atomicfox Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Pray for an early goal or this one's going to be a war of attrition with Iceland having most of their side hanging around the box and England not having enough guile to break them down
Fox42 Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Also, I'm not too sure if this game is suitable for Vardy. He wouldn't have enough room to get in behind their solid enough defence. Having said that, I don't know if anyone else would be a much more suitable player I'd play Sturridge up front for this game, personally.
Finnegan Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 4-1, Sturridge, Rooney, Kane, Alli I'm guessing you haven't watched either Iceland or England in this tournament!!! No chance of it being a five goal game.
Jon the Hat Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Watched both. Things are going to change now we are into the knockout phases. Iceland will concede, and then will have to be more attacking so will concede again, then their heads will drop and we win comfortably.
Ric Flair Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 As always with England an early goal is crucial. Get it and we're pretty much set up to see out the game with a win. Don't get one and it could be hideous to watch.

I think you'll win fairly comfortably, by the way, I just don't think it'll be that high scoring at all.
Tuna Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Iceland's tactics will most likely be to get to penalties and hope England bottle it, which with the overabundance of spuds players in the squad is highly likely!

J.Lisemore Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Watched both. Things are going to change now we are into the knockout phases. Iceland will concede, and then will have to be more attacking so will concede again, then their heads will drop and we win comfortably. Absolutely no chance we score 4 goals . We'll score 1 and soak up Iceland pressure for the rest of the match.
Donut Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 They might be the smallest nation in the competition, but taking local rivalry out of the equation, Im sure these possess more quality than the likes of a Northern Ireland, and are arguably better from what ive seen than nations like Slovakia so far just in performances in this tournament form wise. It wont be a pushover.
Jon the Hat Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 We have one game in every tournament where we click and look good, before failing miserably in the next match. This is that game.
Finnegan Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 We have one game in every tournament where we click and look good, before failing miserably in the next match. This is that game. Uhhhh.... you've had that game, you beat the group B winners in a blip for both teams.
ScouseFox Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 We have one game in every tournament where we click and look good, before failing miserably in the next match. This is that game. this hasn't happened since about 2004 really. last World Cup we were rubbish 3 times, euros before that we were pretty rubbish 4 times, World Cup before that we were awful 4 times. Euro 2004 we should've won because we were amazing a lot of times in a row. this is the same. 3 great games and just carry it on. Rooney and Owen not to get injured this time and we get to be champions. simple.
Finnegan Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Fail to beat Russia and Slovakia and England fan thinks that's great. Says it all tbqh
Wymsey Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Slovakia were quite decent at times. England dare to beat Russia, as they were worried Russia fans would turn even more violent if they did beat them. @@Finnegan
GaelicFox Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Very nice of the Europeans to let you lot stay in !
ScouseFox Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Fail to beat Russia and Slovakia and England fan thinks that's great. Says it all tbqh annihilating the lowest of the low (andorra, san marino, wales etc) and playing well but coming up short against the slightly better teams. classic england.
Matt Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 We have one game in every tournament where we click and look good, before failing miserably in the next match. This is that game. The was 45 minutes v Russia and 45 minutes v Wales, so technically they've had the one game.
AKCJ Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 annihilating the lowest of the low (andorra, san marino, wales etc) and playing well but coming up short against the slightly better teams. classic england. You're forgetting about the one great friendly result against one of the elite sides every two/three years to keep the optimism flowing.
lcfcfoz Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Can't wait for the big 4 nations to get to the Semi finals, so I can start watching some quality football, Croatia v Wales and Spain v France, roll on the 5th and 6th of July
Tuna Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 If we don't win this we need a bit of a spanking...time for a bit of inspiration maybe?
