Kante Replacements?

Recommended Posts

We have not seen the best of James yet ..... DD and James ... You will be watching the England midfield of the future.

A fully firing Matty James would be awesome.  I really hope he can get fully fit, he'd more than replace Kante

He's not...how can he be if his stats are comparable? It's the players around him that are wank!

Quite frankly ignore the stats regarding this player, he's shite! Stats told us last year that Wes Morgan was one of the fastest players in the league because he ranked one of the top speeds, doesn't mean we'll put him up top and start threading in through balls for him to chase.

If we replace Kante with Gueye then the whole affair will have been a complete fiasco

Ante Coric of Zagreb. In no way a direct replacement but might compliment Drinkwater & Mendy. I've seen several Italian reports linking him with Leicester. Inter are very interested but Claudio is very keen apparently.

This is not fm16.

Stats are an integral part of why a player is purchased my friend.  We were looking at Gueye last season before we purchased Kante...whos to say that he wouldn't flourish in a far better team.

moneyball

We need somebody that can turn and drive us forward, somebody like Kovacic. Deceptively quick, amazing off the ball movement. I think we probably are going to abandon the 4-4-2 anyways.

Yeah hence why I said this player. A centre back will have the top passing stats in the league because they just play easy balls side to side- again showing stats can be useless. I prefer to watch a player and judge him rather than JUST look at stats on paper (Walsh does the same :) )

All I'm saying is Gueye is shit really

You've not really put over a strong argument there in all fairness. You say that Walsh watches the players as well as analysing the stats but had Gueye not turned us down for a move to Villa last season he'd very much be a Leicester player as Walsh and Co. had evidently scouted the player enough to convince the board to submit a bid before going anywhere near Kante. Surely if he was good enough for us to submit a bid he clearly isn't a poor player.

You guys are talking as if the Gueye to Leicester last season was concrete though. Are we even sure we submitted a bid?

And oh god here we go it's the Steve Walsh bumming brigade. Yes he is a fantastic scout yes he has a fantastic eye for a player but that doesn't mean he has done/will get everything single player right.

What you have to remember is that Kante is effective with a team that has little possession.  His strengths will be completely nullified with a team who retains possession of the ball.  If you compare Kante's stats to Gueye at Villa..There is little between them, he is easily replaced.

That's not true though is it.

With France his team had the majority of the ball and he had the most passes in the team. He was excellent moving the ball forwards as well as defending.

But was dropped for a more creative player in the semi final and final?

CM positions..

Drinky

James

Kingy

Inler

Amarty

Mendy

Do we really need more? Who's to say Amarty or Mendy can't fill his boots?

I think another top quality player to come in instead of either James or Inler is still required.

That aswell as a versatile forward, and a quality defender displacing Moore/ Benelouane. So three players left to get imo.

Again not true.

He picked up 2 yellows and was therefore suspended for the match against Iceland. This resulted in a changed formation to suit their main man Griezmann which worked so well against Germany that they stuck to it against Portugal whom they expected to dominate too.

CR has expected him to go imo

How about Eric dier from the spuds, he's no kante but he's decent and English and seems a good lad

How much do you think it would cost for:

a) Tottenham to sell?

b) Salary offer to convince him to come?

Answer those two question well and there's your answer why he won't be coming here.
