new_york_paris_leicester Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Would you go ? I mean English teams have played Russian sides hundreds of times and nothing ever major as happened but after the last couple of days created a real nasty rivalry now abit like turkey after the Leeds game. Me personally I Would still go but be very careful, think their be much more trouble if they came over here for a game. Even though, they don't travel well. If they bring 100 Sted heads gonna be carnage in town. Add the fact Leicester as a big polish population into it aswell.
AKCJ Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 Wouldn't have gone either way to be honest. An absolute arse to get to, would have to piss about with visas if I wanted to stay for more than 24 hours and the country has a massive racism problem which really riles me. Never saw the appeal before and now that it's a certainty that i'd get my head kicked in, I definitely won't be going if we draw CSKA.
new_york_paris_leicester Posted 14 June 2016 Author Posted 14 June 2016 I don't know anymore, think Russia now will play on this image next year of being these big warriors and any english side who goes over will be targeted, even if you're not there for a fight. Can't see Moscow away selling out quickly.
VLC86 Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I doubt it, I wouldn't like to get the feeling I got wandering around Marseille after the match which is a massive shame. The difference if we ended up in Italy would be the way fans are transported to the ground. For domestic matches the away supporters are bussed in and out of the ground so shouldn't be too much of a problem. Makes you think though.
bovril Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 I was thinking Moscow or St Petersburg would be an excellent away trip but I wouldn't go now. I'd like to go to Russia some time but not if it has anything to do with a football match. There's nowhere else that worries me really.
ScouseFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 it's a right shame, everyone i know who follows liverpool away ranks zenit away and kazan away in recent years as their best away trips. probably sour it a bit if i died though.
sylofox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Russia away lol might as well hang yourself and save the money. Also after you have been battered the police will rob you. Just hope you get deported and not a year in nick
Leicester Rule! Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Before this tournament I would have, but following the events in Marseille and being in the main square when it all kicked off, I've got my doubts I will now. There's rumours of a Leicester fan seriously injured after the events on Saturday and hopefully he will recover ASAP
Fox92 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Surely you'll be ok as long as you're not wandering around in a Leicester shirt. I've not fancied Russia mind, would rather a trip to Netherlands or Germany or even Italy (although I know Italians are very passionate about it all too).
justfoxes Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 The Russian ultras have shown that they are not just football hooligans but some are highly trained organised thugs who would not think twice about cracking someone over the head with a crowbar or knifing someone, my mates over in france and he's seen first hand the organised thugs ! He's mentioned at times it looks almost military the way they flank their victims, now this is a lad who travels quite often with England and sometimes does arrange his holidays around some tournaments and he's said after seeing the awful violence in France and the ferocity of the Russian thugs he's really thinking twice about missing the World Cup in Russia as England fans safety can definitely not be guaranteed in a corrupt racist country ! But if they cause more trouble in France not only should the Russians be disqualified from the tournament but FIFA should seriously look into removing the World Cup from Russia !
Bayfox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Being honest, having see the levels they are willing to go to. No won't get me out there now.

Just hope you get deported and not a year in nick I seem to be the only one hoping we get a Russian team. Moscow or St Petersburg (isn't it more likely to be Rostov than Petersburg at the moment?) are fantastic places to visit. But then again I do have Russian friends so perhaps that makes me see both sides.
coastworth999 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 I'm looking forward to us drawing a Russian team as I live in Moscow! i have followed torpedo Moscow both home and away for the last three years, probably as one of the worst reputations in Russian football. So feel I have an ok insight. In Russian football your on your own and have no protection from stewards or police but for European games it's a lot well organized by the authorities. We wouldn't get Cska as there a top seed, if you did there would be buses laid onto the stadium., also we could arrange a bar to drink at before the game that would be secure. The difficulties you would encounter would be traveling on the metro in a group at night and drinking after the game on your own, that's when they would like to make a surprise attacks. Zenit, you would have to remain cautious but a beautiful city and be ok. I hope we would get Rostov, they are called the Russian Leicester and they would weclone us with open arms. Really what happened in Marseille has been getting off lightly, as the two main ultra groups from Cska and Spartak have been stopped from going and they are formidable. What your seeing in France are Lokomotiv ultras who came by land and lots of ultras from small clubs out in the country (like shrewsbury, burnley) such as kaluga, Kazan, oryol. They have never really encountered English fans and want to make a name for themselves. But if you keep your senses about yourself, don't mouth off, don't be to drunk, and know when to leave your be alright. It's worked ok for me here so far. But . 90% of Russians are great and they really love the English culture, especially the women!

You could certainly see a lot of Lokomotiv ultras in their black t-shirts on TV footage. Would you say there is a lot of hooliganism in Russian football between Russian teams. A friend of mine went to a Kazan Vs Moscow team (apologies cannot remember which) game in Moscow and there was a massive police presence due to hooliganism. Sadly, reminds me of how UK football used to be in the 80s.
4ever and ever Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 We can only draw a Russian side if Rostov qualify. CSKA are in the same pot as us, so hopefully Rostov get knocked out in qualifying and we dont have to worry about this.

Captain... Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Due to work I probably wouldn't be able to get out to all 3 matches, of the countries we could draw I think Russia would be the least desirable, Israel would be tough but I have a mate out there, although it looks like their representative won't qualify anyway, Kazakhstan, whilst not high on my list of priorities, would be preferable to Russia. Seeing as Rostov Astana and Hapoel Beer-Sheva are not tipped to qualify from the predicted pots here: http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/seedcl2016.html It will be 3 teams from these countries: Esp Ger Por Ita Ned Cze Bel Aut Sco Cyp Tur Sui Ukr Gre Fra

Outside the stadium the riot police are in vast numbers, they literally pen you in, but you will get a few charges. But there is a lot of trouble in the stadiums, they normally keep the ultras at different ends, but they live to invade the different stands and normally have to kick in a metal door to get in, which is why they probably couldn't Believe there luck with the stewarding on Saturday. Probably the worst unexpected violence is on the trains, where they will just come steaming through, and the forest fights to really test themselves, so no situation foxes fans would ever find themselves in!!
wight88 Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Never mind the away trip, can see every self-styled English firm heading our way for the home fixture.
Lestoh Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Petersburg's hella beautiful, just wear a tshirt saying I LOVE PUTIN in big Cyrilic letters and it'll be a reyt nice trip
BrummieFOX Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 Just get that bloke to knock up a few Leicester/CSKA Alliance badges and we'll be sweet.
4everfox Posted 15 June 2016 Posted 15 June 2016 There is no reason to be afraid if you take the Braunstone Massive with you
