foxy boxing Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 so will dave be remembered for the guy who gave us our freedom back? or the person who messed everything up? you decide?
ousefox Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 One of the most unsuccessful governments of all time? This last year has been a total ****ing mess
Bayfox Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Disappointing. Always had a lot of time for Cameron. He's sensible, reasonable and balanced. It'll be a while now before we have a leader with those qualities again, if we ever do. He did a good job in difficult circumstances. He was a safe, steady pair of hands. Now we head into the unknown, on a whim, without a leader. I agree, He was trying his best to reduce the burden created by past generations on future generations, I really thought we would get a marginally remain vote and he would have the balls to go back to the EU and get reforms and a better EU that worked not just for UK but worked better for members such as spain, greece, Italy etc. In my eyes the EU seems to benefit Germany and Belgium in the main. The future is now very uncertain, but I guess in typical Brit fashion we will just get on with it. He put this idea out there, he must have misread the mood of the country. I do wonder how much of this hinged on the scare mongering about Immigrant's and Turkey joining the EU with the fact they border places such as syria and iraq. I wonder if the world had been a little more peaceful and the problems we help create could still just be seen as not being on our doorstep in those terms, things would have been different. It does seem that the older generation, that believe we can stand on our own to feet, still have a out dated view on immigrants etc, have all come out and voted and voted to leave from what i can see.
Poznan34 Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 How crucial was the referendum offer to winning he last election? It seems a big risk on the country's future (whether you are in or out) for potentially only one more year as PM.
Koke Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 So he uses a promise of vote on the EU to help him get into office... and then walks off when people use it. Dave, if it was going to be the end of the world, perhaps you shouldn't have put it on the table mate. He had to do this referendum in order to get rid of the UKIP threat. Nigel Farage has been at war with Brussels since time immemorial. Like him or loathe him, Farage is one of the main reasons we got this referendum to begin with.
Babylon Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 He had to do this referendum in order to get rid of the UKIP threat. Well that backfired didn't it.
Koke Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Well that backfired didn't it. It backfired massively. Farage is all over the media taking credit for this, despite most people who voted Leave did not vote for him or UKIP.
foxes21 Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 this was obvious. The only reason Boris campaigned for out is because he wants camerons jobs.
RedSoxUK Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 I didn't actually expect DC to leave; he kind of had to take his stance given his position, and had he not been the PM and just an MP i'm sure he would have supported Leave. As much as I don't actually like Cameron at all... He doesn't deserve this, nor do the conservative voters who voted for him just last year. Corbyn too, reversing his opinion and position on Brexit, being on the fence for so long while the core demographic of Labour voters are voting Leave. He too, if either leader should be resigning, should go. Massive massive failure from the Labour camp here. So many conflicting views and anti-establishment at the heart of it.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Cameron for me has done well in holding back the evil elements of the Tories and I liked the bloke. However he took this decision to offer an EU referendum lightly and used it as a ploy to get voted in so I'm not sorry to see him leave
Christoph Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Cameron for me has done well in holding back the evil elements of the Tories and I liked the bloke. Has he though? IDS? Michael Gove? Therasa May? Ian Hunt? To me the only thing holding the conservatives back seems to be their slim majority and the house of lords.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 Corbyn has to go too imo. Say what you want about Cameron, but he threw himself into the campaign, put his neck on the line and spoke passionately about what he thought was best for the country. Corbyn however did fvck all, put up a facade that he backed remain probably becasue his PR team told him to, and did very little to sway his core voters. I wouldn't be at all surprised if in the privacy of the booth he voted to leave, and now he's just looking to weasel out of it as the Tories turn on each other. That, in my opinion, is worse than what Cameron did.
foxes21 Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 yeh labour basically just took a back seat, to let the tories tear themselves apart, so when its re-election time labour will be more favourable to voters. it's all a fuching mess.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 That just means your parents have lots of money, not that you're fit to lead a country. @@Babylon I heard someone on the radio say factors in support of BoJo becoming PM, one of which was, "he writes a column in a national newspaper." My immediate thought was, "yes, and so does Robbie Savage!"

"I bet Farage knows the price of a load of bread, Cameron has no idea". Like knowing the price of a loaf of bread is some kind of yardstick with which to run a country.
MrSpaM Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 I think some people need to be careful what they wish for in all honesty Just remember the absolute twonk that would have been PM if labour would have won the last general election

Babylon Posted 24 June 2016 Posted 24 June 2016 it's all a fuching mess. Was thinking this earlier, the last few elections and this have been a mess. Infighting and bickering with both parties, has basically ended with with us leaving the EU and the country be totally divided. It stems back to Labour picking the wrong Milliband for me, whatever you thought of the bloke, he was electable. It's a popularity contest and he could have given the tories a proper run for their money.

Dave, if it was going to be the end of the world, perhaps you shouldn't have put it on the table mate. He wants what Britain want and he promised to hold the referendum. Whatever you can say about him, he can hold his head high following the referendum and I usually can't stand the bloke.
