Vardy

There's possibly a problem with trying to sign someone up to replace Vardy, hence any hold-up/quietness.

1/10 now with the bookies, that's normally the writing on the wall with transfers

bookies prices mean fvck all in these kinds of things.

Could have gone down in football folklore with Leicester City, instead he'll join Arsenal's also rans.

Everything we've become is the antithesis of Arsenal. Genuinely gutted that he'd sooner turn his back on the people who gave him his chance in football for a 10% pay rise.

He's the top dog here, we're the champions of England and we're in the Champions League next season. The only reason you'd leave is money and if he leaves then he ruins my opinion of him.

He won't be remembered as fondly as the rest if he ditches us for money.

plus all those sneaky fckers that knew and lumped on weeks ago when the odds dropped

Some thoughts, pretty random really..

- That release clause meant something and was put there for a purpose. LCFC management MUST have been aware of the implications, and can hardly be surprised when it was triggered

- especially as he has been hawked around other top clubs. Again, management, who have their own intelligence networks, will have been well aware of this activity

- That implies that they must have had a plan B in store. Management are men of the world about this sort of thing. So let's trust in the scouts

- And in the owners too – their ambitions are not less than they were a few weeks ago

- In footballing terms it's a bad move for him……a trophy signing for Arsenal so that Wenger can show that he is 'doing something. ' He will not be central to arsenal in the way he was here and suspect he won't enjoy it as much either

- But at his age he would be mad not to turn down silly money, as his agent will have stressed. The chance would not come again

- deep inside, he might even suspect that he couldn't have a season like the last one anyway

- His future focus may not even be on football now anyway – he is probably influenced by David Beckham's attempts to turn himself into an international brand, and I feel sure his Mrs will have encouraged him in that

- If so, London is the place to be, not Leicester, and still less Melton

- He doesn't owe us anything. Rightly or wrongly, in this day and age your only loyalty is to yourself. No point in being loyal to your boss because he won't be loyal to you. The days of 20 year careers at Corahs or Wildt Mellor Bromley are long gone

- The Band of Brothers thing was real – our success was built in the Championship and forged in the Great Escape. It shows that is possible. BUT it doesn't counteract the point above, and all the rest of the team will fully understand – time will come when the have choices to make too

Personally, sad, and depressed that even winning the Premiership doesn't really count for jack shit in this money-grubbing world. I suppose I was a bit naive too

Yet to me, today, a born and bread Fox, it's all overshadowed by the passing of Muhammed Ali. He wasn't just a great sportsman – he was a great man. Just my own personal perspective, that's all

Great post.

So the release clause is set at £22m roughly, does this mean we have to sell at £22m or simply that if someone meets that price Vardy can talk to the team and we can hold out for a bigger transfer fee?

Exactly.

They're responding to all of the Arsenal fans putting a tenner on it. It's got nothing to do with hat is actually happening..

This is the time they do mean something. People put money on what they may have heard and along the grape vine. News, friends, etc. all counts and means people make rational decisions to bet.

The odds from betting on the outcome of a game mean nothing. That's just based on past performances, and anyone can beat anyone on any given day.

They may be offering 5,000-1 for him to stay. Shall we risk a tenner?

Member of the media tried to have 2500/7500 on him leaving that was Thursday ! Was refused the bet and offered 500/1250 which he took

That presumes the "management", ie. Rudkin, has the faintest idea what he's actually doing.

5000/1 to win the league

Preki was odds on to be our next manager

Assuming that Wilshere getting in Vardy's ear is true, it's funny to think that if he hadn't been chosen for the England squad, when he really shouldn't have been, and Drinkwater had been chosen, which he certainly should have been, this whole thing might have been avoided.

I blame Roy.

That clause is even more ridiculous if we're giving Fleetwood 25%

the Fleetwood 25% thing would have always been there since we signed him. Whether we sold him for £2m or £200m, Fleetwood would always get 25%.

Why does it mean something? They're just reacting to a wave of money being bet on his move. So bring down the odds so they lose less money when it inevitably happens. The bookies have no influence on this kind of move.

One of the most overrated players ever - Jack 'the crab' Wilshere as he moves slowly from side to side

Shut up you clown. You heard anything from Vardy on the matter?

Erm that is what his agent is for hahaha.

Jesus Christ. You think his agent just acts without input from hus customer. Jesus christ man.

Weirdest transfer ever last person I expected Arsene to sign would be Jamie Vardy his 29 years of age never played for an elite club and has 100% peaked to his maximum this reminds me of Van Persie and Utd Ferguson practically bought him to get the goals to secure the league title for that 1 season.

On the plus side he counts as home grown, won't need time to adapt will cost £20mil which is good business and maybe can beat his tally for last season so hopefully 20+ goals.

Not to excited overall

True - but I doubt he had total carte blanche, and he can't have been the only person to know about that release clause
