Mahrez - Arsenal

Seriously, if we want to keep some of the best players in Europe at our club we are going to have to do dish out a couple of 100k a week contracts, just do it Rudkin or whoever does this shit. Losing Kante and Mahrez would be a whole lot worse than losing an extra 15 grand a week

I know it's only photos but mahrez looks so happy in Austria, just hope being back in that team environment convinces him to give it one more this year.

We were happy for Kante to make the French team but maybe that's come back to bite us. Had he not been exposed to the contact with the international scene and rave reviews from the press, but instead got back into training with the lads, maybe a chance that he would have been encouraged to stay. Having said that, others have pointed out that he never seemed quite as integrated as the rest of the squad.

Let's hope Mahrez's head doesn't get turned.

Maybe Claudio shouldn't have invited this eventuality by stating we would not stand in the way of anyone who wants to leave ?

I'm hoping that this is posturing by his representitives to get whatever we have offered him increased

I think he was quite right to say what he said. We don't want to keep any player at the club who doesn't want to be here. We did what we did due to togetherness. That can't be ruined for anything. If Mahrez or anyone makes it quite clear that they want out, we must try to persuade them to stay but if we can't, we must let them go.

That's always been the case in football.

Absolutely agree Col

Besides with all due respect to whoever the player is it if they don't want to play for Leicester in my eyes they can **** off (with thanks for their service obviously lol)

I can't get my head around it for two reasons. Firstly he looked in good form on the Austria photos and also with a second baby on the way, I really can't see him abroad to an 'European club'

They allow it? that's ridiculous!

They like us, like Swansea, like etc, etc can not compete with what a player wants. Success for clubs like us can and usually does come at a price and we have our limits!

Last season was a freak of a season, we were worthy Champions but we haven't all of a sudden become Real Madrid! Progressing as a club and hoping as many players stay is the best we can hope for. Unfortunately loyalty isn't a trait that is shared by many players nowadays

Winning the PL did not smash that glass ceiling, we got a peak into it. I fully expect the bigger teams to once again rule supreme on and off the pitch

There's a difference though. We are playing in the world's biggest club competition next season. Show us loyalty, play in the biggest shop window and if it gets to January, we ain't having a great season by all means move on.

Swansea and Southampton's peaks were the Europe League. Every player what left went to clubs playing or challenge to play in the Champions League.

Not even arsed anymore. If players don't want to be here then thanks for the memories but kindly **** off so we can concentrate on the ones that do. Don't forget where you were before City took you on and coached you all into premier league champions

No we aren't Real Madrid but we are the premier league champions who are in the champions league. Something Southampton and Swansea never have been.

My point about Southampton is they roll over to every players demands, we should play hardball with these guys and show that contracts do mean something. Kante I get, he had a clause but Mahrez must not be able to take us hostage and engineer a move. Chuck him in the reserves if that's what it takes.

which other players will want to sign for us if we treat players like that

success has been based on a team game, if people dont want to be part of the team they are a hinderance thats why cr has said he wont stand in anyones way who doesnt want to play for leicester

You can't be serious. These players signed contracts when the club's expectations were far more modest that what these players achieved. Mahrez and Co. helped the club earn a helluva more revenue and prestige than expected, and deserve to be paid accordingly.

Leicester City FC has an incredible personal connection to many of us but let's not forget that these are are people and jobs we're talking about.

Of course they deserve payrises and they should get those. What they shouldn't be allowed to do is tear up legal contracts by engineering moves away.

If he's got no release clause he can stay and his agent can suck a bag of dicks

Exactly.

Ok Riyad you're welcome to leave. We value you and Kante at £100 million between you. Unfortunately we got shafted on the Kante deal so the starting price is £70 million.

If he goes for any less than £40 million in this market then it's a disgrace.

Exactly if they want to be failures at other clubs, sitting in the bench at places like arseholes and Chelsea then let them do it, money grabbing whores.

That's not true. Our owners clearly stated, and reiterated, their ambition and aims for the club, which was to establish it as a top Prem side which would compete in Europe. I'm sure this intent will have been conveyed to incoming players as one of the incentives to join us. The only surprise is that it came a year or two ahead of plan.

If we lose both him and Kante I'm ****ing done with football, why is it that these "big" clubs are so ****ing incapable of scouting their own players and just decide to rip them off any club who's done well.
