Kitchandro Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Fair play to Belgium they've shown their class at times tonight, but Hungary haven't deserved that. They've given it a go a lot more than most teams in this tournament. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
the_tank Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Flattering score..Wales will defend better than that.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Flattering score..Wales will defend better than that. Going to be tough, the pace and how direct Belgium were today was incredible... It was Leicester like...
foxfanazer Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Flattering score..Wales will defend better than that.It wasn't flattering in the slightest. Counter attack after counter attack. Hazard and De Bruyne were superb
ScouseFox Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 this belgium team vs chris gunter and james chester :ranieriinhiscaplookingshockedface:
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 It wasn't flattering in the slightest. Counter attack after counter attack. Hazard and De Bruyne were superb Exactly they had something like 25-30 attempts... Kiraly kept them in it for a while
Chester Dontlie Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 I prefer that though than seeing teams limp out one nil with no shots on goal Me too mate, at least they went all or nothing and tried to bag something. They had no luck whatsoever today and Szalai was crap Just pains me to see such legend as Kiraly to concede 4 in one game ! Not his first time, though
Koke Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Glad Hungary are out. Could have been 5 or 6. Hazard and KDB are class.
the_tank Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 this belgium team vs chris gunter and james chester :ranieriinhiscaplookingshockedface: Belgium who finished behind Wales in the qualifying group
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Belgium who finished behind Wales in the qualifying group Belgium finished top...
lestajigs Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Fair play to Belgium played good exciting football,
Nalis Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Glad Hungary are out. Could have been 5 or 6. Hazard and KDB are class. Why? They showed more endeavour than all 6 teams yesterday. OK, they got hammered but they had their chances too, game could have finished 6-3 Belgium.
StanSP Posted 26 June 2016 Author Posted 26 June 2016 Belgium looked unstoppable tonight. Superb all over. Hazard the shining star and it's great to see him play like we know he can. This is the Belgium we expected to turn up right from the start. Fancy them to beat Wales and then Poland or Portugal. if it is the latter, I hope they do.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 my bad..but didn't beat them It is about peaking at the right times in tournament football, they did what they had to do like Germany...

They've given it a go a lot more than most teams in this tournament. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I fear that managers who like to play defensive cagey football will use Hungary's case as evidence to put 11 men behind the ball as we have seen on various occasions in this tournament.
Finnegan Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Eh, I'm no more or less worried than I was before. Flattering is the wrong word for the score but it's no more revealing than us putting three by Russia. Hungary are and were immensely poor defensively. We know Belgium very well, we'll sit eleven men behind the ball, defend with a back five and two holding midfielders and it'll be another very slow, low scoring game. Like I said, those same Belgian players didn't put a single goal by us in two games in qualifying. We played out a nil nil and a one nil and both games would have been shocking for a neutral. They'll be overwhelming favourites and I'll be very surprised if they don't beat us but anyone hoping to tune in and see a humiliating thrashing of Wales will probably be pretty disappointed tbh.

Ireland also beat Germany in qualifying and got a draw, to me those games mean nothing when you get to the knockouts... Belgium look the best I have seen them play, hazard is back and I can't see the games panning out like they did then. I would be surprised if Belgium struggle to score this time around. I'm not calling thrashing but I can't look past anything but a Belgium win.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Whilst the Belgians played well and will be favourites, we should remember that we have drawn twice away and beaten them once in last three games recently, so I don't think we will be overawed.

I think the winner from this game will get to the final, Poland and Portugal are very very beatable
filbertway Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Wales won't show any ambition so that game will be pretty boring. Refreshing to see an underdog just give it a go. So boring watching teams play for a 0 0. I know I'd prefer to give it a go as a smaller nation than stand on the edge of box all day and hope for the best. Good set of games today, more like it!
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 June 2016 Posted 26 June 2016 Tonight has resurrected my interest in the tournament. Hazard's performance must have been once of the best I've seen in a long long time. Totally unplayable.

So you'd rather get dicked on four nil and go out than grind out a spawny one nil off a jammy set piece and "do a Greece"? Don't be ridiculous. Look, it might be boring for the neutral but smaller nations are going to do what they do. And I'm truly fed up of hearing about how weak the format is. There's bigger and smaller teams in every tournament.

There's bigger and smaller teams in every tournament. I think in hindsight that'd seem good, I think if it's your team then you're delighted with a win in whichever way you can get it. The reality is that the team will defend for 60, 70, 80 even 90 minutes. Barely register an attack. Then eventually cave in to the pressure and lose anyway. In terms of looking back on the highlights of a players career though, I bet most footballers would wish that they gave it a go in some games rather than sit back and let the inevitable happen. Especially when you see fragilities in some teams defences, but basically just give them a free pass from defending. If I was you I wouldn't give a damn what people are saying though, you're in the quarter finals, it's amazing. I expect you will run them pretty close in the quarters as well.
