Need to flood the midfield, protect the defence, give some players a chance to restore their confidnece.  Rest Vardy, give Gray and Kaputska license to roam inside to support Slimani.  Happy with a draw, not least that I have a bet on it.

I didn't mean to offend you. I haven't seen any of the LCFC games so far, but I'm pretty sure most of you haven't seen any of Brugge either. I'm just looking at the results, like most of you do when "analyzing" Brugge. The results are similar: pretty good at home and very bad away from home. 

I don't care how strong Hull or Arsenal or...are compared to Kortrijk or Beveren. The fact is that both teams, in their respective leagues, are struggling.

This could lead to a very interesting game on Wednesday, I believe.

 

I don't know why you wouldn't wanna be a Brugge fan on Wednesday actually. We are happy to be in the CL, nobody expects us to win it, not even go to the next round. Let alone beat the English champions. There's no pressure for us; in fact this is probably the first game this season in which we have absolutely nothing to lose.

Don't underestimate the pressure we face every week. Every other team in the league wants to beat us & is highly motivated. Brugge is one of the three major clubs in this country. Wherever we go, we are always clear favourites & have to play against 11 defenders. On Wednesday, we can be the underdogs. Could suit us fine.

Good point about everyone being 'up' to play us - as Champions, that kind of pressure hasn't really been dealt with by LCFC before (aside from the run-in last season, but even then - we were still *underdogs*)

think we need a 3rd CM and as a result 433 is far more likely than 352, which would be my prefered formation, personally I would give Mahrez a kick up the arse by not starting him to but I can see this team, assuming Simpson is out injured

The players will have a different mindset for this match. They'll be buzzing like we were last year. 0 -3 Leicester

 

Our start to the season was somewhat to be expected as players not just in football quite often have an early let down the following season after a huge unexpected season the year before. The players themselves, the manager and the people behind the scenes will have the team going full tilt again pretty quick.....the alarm bells have clearly been heard.

I like it think it could work that but would be amazed if we went with it i really think abit of tinkering is needed just to fresh things up a bit i no people will point out why now for  are first champions league game but i really think its a gamble that will work

Don't know if it's been mentioned in here but just heard on radio Leicester that they only have 6 points out of 6 games. That's surely very very poor for them in that league, would be very disappointed if we didn't win this

Radio Leicester is wrong. It's 7 points, not 6.

Obviously most of you don't know anything about Brugge nor the Belgian league. That's exactly what we hope for 'cause it's probably our only chance of winning this game: being underestimated by Leicester.

Zieler is back up and no more.....not in the same class as Kasper..


No, he is there to push KS. Time will tell if in the same class. If he can deal with a cross, he'll already be doing well.

We ask know KS is a top class shot stopper. His reactions are second to no one. But his distribution is annoying, and he doesn't dominate his box.

Time to see what Zieler can do.

What do you think the score will be



If only we were as good as last year...I'd given us a good chance to get something out of this. Now I honestly don't know. If we score first it will be a very exciting game. Let's say 2-2.

Yep,

 

as you can see we've had a long dry spell mid nineties till mid nillies (hate that word).

I know we always hope(d) for a decent English opponenent, during that period and even now.

I guess we have a certain connection with English football.

Our atmosphere and support is described as Brittish, probably since our European encounters against Liverpool in the late seventies. So don't be surprised to hear a, less impressive, ynwa before kick off. It's something we've adopted from those days.

 

Anyway, whenever we draw an Brittish opponent you can count on a couple thousand Brugge fans wanting to get on the Eurostar. Like last year at Manchester. That was, besides the result ****ing brilliant!

the stat still stands as the qualifying doesn't count just like the qualifying for the euros and world cup don't count towards the competition

If Claudio knows well Slimani then he sure knows he performs better when he plays as a sole striker.

But surely want him to play combine and be successful together with Vardy.

Not having the unchanged (excpect for Simpson lineups) when we have a must win or the wheels come off bout at the weekend against Burnley and then the league cup on Tuesday. We need to save something for the weekend.
