He didn't like Cambiasso... I know it won't suit the views of some fans but the majority of the players were massively supportive of Pearson; he was extremely popular with them I think I mentioned on FT a while back that I'd heard Cambiasso wasn't universally liked in the dressing room; nice of Vardy to confirm it

Cambiasso was excellent for us, I don't care if he was an arsehole because he repeatedly churned out game winning performances and we wouldn't be in this position without him. Everything has worked out perfectly for Leicester fans yet you're still trying to score points.

It sounds like he wasn't universally liked but evidently they were able to put their differences to one side and the end result was that we escaped relegation.

It does make you wonder if our form picked up when he stopped acting like billy big b***ocks infront of our squad though. It did take us a while to get going after he arrived

I think Cambiasso took a long time to fully get it together himself- more so fitness wise... He didnt have a pre season dont forget plus he was making the switch from a stroll in the park league to a very fast paced league...
sdb Posted 12 October 2016 Posted 12 October 2016 No Cambiasso, no title. We wouldn't even be in the prem now. Of course that applies to a few players. Nice guy or not, he was outstanding in the final third of that season and a good few games before too.
VLC86 Posted 12 October 2016 Posted 12 October 2016 Col, Did Cambiasso ever fart in a lift you were in or something?

I did wonder how it was recieved by his teammates. Rugby player Gavin Henson was critical of players/coaches past and present in his autobiography while he was still playing. That caused a huge amount of ill feeling at the time.

Just because some did not love Cambiasso don't mean others didn't. Some may also look at it as lads on tour and should not be talked about even if they were not keen. I still think he should be playing football not sorting out books a films. Fergie soon got shot of Becks when he was spending more time on other business. No I am not anti Vardy but the club has made him not the other way round.

In fact, I'd go as far as to say him NOT being here last season resulted in us winning the title. He did his job, got well paid, and then fvcked off as far as I'm concerned. In hindsight I'm glad he left and made way for DD and Kante to run the show in his absence. Great player and great career blah, blah, blah and definitely contributed to us staying up, but history will show he really only had a dozen or so decent games for us. That's all....
Corky Posted 12 October 2016 Posted 12 October 2016 The bloke got a standing ovation for winning a corner, what a hero.

That's all.... you've got to be in the league to win the league and he was pretty much the only reason we stayed in the league. obviously nothing that happened last season has anything to do with cambiasso because he had left, but it was mainly down to his performances that he left us in the premier league and not the championship.

But Cambiasso wasn't 'pretty much the only reason we stayed in the league' IMO. I think it's disrespectful to the rest of the team to suggest he was the reason we stayed up. What about Huth? What about Vardys goals? What about Albrighton and Kings contribution and the change in formation? I don't get why Cambiasso gets all the credit and others don't....

We only ever have one or two players. The other 9/10 are like penalties.

I don't get why Cambiasso gets all the credit and others don't.... cambiasso gets more credit because he did more to drag us from the bottom than the rest of them, and because there are some who give him absolutely no credit so it gets brought up more. obviously they all did great but you can tell he was the leader on the pitch. as for "vardys goals", he scored the same amount of goals in the run in as cambiasso. in fact he scored the same amount of goals in the whole season as cambiasso, in more games. so if we're giving him great credit for that then it's no wonder we're still waxing lyrical about esteban.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 12 October 2016 Posted 12 October 2016 We all know Vardy is a nasty ratty little chav with no class and at the same time a great footballer for LCFC. He's not a hero or a role model, or someone most of us would want to spend time with, but he has helped bring a lot of success our way and gives his all. Wether it's for himself or us, who cares? Since most of us are likely to only come across Vardy in a football context let's judge him on that, not on being a piece of sh1t.
