andyroo99 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Hi folks I'm looking for recommendations from Foxes fans of their favourite fish and chip shops to visit to or from home games - or fave chippies that fans might traditionally visit when on the road for certain away games? Or are there any Leicester chippies with unique strong links to Leicester City FC? Many thanks. Andy
onekeithweller Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 The best I've had http://www.obanfishandchipshop.co.ukit's a bit of a trek from Celtic Park.
Fox92 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Had great chips at Sunderland away this season. A great little shop just outside the ground.
Finnegan Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Rothley /thread. (Bit of a commute for chips on a home game, but no pain no gain.)
DB11 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Sunderland away was the best I think I've ever had!! Little shop on the coast near where the bus dropped you off
simmo1977 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 The best I've had http://www.obanfishandchipshop.co.ukit's a bit of a trek from Celtic Park. I've been there, also a really nice curry house near the Harbour at Oban.
Strokes Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Barnsley and Leeds were big favourites a few years back.
filbertfoxy00 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 There are nine to compare to Grimsby Fisheries on Welford Rd None*
Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Rothley /thread. (Bit of a commute for chips on a home game, but no pain no gain.) What's happening to you @@Finnegan ? Dining at the Old Bulls Head, chips from Rothley... next you'll be drinking Pimms with the Duke of Rutland at Belvoir Castle.
Fox92 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Barnsley and Leeds were big favourites a few years back. Yeah I usually go the shop on the corner near Oakwell... Unsure about Leeds as I usually go McDonalds there.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 He a from rothley int he so he prob already does that while debating whether or not to call his first born Cecil Finnegan or Sebastian Finnegan Ahhh, so he's one of these reverse snobs who plays down mummy and daddies fortune and gets a job at the council. Calls himself Welsh? Bet he's never been down a mine in his life!
Wymsey Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Rothley /thread. (Bit of a commute for chips on a home game, but no pain no gain.) Most of Leicester would've never heard of the one there. But many Leicesterions will have heard of GRIMSBY FISHERIES and agree that there's not a better one around.
Strokes Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Yeah I usually go the shop on the corner near Oakwell... Unsure about Leeds as I usually go McDonalds there. The one at Elland Road is opposite the main stand, very nice Fish.
Buce Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 The best chips I've ever had were from a chippy just South of Huddesfield. The owner told me the secret was that he fried them in beef fat.

Not much of a secret if he's gobbing off to you. Rothley Syston (today's catch) Bucks chippy In that order in Leics.
boots60 Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Fish n chips in beef dripping is a must do culinary experience. Most decent chippies in Yorkshire especially on the coast, Scarborough, Whitby. Not available in Leicesteretirement as far as I know. Must sort this phone out
Voll Blau Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 Also had a great experience with fish and chips in Sunderland.

Realist Guy In The Room Posted 15 July 2016 Posted 15 July 2016 If we draw Plymouth in the cup, take a 2 hour detour on the way home and check out Holmbush Chip shop in St Austell. It is as nice as Edwards Fish and Chips used to be on Narborough Road circa 1988.
