Claudio Ranieri and Wes Morgan from Leicester City Football Club have teamed up with Eddie Cocker, Area Station Manager for East Midlands Trains, today (14 October) to launch a train named in honour of the Premier League Champions.

‘The Fearless Foxes’ now proudly sits on the side of one of East Midlands Trains High Speed Trains which is used for services across the East Midlands to London.

Andrew Conroy, Customer Experience Director for East Midlands Trains, said: “Leicester City’s success last year was a truly special achievement.

“Nobody, perhaps except from the most ardent of Foxes fans and the squad involved, believed it was possible for Leicester City to win the title so soon after being promoted to the top tier.

“Our connection to the local communities we serve is very important and so we were very keen to recognise this by naming one of our trains ‘The Fearless Foxes’ after the amazing Premier League winning team, Leicester City.”

The idea by the East Midlands Trains team to name a train after the Foxes came towards the end of last season when it seemed like the impossible might come true – but the name has been kept under wraps until now.

Alan Birchenall,  Leicester City Football Club Ambassador, said: “said: "It's a wonderful gesture from East Midlands Trains to acknowledge what the Football Club has achieved in a way that the Leicester community can truly be part of.

“It's a train in everyday use, so I'm sure the train-spotters among our supporters will keep an eye out for ‘The Fearless Foxes’ train!”

After the unveiling of ‘The Fearless Foxes’ plaque at Leicester station, the train departed for London where manager Claudio Ranieri and captain Wes Morgan and their players were travelling for an away trip to Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.

It is hoped that ‘The Fearless Foxes’ train will bring good fortune to the team as they travel across the country on East Midlands Trains services and seek to defend their title as reigning Premier League champions.

Park it overnight at Derby station ....    and when it calls at Nottingham let it chill for a good hour or so before moving off ....   no rush.

Rather than going to have your photo taken at a train, how about going to train? Their train of thought is all wrong. This season is a railroad to disaster.

It's completely first class, unstoppable, carries no passengers and the buffet trolley serves only the finest champagne. Ticket inspector is Wasilewski, so you'd better have one, in fact be safe if I were you and have several, his policy is to just chuck you off between stations. Birch on announcements and look out for the Okazaki carriage which is replaced by the Ulloa carriage around 65-70% of the way into the journey.

i just hope Leicester can get on the right track and our season is not derailed and we come out the other side of the tunnel in good form and we need players with the right attitude and cannot afford to carry any passengers, so let's toot our horn and show the other teams how speedy we can be to get to our destination on time
