As a Labour supporter they're all cvnts and frankly I hope they tear eachother to bits. Obviously the ones that the electorate like, Boris and Davidson, are the ones I hope will lose.

Got to say now this thing is over I'm glad I can go back to disagreeing with the likes of @@MattP and @@Webbo and start calling them stupid again.

As someone who generally cant stand the conservatives, i was impressed with Ruth Davidson during the referndum debate and can see why the torys are doing better in Scotland. Stephen Crabb would also be an interesting choice. Couldn't see either of them top of many torys lists.

The rest can all FOAD for all I care, but im sure it will be one of them.

Which of them voted remain / leave?

I'd rather vote Mattp than any of that lot.

Thanks for the compliment but I couldn't ever join the Conservative party, it's everything that is wrong with politics in Britain.

Such a dreadful list.

Hopefully Theresa May to give Labour more of a chance.

Change it from within, just like we should with the EU.

No way should Michael Gove be primeminister. He was shocking as minister of education...the worst in fact. His name shouldnt even be close...

Nope, when something is that broken tear it down and build it again.

Ruth Davidson's a bit of a dark horse. A bit strident in her style but it struck me she might be a unifying factor and she has both the passion and articulate delivery to be effective.

Boris is perhaps the soundest bet  but being an Old Etonian won't necessarily help him for all that it shouldn't really be a factor in his suitability to lead the country.

On balance I'd go for Davidson. She talked about "listening" in one of her speeches and while it was hard to imagine given the amount of talking she was doing I do believe that if people had "listened" we might never have reached the situation that came about this morning.

It actually surprises me that she's a Conservative. And yet some of the things she says relate to the kind of Conservatism I'd like to see, a conservatism that genuinely cares for working people and wants them to benefit from policies as much as anyone else.

I know she's a Remainer. I'm a Remainer too in essence but I wanted to Remain in a much-reformed EU that listened to its people, that was run by elected representatives, that didn't persevere with stupid policies in the face of massive opposition and didn't treat Britain like so much shit on their shoe. In the end I was glad we voted "Leave" because it was clear that even if we stayed, no-one was listening.

Now I firmly believe the EU will gradually implode but perhaps something better will grow from its wreckage.

Davidson can help in many ways - including with the worthwhile effort of trying to keep the UK union intact.

But I'm speaking from the heart and by instinct. Events are moving so quickly now and I, no more than anyone else, can anticipate all the consequences.

Good leader? Has a Referendum for his own gain, and then resigns when it doesn't go his way leaving the mess for others to sort out, yep great leadership that.

Davidson isn't Tory enough for Tories and she isn't even an MP, will be Boris or someone else who comes out of nowhere like Cameron did in 2005.

@@MattP - If there was a GE tomorrow, who would you vote for?

Genuine question given the UKIP mandate is acheived and you seem to the hate the tories as much as me these days!

I honestly have no idea, I wrote to my local Tory MP to ask on his vote (after he told me in person he was out when I did) the EU ref and I got a lod of guff about how the amazing reforms the Prime Minister had achieved had swung him back, cowardice of the highest order and I wouldn't vote for him.

The other candidates had nothing going for them either.

Given my main political aim is achieved I might just draw a cock on the ballot paper or something, the child in me has always wanted to do that but the vote was always too important to me.

Wouldn't Davidson need to be parachuted into a safe seat before becoming leader? Or would she get away with her role as MSP?

Definite dark horse. I could see her capturing a good chunk of younger people and also helping the view of the Conservative party, if they gave her the time. Would also be a good person to spearhead the No campaign for the second referendum. She led the scot tories impressively at the last MSP election.

Shame she has next to no chance but she'd be a fantastic option
