He could play 38 league games and 8 champions league games and still be three short of that. And that's without signing someone in Jan if we needed to. We had more shots against Everton without him then in any other game, he's brilliant but we can create without him.

Larry_LCFC Posted 31 August 2016 Posted 31 August 2016 I think too much emphasis is being put on us having more games this season. We managed it in the Championship, which I would argue is a more physical league. Saturday, Tuesday was a regular thing for us a few years ago and we were fine.

We as fans thought we wanted him, apparently we didn't want him, used him to our own devices, the fact he handled it in a way that brought embarrassment to himself and his club as a captain is nothing to do with us.

Would I have preferred another, yes. Do I know for sure we'll need one, no. It's just people panicking because they don't know Mendy, Amartey and Kapustka. Who we were told could play multiple positions. Amartey got a chance and was brilliant, given a bit of time to settle the others could also.
