STUHILL Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 It's a shame we have this flat ending as we would all have been buzzing if we had signed a CM and although some may have liked a RB or CB, we would all have been satisfied that we had strengthened the most important areas we needed to. Now we all feel frustrated. I hope Amartey puts in another good performance and Mendy gets over his injury fast and shows why Walsh wanted him.

But people were saying James looked back to march sharpness in the matches he played for U23's. The injury yesterday is unconfirmed, it's a rumour. I would trust him and King to come in and do a job, against the clubs in the bottom half of the league when we need to rotate. The same can be applied to James if there is no injury & he's back to being fully match fit. Plus, James has the potential to reach Drinkwater's level. Again, this is blue-tinted specs talk. You guys are probably right, but i'm trying to look at the positives. Because right now, King & James are our 4th/5th options.

Otherwise we need that squad depth if we want to stand a chance in the Champions League. Don't forget we just ditched some "dead weights" who were wheighing a lot on our wage sheet...

Maybe King can step up and I'm hoping Matty James will play his part sooner than later as he's a top talent

wattolcfc Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 James is as injury prone as Wilshere, players like him never hit their potential because they don't get enough game time. I didn't rate James in the great escape season and I can't see him ever improving due to his injuries. I'd ship him out on loan like Wilshere has done.
