Makes contracts pointless. They allow it? that's ridiculous! They like us, like Swansea, like etc, etc can not compete with what a player wants. Success for clubs like us can and usually does come at a price and we have our limits! Last season was a freak of a season, we were worthy Champions but we haven't all of a sudden become Real Madrid! Progressing as a club and hoping as many players stay is the best we can hope for. Unfortunately loyalty isn't a trait that is shared by many players nowadays Winning the PL did not smash that glass ceiling, we got a peak into it. I'm hoping that his reluctance to sign this new contract is because he feels he deserves a higher wage, rather than him wanting out all together.
