Drinkwater, Amartey, Mendy, King, James. Those are our CM's. Drinkwater, Amartey & Mendy will fight for a starting place. King & James (when fit) are both reliable back up options. People need to stop writing off James because he could turn out to be like a new signing for us and reach the same heights as Drinkwater. It's possible, we just need to get behind the lad.

When Mendy signed we were told he was brought in to play alongside Kante, not to replace him. Where is the Kante replacement? Crap IMO.

It upsets the balance and did Mendy come here to sit on the bench? It wasn't long ago he was our record signing (for about a week). I also don't think AS is the best partner for Danny D. He also is a tidy passer, shuttler and recycler of the game. Dan A and Mendy can do the grunt work and Dan A proved on Saturday now good Danny D is when he isn't the only defensive midfielder. In summary, signings are sexy but not sure we REALLY need another first line CM yet. If Danny D gets injured though, then I'll be really worried.

Plus Amartey has had one good game against what may be a poor Swansea. It seems we expect Drinky to be on top form for 55 games this season, as we have nobody else who is proven to be creative at this level.
