The domino effect

Kantes gone and reports are saying mahrez is keeping his options open for a new challenge, schlupps had a bid from west brom and drinkwaters waiting on a new contract, has Kante just opened up a can of worms or will the owners nip this transfer window in the bud?

Your posting name will probably cause more problems and maybe you need to consider using a few different vowels. As for Dominos, the unbelievable  success of last season was built on the traditional  Italian version of the dish rather than the topping laden American version that I must admit am to partial to.

It does concern me a bit hearing drinkwater saying he is still waiting on an offer. The owners should be busting a gut to ensure all of our key players are offered what they deserve and nipping any thoughts of leaving in the bud.

If they are serious about establishing us as a top 6 club we MUST pay the wages to players or it just won't happen.

Blimey - The Grim Reaper joins FT.   I am off out now to buy some razor blades.

It takes a bit of the gloss off of lsst season for me if loads of our players. I thought they had a close bond and wanted to achieve more together at this club but once again its all about the money to the modern day footballer. Sad but true

We had the best team in the premier last year by 10 points last year and the best players. Working as a unit .

I am not sure they will perform the same way in another team ( some of them )'

If you listen to Kasparov interview on RL you may understand not all what you read in the press is true .

I don't want to loose our best players , but this is football .

I have no idea how we will do this coming season / how our new signings will fit in / perform . I can't wait

Another perhaps worrying aspect is that if players like Kante and Marhez leave, effectively damaging the 'fairytale' aspect of our story, will this effect the potential willingness of replacement players to come here? All of a sudden in some people's eyes, we go from a team competing for the Premiership title again with good potential in the Champions League to mid table relegation fighting fodder again. We have recruited well thus far this summer but Kante and Marhez were undoubtedly two huge reasons we are where we are.

The owners asked us to trust them a year ago and this far, they have done a pretty good job with their decisions.

My only concern at this point is their policy re renegotiating contracts. It would appear (and we don't have all the facts) that we are following the 'wait till you have to' route.

There are different ways of running a business. I do a lot of trading in the Far East and it's routine for people to move jobs for more money and opportunity. Much more so than in Europe. Despite that, bosses tend not to offer better packages until it's too late and the staff indicate they are leaving.

In my business, we identify good staff we feel are possibly underpaid and approach them with a rise before they feel the need to look elsewhere. the grass invariably looks greener and trying to stop them leaving is always a much more expensive exercise than keeping them happy in the first place.

in the Far East, there is a plentiful supply of staff, ready to take the jobs. However, i'm struck by how many of my trading partners moan that they can never get 'good staff'. I always counter by saying that they have had 'good staff' but they have always moved on. They shrug their shoulders and moan some more.

Maybe we believe that there is plentiful supply of good players, a available at a decent price and wage, to take the place of anyone who wants to leave. That could well be true but it will be extremely stressful for the supporters to find out if this policy works.

DD is quoted this week as saying he hasn't had any contact re an improved contract. Just a call to his representatives to say we would be coming to him before the end of the window with improved terms would be something. But nothing? in his position, I would be asking myself if I was really valued here. If I shouldn't be looking elsewhere. And if a 'Liverpool' make contact with his agent then what happens ? Tie him down now to a new deal at 70k and its all done. wait for him to get an offer elsewhere at 80k and it will cost you 85k to keep him. And you avoid any potential unrest. and perhaps he will be happy to take 5k less money to move on? It might look a more attractive long term proposition to him?

I trust the owners and the board but to say I'm not concerned would be a lie.

The club is a business and are not going to throw huge contracts around until they absolutely have to.

Come on guys please stop with the over dramatic doom ladened posts. This is football players come and go.

Why is it always the negative that is so heavily focused on? Why not consider that a little adversity will serve to galvanise our fierce warriors? How about the replacements and additions work out better in a different system that makes our added pace even more potent?

The Don is a great leader and he will handle this, so I implore, please stop with the hissy fits and man up for one hell of a ride next season!

Chaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrge.

We've been shrewd with our dealings, getting players with great value and I trust the owners and those responsible to continue doing the right things. The media will always say things and act like everyone wants to leave our club because the so called elite are interested so that instantly means gone. Until the window closes we will have to put up with this...

Kante going is a loss! Mahrez going isn't tbh! If he wants to go! Let him go.

Say what now?

Posted

Kante was always gonna go. At least we had him for a season and he helped us win the league...

Schlupp won't want to go and we won't sell for £9m

We don't have to sell Mahrez

We're just going to have to ride this shite until Sept and ensure we play hard ball with all the clubs trying to pick us apart.

What pi*ses me off is I was looking forward to watching our 'special' team in the champions league next year, now if Kante / Mahrez etc go I'll be dreading it!!
