Bert Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 First warm up game tomorrow. Would like to see something like this, bearing in mind the United and some Liverpool players aren't there. Forster Walker Cahill Stones Rose Dier Drinkwater Wilshere Alli Kane Vardy
boots60 Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 Cant argue with much there Bert though I reckon Bertrand is a more "composed" full back than Rose.
Wymsey Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 How good are Turkey? Only player I know is Arda Turan. Not really keen on Stones, who hasn't been at his best for a while.
Fox92 Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 How good are Turkey? Only player I know is Arda Turan. Not really keen on Stones, who hasn't been at his best for a while. A decent manager would turn him into a good centre half.
Larry_LCFC Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 So he's said in his PC that he knows what the players can do and he'll be starting his strongest team in all the friendlies. Now watch him start Rooney.
Raw Dykes Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 So he's said in his PC that he knows what the players can do and he'll be starting his strongest team in all the friendlies. Now watch him start Rooney. It's inevitable, sadly. Thankfully, Rooney won't be playing tomorrow, at least.
Harry96 Posted 21 May 2016 Posted 21 May 2016 Alli and wilshere definitely starting tomorrow apparently. Can't see drinky starting. Will probably be a diamond with sterling in behind and dier in midfield
StanSP Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 Bit of a shame Smalling got sent off yesterday and is now suspended for this.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 Hodgson may keep Dier on the bench to start with given he's no other centre half cover... then again, that would require forethought!
LCFC FOX Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 Drinkwater and Wilshere are the best partnership in my opinion with Alli behind the strikers just like you stated. That would be my team for the euros too the only change I'd make is Smalling for Stones and Hart for Forster
whoareyaaa Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 I think it's a crime if wilshere is ahead of drinky after playing hardly any football all season while the other has had the season of his career and won the Prem. ****ing disgusting I don't care how good wilshere is.
ousefox Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 I think it's a crime if wilshere is ahead of drinky after playing hardly any football all season while the other has had the season of his career and won the Prem. ****ing disgusting I don't care how good wilshere is.Agreed. Plus how many league titles has wilshere won?
whoareyaaa Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 Agreed. Plus how many league titles has wilshere won? Exactly, plus if the manager had any sense he would know to play the players to there strengths with combinations such as Drinky and Vardy then you have Kane, Ali and Dier who know each other's games and will work for each other. Or play sterling, wilshere and henderson who have no connection what so ever, wtf has Sterling done to warrant a place shocking player, rather take Wallcott
Guest BlueBrett Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 I'll be pretty peeved if Drinky doesn't start but you have to think Woy didn't expand the squad to include Wilshere and Henderson for no reason
kingfox Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 Hart Walker Stones Cahill Rose Dier Wilshere Lallana Alli Sterling Kane That's what he'll go with today.
Harry96 Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 Hart Walker Stones Cahill Rose Dier Wilshere Lallana Alli Sterling Kane That's what he'll go with today. no will be a midfield 3 of dier wilshere Alli with sterling/Barkley behind Vardy Kane. None of the Liverpool players are playing
kingfox Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 no will be a midfield 3 of dier wilshere Alli with sterling/Barkley behind Vardy Kane. None of the Liverpool players are playing Then he will stick Townsend or Vardy on the wing.
davieG Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 As they are in the provisional squad it's hardly a surprise if he chooses Wilshire and Henderson ahead of Drinkwater as he needs to determine their fitness one way or the other. He'll know that Drinkwater is fit and what he can do.
Harry96 Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 Drinkwater will hopefully get about 20-30 minutes today, and a start vs Australia or Portugal before the tournament actually starts
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 I see Roy's trying to contrive a desired formation despite not having the players to play all the positions. I'd have more respect for him if he didn't play Vardy altogether (in the wide position) and played someone who naturally does, but the fact he dumps strikers on the wings to achieve it should tell him he its not workable / making the best out of the players he's got. The situation is quite simple... play a bloody 4-4-2, it will work with this group of,players much better than anything else.
davieG Posted 22 May 2016 Posted 22 May 2016 England XI vs Turkey: Hart; Walker, Stones, Cahill, Rose; Dier, Wilshere, Alli; Sterling, Kane, Vardy
