Retained List / Transfers Out - when ?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know when City will be notifying everyone of the Retained List or who will be put on the Transfer list ?

I would guess there will be Frees for Liam Moore, Ben Hamer, Mark Schwarzer, Paul Konchesky and Was (and quite a few of the U 20's - including Blyth)  - and De Laet, Benalouane, Kramaric and possibly Inler and Tom Lawrence will be available for a fee ?

Why would we let players who are still in contract go for free  lol

I'm sure Hamer would be allowed to go for free.

One year left on his contract and no chance of playing for the first team or being a future first team player. The only reason we keep him is because he still has a year left and may as well be here if we have a GK injury crisis than release him and pay his contract up.

Keep Hamer (no point in getting rid of two goalkeepers), Moore and possibly Inler for me. Kramaric must have somesort of ability too.

Looks like Hamer has had some sort of op that has him out of any training over the summer so he wont be available as back up at the start of the season.

I would of thought another year would be sensible hopefully

I spoke to Was at the awards night a few weeks back - he doesn't think he'll be offered a new contract. He looked absolutely gutted, mentioned how hard it was to move his family here and how he's going to have to move them on again now.

I personally think he deserves another year, been generally solid when called upon. True gent as well

I think Liam Moore has another year left on his contract and I believe Ben Hamer has two years left. Hamer has had some work done on his foot but it's not a major thing. He was doing some upper body work in the gym earlier today.

My feeling is that Wasyl will be offered another one year deal. Apparently he is an absolute true professional and is a great guy to have around the squad. I imagine that there will be another centre back coming in but squad players who don't rock the boat will still be needed. He would get very limited game time but I imagine he will accept that scenario.

I hope he stays. Top bloke.

I hope he does get a new contract, even if he is only a bit part player again next season.

We've already shown that team spirit forms the backbone of our success so if we can hold on to as many that epitomise this, the better. Gradually we can let those that play infrequently go as replacements arrive and settle in rather than having a clear out and adding too many new faces.

Cant see us getting more than 5 or £6m for Krammy at best if he is to be jettisoned. Dont think that will be too big a loss as he cant have done enough to activate some of the clauses which would whack up last years fee to the full £9m.

Many outlets still report Ulloa as our record signing so perhaps he has only cost us 6 or £7m so far.

You don't appear to know very much about how contracts work.

Perhaps I'm being a bit sentimental but I too believe Was should get another year and perhaps chance to do some work towards his coaching badge if it appeals to him.

Quite apart from still being a decent defender when given the chance, the bloke has a presence and exactly the kind of attitude which has made our team so successful. I can't imagine him being anything but a positive influence at the club, rather like Kingy.

Positive people who played such a big part in consistent and latterly unprecedented success are probably good to have around not just for their ability but for emphasising to the new people arriving what our team and our club expect from players in terms of attitude and commitment and setting that standard themselves.

The "positive" part of that sentence is emphasised because having displaced/back-up/occasional players around who are bitter or resentful, has quite the opposite effect. .

Was off the pitch is the definition of a gentle giant. I'd love him to stay here for a year or two more, even if the only game time he gets is 15 minutes up front against Anderlecht in the CL when we're already through lol
