stix Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Fail to beat Russia and Slovakia and England fan thinks that's great. Says it all tbqh £20 to the forum says England get further than Wales. If we both go out at the same stage I'll give a tenner.
GaelicFox Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Harry Kane is set to reclaim his starting position for England's Euro 2016 clash against Iceland, with Roy Hodgson ready to drop Jamie Vardy for the second round tie in Nice on Monday. Kane, last season's 25-goal Premier League top scorer, was relegated to the substitutes' bench by Hodgson for the Group B encounter with Slovakia last Monday after failing to score against Russia and Wales in England's previous two group games. LOL LOL Kane LOL LOL
Beliall Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Also, I'm not too sure if this game is suitable for Vardy. He wouldn't have enough room to get in behind their solid enough defence. Having said that, I don't know if anyone else would be a much more suitable player I'd play Sturridge up front for this game, personally. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYxULfwV9ws
Mikey Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYxULfwV9ws Yeah if we had someone like Riyad then maybe... If England were in that position it would go back to the right back and to the centre backs, or back into midfield.
Beliall Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Yeah if we had someone like Riyad then maybe... If England were in that position it would go back to the right back and to the centre backs, or back into midfield. Aint that the truth
KFS Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Yeah if we had someone like Riyad then maybe... If England were in that position it would go back to the right back and to the centre backs, or back into midfield. So true
Danno Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Very nice of the Europeans to let you lot stay in !Haha !!!!!!
WigstonWanderer Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Think Jamie's better off out of this shambles
Jordan Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Without the ball, Iceland are outstandingly disciplined structurally, and very physical. I wouldn't say this about most English teams, but I look at the youth and wavering confidence among this English squad, and I do wonder whether they can be pushed around and bullied. I think England would do well to play 4-4-2 with Dier at the base of the midfield. I'd like to see Kane and Vardy, like lots of others, but mostly because I think England will need a tall forward that can play with his back to goal at the top of the box to attract a defender, lay off passes, and help create channels through Iceland's two banks of four.

Which would be alright, but Harry "zero assists" Kane is a tad selfish, so will probably try and turn and shoot, wherever he is.
Bayfox Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 If we don't win this we need a bit of a spanking...time for a bit of inspiration maybe? Ummm.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Had a bit too much to drink last night which resulted in drunkenly booking the Eurostar and Digs for the quarter finals lol

GaelicFox Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Had a bit too much to drink last night which resulted in drunkenly booking the Eurostar and Digs for the quarter finals lol Can I sleep on floor if ireland pull off a miracle ?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Can I sleep on floor if ireland pull off a miracle ? You can certainly have my Eurostar and bed if we don't make it (not joking) it's cost me 250 all in Saturday til Monday
GaelicFox Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 You can certainly have my Eurostar and bed if we don't make it (not joking) it's cost me 250 all in Saturday til Monday Wow that's great value
Carl the Llama Posted 25 June 2016 Posted 25 June 2016 Iceland are a better side than people seem to be giving them credit for, let's not forget they had a strong qualifying campaign coming 2nd in their group with just 2 defeats away from home to eventual group winners the Czech Republic as well as away to Turkey, beating an admittedly weaker than we've come to expect Netherlands squad twice (though tbh are the Netherlands really any worse than this England squad?). If we do win it'll be a grinding shithouse victory. Fully expect to go out on penalties though.
Dan Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 1-0 England. Think it'll be similar to most of the other games but we will eventually find a way through in injury time. Not confident though, these in theory should be beaten soundly but they're ridiculously good for the size of the place, they're better than two sides we've failed to beat already, by no means is it a stroll. You've just got to hope we take the few clear chances we get otherwise we'll get another shambles like Monday just gone. They'll be happy to let us dominate and they'll be more dangerous on the break than Slovakia too.
Munshi Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Walker has been Englands best player so far and will be key against Iceland.
Aus Fox Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 2-0 Cahill and Smalling with goals from ser pieces (providing Harry Kane isn't taking them). The sort of game where it would be great if we took acouple of wingers in the squad and went 442. With the squad we have got to look at the diamond Dier Milner Ali Rooney Vardy Kane
The Year Of The Fox Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Wow that's great value Before the Slovakia game when our quarter final could've been either in Lille or Paris the Eurostar to Paris was 100 quid less than what we paid, so the prices will only increase
GaelicFox Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Before the Slovakia game when our quarter final could've been either in Lille or Paris the Eurostar to Paris was 100 quid less than what we paid, so the prices will only increase If ireland pull off the shocks of shocks I'll be on the iPad during game and book straight away
dylanlegend Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Think we should mix it up and go with: The classic 3-5-2 O'Neill formation, England have no width so it makes sense we have this formation and the wing backs provide the width. GK: Hart CB: Smalling CDM: Dier CB: Cahill RWB: Walker LWB: Rose CM: Wilshere (should be Drinky tho) CM: Rooney AMC: Alli CF: Kane CF: Vardy
Donut Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Ive got a revolutionary new tactic for this game, if Iceland are defending deep. Its called "Put the ball in the fvcking box". I mean go flat out Wimbledon up in this bitch. If theyre defending deep, a centre half or full back can advance with the ball and play a deep cross. Put the ball in the box. Then win the header, or win the 2nd ball in and around the box, and bury it. No passing, no neat triangles, no oooh we can break them down Put 100 high balls in their box and watch em end up conceding from 1 or 2 of them.
Dodgy Bob Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Hodgson says he is "prepared to carry on" after the tournament but "that's different to wanting it". He's "not prepared to beg" apparently. A lot of arrogance for a man who has failed in every tournament he has been in with England.
