Excellent pro Gareth Barry. If you look at their career stats, Giggs played a lot of 20-25 game seasons from his early 30's onwards. Barry has always played 30 plus games, every season. All those 5, or 10 or even 15 extra matches add up.
Donut Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 West Ham's approach to signing players was......well there wasnt one. They just signed random players everywhere. They were never that good. They got a few big unexpected results that made people sit up last season. People dont talk about them conceding 4 at home to Bournemouth. Or 3 to Swansea. Or 4 vs Spurs.....etc you get the point.

Giggs would have been rotated a lot more too considering throughout his career, Man Utd would have been competing on all fronts much more than Villa/Man City/Everton
ajthefox Posted 17 September 2016 Posted 17 September 2016 Just had a look, hadn't thought about it but Giggs' first two seasons weren't even in the PL. Christ.

Dan Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 I think it's quite good for us that both West Ham & Southampton look to have gone backwards. I think realistically we were going to be fighting with teams like them this season. West Ham's defending was astonishing. 8 goals shipped to Watford & West Brom in a week.
UPinCarolina Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 #NoDrinkyNoPinky Yep, that's the whole season right there.

Like last year, when they won 15/15 points, without even conceding a goal? Though they then went through an injury crisis and didn't have the same depth they do now. So far in the Prem, they won against Sunderland, an awful Stoke, an awful West Ham, a Man United that Jose completely fvcked up for that game, and Bournemouth. They've dazzled, KdB has been amazing, Fernandinho too, and Sterling looks like he has the potential to be worth what they payed. But I'm not convinced.

I'm not totally biased towards Leicester like some people appear to be. Always loved watching Arsenal though, just like I like watching Everton at the minute, Liverpool too.

Just wondering, you just always seem to be cooing over them.

To be honest I'm not sure I don't follow them that closely I just thought it was a very attacking team when I seen the lineup and the way the pundits was on about it I assumed it had massively changed

Sharpe's Fox Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 After making a fuss about not playing Rooney at CM Mourihno puts him in midfield. Just drop the fat turd and play Mkhitaryan.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Said this two weeks ago...what price West Ham to be relegated? They leak goals like a sieve. Bilic looks out of ideas to me.

Finnegan Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 Jesus, imagine if we'd spent thirty million on Deeney instead of Slimani.
Vacamion Posted 18 September 2016 Posted 18 September 2016 For once, the lads on Sunday Supplement had it right this morning. Squeezing Rooney into sides (Man Utd and England) diminishes those sides. And he gets paid 300 large a week.
