lcfcrinaldi Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 I'd like to see us make wholesale changes for the game and rotate quite heavily. However, we are quite a sentimental team with quite a sentimental manager, so feel he will stick with the side that got us there in the first place. And so I feel as though that the only change will be Hernandez for Simpson and maybe a change across the midfield 4. Every title winner will be so up for the first ever Champions League game, I can imagine there would be a few more disgruntled voices if Claudio made too many changes. I don't even think Slimani will start, probably come off the bench.
FoxinNotts Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 We shouldn't worry too much about this, believe it or not. Just keep making small enforced changes, and replace those in the starting line up that didn't perform in the previous game. what I'm saying is no need for wholesale changes. Burnley home is the must win btw. We should go with: Schmeichel Hernandez Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Drinky Amartey Albrighton King Vardy Hope to see Super Slim come off the bench, n bag. Then bring in him and Mendy for King and Amartey for Burnley. Draw and a win, and we're back on track.
desertfox2 Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Kasper Hernandez Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez DD Amartey Musa Slimani Vardy Amartey sat in front of back 4 Musa and Mahrez have to put in a mega shift up and down the pitch with/without ball. Musa and Slim have to play we need the champions league experience.

Mahrez and Musa on the wing, in a 4-4-2 is asking for trouble. Both too attack minded.
Legend_in_blue Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 If we can't beat these there really is no hope for us in this competition. How many teams are worse than these?

But just know that Mahrez any game now will fire up.
Number 6 Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Kasper Hernandez Morgan Huth Fuchs Albrighton Amartey Drinkwater Mahrez Slimani Vardy Wouldn't be adverse to trying a different formation but don't think this is the time to do it.
Callabinho Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Kasper Hernandez Huth Morgan Fuchs Drinkwater Mendy (if fit) Albrighton Mahrez (Kapustka if he's feeling brave). Vardy Slimani

Still hopeful we can perform and get a result. They looked as lackluster as we did...ought to be an ugly affair. See it being 2-2

lgfualol Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Have a feeling Brugge will just give us the ball, lump it forward to a quick striker or pass through the middle. We're going to get Leicester'd
Clever Fox Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Forget sentiment, when are people going to realise last years results have no bearing on what's happening now. We need to play with the ball and not be afraid of it. Barcelona should have thought the players that. But you can only play whats in front of you and we should have enough to bring home a result and away goal, which are vital in Europe. As regards our lineup. players should have to earn their place and not be selected on last year. Otherwise fringe players get disheartened as they see up close whats happening in training. CR has a few big calls to make. Fuchs looks as if he needs a rest, Morgan also. Maybe that's also Mahrez's problem.
Brooksy Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 Zieler Hernandez Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Mendy Albrighton Okazaki Slimani 3-1 defeat and foxestalk to blow up
NewEnglandFox Posted 11 September 2016 Author Posted 11 September 2016 I think Fuchs is locked on for this one setting up Chiwell the nod for Saturday. Going into Liverpool, I thought Fuchs would play this game and one of the other around it. He's one of the few that's been in the Champions League before and captained his country. He can be the rock that Chilwell just isn't mature enough or has the experience to have in this game.
Izzy Posted 11 September 2016 Posted 11 September 2016 My guess is CR will reward and pick the guys who got us there - as he did in the Charity Shield. Doubt he'll make any major formation/personnel changes unless forced to do so by injuries. I'd take a 0-0 draw away right now and be delighted thanks very much.

Not bothered who's playing in the attacking third. I'd like to see Kapuska and Gray again. I'd argue Albrighton has to start for his defensive duties though. If Musa starts please play him in his position and not wide. Excited for the game though. First time I'm seeing us abroad. Welcome to our beautiful city. Have a nice time and it will be 29 degrees! But the beers are cold.....but after all we will be the best My nickname is the same as a famous bruges beer. Taste it!

narboroughblue Posted 12 September 2016 Posted 12 September 2016 I can't see many changes from Saturday other than Simpson due to injury. I know so little about Bruges it's hard to know how to set the side up but they haven't started the season well in a poorer league than the EPL so I imagine the first goal could be crucial to dent either sides confidence. Personally would give Albrighton a rest and let Gray try and prove himself following his tweet. Slimani on the bench as that should give everyone a lift. Its going to be one hell of an experience and I can't wait to get there.

The only player I've heard of is Jelle Vossen and he failed at Burnley. Will be a tough game though, never an easy game away in Europe, no matter who the opposition.

My comment wasnt made to shit on Brugge, more highlighting our weaknesses that you could exploit if you kick and rush.
Nalis Posted 12 September 2016 Posted 12 September 2016 According to the bookies this is the toughest match to call in Matchday 1, we're marginal favourites at 6/4.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 12 September 2016 Posted 12 September 2016 Need to bench Mahrez imo. Gray needs a run out. Get Slim shady on early.
