SecretPro Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 Can't quite believe how little this has been said, but we are in dire need of a quality new striker. I don't feel we can place all our eggs in the Vardy basket and Musa appears to be more suited to playing in a 3 on the flanks. That still only leaves us Shinji and Leo (if Leo stays) and Shinji isn't exactly prolific and Leo is more suited to super sub. We need another out and out striker who can play as a solid number 9. Who do we bring in?
Fox 4 Life Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 We did alright with vardy and okazaki last season and have added Musa. Don't see it as a dire need?? Would be nice to add more competition but not the biggest need surely
Foxy harry Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 Not the biggest of names but Diafra Sakho wants out of West Ham I would take him but I do believe there is better we could get.
filbertstreet Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 playing a 4-3-3 like that ITK said we've got enough
psychonaut Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 We did alright with vardy and okazaki last season and have added Musa. Don't see it as a dire need?? Would be nice to add more competition but not the biggest need surely Well the fact that we bid 25 odd million for Deeney who is a completely different kind of player to Musa would suggest there is still a need for a striker or at least the club think so. I thought Musa was more of a wide player that could fill the Vardy role if needs be. So just because we've signed Musa I dont think its a closed book on our front line.
SheppyFox Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 We need to sign a tonne more than just a striker imo.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 Exactly my thoughts, SecretPro. I do still think we need another out & out striker. I've mentioned this previously... "Not only potential midfield reinforcements, striker reinforcements is what we need now IMO. We have Ulloa, Okazaki, Vardy & Musa. Although I wouldn't say no to any midfield signings to replace Kante, we are better stocked there then at the forward line. Ulloa's future at the club is uncertain too. I said before the window, we need to sign two strikers. Well, we have one in Musa which is good, but still think we need another. I'd like ideally heading into the new season - Ulloa, Okazaki, Vardy, Musa & a fifth out an out striker." "I see the strike position as a key, important area where we need investment in still, personally."
ajthefox Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 Still a month until the season starts and another two weeks after that until the window ends. We're not finished yet.
Gerard Posted 16 July 2016 Posted 16 July 2016 Kante leaves and the whole club has become a jumble sale overnight. We can't afford to lose another key employee of the club this window whether that be players or non players.
waylander Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Top striker would encourage everyone who's that bloke at Newcastle
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Top striker would encourage everyone who's that bloke at Newcastle Shola Ameobi?
1972 Fox Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Still a month until the season starts and another two weeks after that until the window ends. We're not finished yet. Yes which probably also means that other clubs are not finished buying our players yet!
dylanlegend Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Remember the January striker meltdown? What happened next?
jutheblue Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 I agree that we do need a new striker but we have to have faith in the backroom staff to do the right thing. We are still suffering from people thinking that last season was a one off which is why Kante has gone an Mahrez is still pondering. We need another good season and have signed 4 quality players already. We all know as City fans it will be feast or famine. Well I'm ready for a eat all you can buffet this season and rubbing more dirt in the faces of the so called experts who think there are only 4 teams in the Premier League
sdb Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Not sure we need a new striker at all. A young centre half yes. A right back maybe. If a Kante clone can be unearthed, great. But I think we're well covered otherwise.
SecretPro Posted 17 July 2016 Author Posted 17 July 2016 Remember the January striker meltdown? What happened next? We potentially have many many more games to play this year. 5 forwards is the minimum requirement I'd say. What if Vards isn't as good as last season? Teams will definitely have figured out his game this time around, we need to be able to offer something different if needs be.
psychonaut Posted 4 August 2016 Posted 4 August 2016 If Okazaki continues to put superhuman performances in like he did last night along with Musa revealing he has Vardy V2.0 scratched into the back of his head - no striker required!
pazzerfox Posted 4 August 2016 Posted 4 August 2016 We definitely need a new striker...You can't win the Premier League with just Vardy, Okazaki and Ulloa up top!......Oh wait.

foxes161 Posted 4 August 2016 Posted 4 August 2016 We need more players wether the striker need is the main one or not. Still not enough players for the amount of games we are set to play.
