time to adapt will cost £20mil which is good business and maybe can beat his tally for last season so hopefully 20+ goals.

Not to excited overall

Arsenal aren't an elite club.

Not won the title in over a decade and have never won a European cup.

Any thing on Arsenals offer is a bonus, why does it need to be 50-60m

Cuz if he wanted out and there was no buyout, we can name the price and he wouldn't go cheap. But now....anything goes.

you kinda answered your own question in the end

Pressing is the new passing imo. Why string 10 passes together to get to the halfway line when you can just win the ball in the same place?

I'm relaxed about this. I really want him to stay but realise that he isn't going to play for leicester forever. He has peaked with us, he won't get any better. He is a fine tuned athlete with one, maybe two more seasons at the top of his game left. He can enjoy his football here or go and get injured at Arsenal.

Like I say, I hope he stays but he needs replacing sooner or later.

Fleetwood getting a decent cut is the only positive I can take from this. Will be huge for them.

Also its very likely that halifax will get a cut of fleetwoods money and stocksbridge a cut of halifaxs. The money will transform all three.

Posted

there are no other clubs involved

There can only be Spurs and citeh (arsenal aprt) who could activate his release fee in this country as they are CL qualifiers..

Vardy will only go for the release fee. He cannot be sold for more. The club he wants to go to bids the release fee and he signs for them. The idea being that he will demand the difference between the release fee and his true value in a signing on fee.

This is probably the thirty eights time this has been posted over the past 24 hours. Hopefully no one will ask again.

Don't think it works like that. Could be wrong

Let's just wait and see what happens over the next 48 hours, and for those who have abused his wife you are fcuking pathetic and an embarrassment to our club.

I do not condone abuse in any form. The truth may be that Vardy's partner could have had a lot to do with all this. I posted a year or more ago that I had heard strong rumours that Vardy's girlfriend and advisors were telling Vardy he was too good for Leicester and should be at a 'big' club. The rumours came from a source that sort of 'knows' things, not necessarily transfer rumours, but machinations inside the club.

£20M release clause....... That would not have been put into Vardy's new contract if he had not demanded it. Vardy has been planning to leave. No question in my mind.

I do not like two faced runty little shits. I prefer honesty, and I would have felt a lot better if the £20M get clause had not been put in by Vardy. Then it would all have been quite fair, if we had received his true value.

If the deal with Arsenal is as good as done and Liverpool or Man Utd offer a few million over the release clause surely we accept in in the hope he goes to one of those two and we get slightly more money.

I can't believe this. Just doesn't make sense ...

From Jamie's own point of view it makes perfect sense. What would you have done in his place?

Posted

Could have gone down in football folklore with Leicester City, instead he'll join Arsenal's also rans.

He's just been top scorer in the (sorry for Dycheism) biggest underdog story of all time. I think he's got that covered already, probably doesn't matter too much to him whether we love him or not when half the football fans in the world do.

---

If he goes to Arsenal I'll find it fairly easy to get over it to be honest. I know I shouldn't, but he'd be much easier to deal with losing emotionally than Kante or Mahrez because as good as he is, he's nowhere near as likeable. He'd be a massive loss from a footballing perspective though, obviously.

what about if Liverpool bid 30 million, the clubs knows his is leaving so decide to accept Liverpools bid?

if you think about it, this is the Leicester way. Ups and downs, we win the league, then all hope is lost. We lose our talismen.

After such a big downer, their will be another up. We win the champions league with Troy Deeney & Admiral Muskwe upfront :D

If halifax had a clause when they sold him to fleetwood that gave them a percentage of any profit fleetwood make (which I think they do) I think it still applies, so fleetwood would have to give them a percentage of the 5 million they will get.

Maybe but I'd guess they just get profit from the £1m we bought him for

Of course he could be sold for more, but it would mean he'd have to reject Arsenal (Spurs or Man City) and we'd have to accept an offer from another club, and then he'd have to agree terms with them.

I'm disappointed but I can't be the only one that doesn't mind at the price? I'd like him to stay ofcourse, but the foundations for the club are set and he will without doubt be replaced.. I think we are strong enough not to worry too much about it, Kante is a bigger worry for me :(
