It's not just that though is it? Our defence looks suspect and there's genuine concerns over Vardy and Slimani. If we got a proper system that complimented our best strengths then I'd be far more optimistic. There's still time for this to happen but he's got to act fast and he's shown zero signs of ever considering another way of playing. Disturbing.

I havent said that Ranieri is blameless, the more I read of your post the more foolish you appear. In fact you are a plum. I will question players commitment, desire, and motivation - by their performances on and off the field You can laugh on your self-imaginary high horse all you like, bottom line - to sack the manager after 14 games I will state again , they dont understand football. Have an opinion yes, but understand football , NO If people do not think beating Porto and winning our CL group was not good and took immense resource to this, then again they do not understand football. Those fringe players were given an opportunity tonight, it left a lot to be desired, he has had to work within his resources Maybe the manager and his staff know something that we dont , as if....... I interpreted your post exactly how you intended it to be interpreted. You quoted and pointed out exact points which fans who have said Ranieri's time is up have stated. Therefore, showing their understanding of the game matches theirs. Hence, an understanding of the game which, at the very least, matches yours (whether that is to any benefit is questionable as you seem to have no better understanding to anyone else). You say sacking a manager after 14 games shows a misunderstanding for the game. Why? In modern football, managers have been sacked for a lot less and far shorter time. So maybe you should view the game in this era not the 1960's. The team are not responding and the effect of relegation is not a blip anymore, it is a castrophic disaster on a business which could pack it up in weeks. The only one on a imaginary high horse is you. Rather than engaging in a debate you are self stating that YOU have this in depth understanding of football and everyone else's opinion should be ridiculed (I.e. Your comment on people not understanding football). If you want Ranieri to stay, I certainly won't be ridiculing your opinion - back it up. But you get off your high horse and see what the **** is going on here. I may may be a plum mate but I'll be able to back up my opinions with proper arguments rather than insults.

How did Ranieri get 24 goals out of Vardy and 17 out of Mahrez? Did he bewitch them, or what? Oh, sorry, I forgot, Ranieri, had, of course, nothing to do with their hugely improved performances. He is only responsible for everything, that goes pear-shaped. Improvement comes with experience. The more games you play at a certain level, the better you get. Considering it was not on the players, but also Pearsons first season in the PL, he did very well. How do you explain whats going on this season then? And please don't give me all that big contract rubbish.

weller54 Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Question... If Chelsea hadn't of sacked Mourinho at this time last year (when they were in a similar position to us now).. Would they have been in a relegation battle?.. I think they took the necessary action in time to get a Manager in to save them from that fate.. It worked! ..we need to act NOW, before its too late.

A hoofball team with no long term direction? A Sunderland type club who sleepwalk their way through every season? Whose crowds drop away as they get less and less inspired after every passing week? Surely after the last campaign you can see why it's worth showing a bit of ambition, why it's worth trying to play positive and progressive football? Managers like fat Sam and Pulis who always said clubs like us should accept their place in the footballing world were shown up as fools last season. We showed them you didn't have to just play a limited brand of football and accept staying up as a success. Even if Claudio did go it's incomprehensible that you would want Allardyce. It shows a total lack of footballing awareness and intelligence. Call it knee-jerk if you like but to me everyone is too comfortable from what I see on the pitch. I don't see them in training but I can only detect something is wrong. What I am advocating is act now and not in 2 or 3 months when it may be too late. I accept the brand of football argument but I would be happy with a safe survival position and a kick up the backside where appropriate. I believe the team may say their hearing what Claudio is saying but they are not listening.

Nope you read how you want to read it. People calling for his head at this point is a complete misunderstanding, understand he does not sign the players, he does not negotiate their contracts, that is for those who dont understand how it works at Leicester, posibly including you. So he has to work within his resources. If the club didnt recruit adequately it is not entirely his fault. I have said I wish he would give 1 or 2 others a start in the last 4-5 matches, and I do believe he should try a different shape to try to stop conceding as many as we have. 2 years ago we were on 10 points with a few more games gone, we did not dispose of Pearson. He has won our CL group. Bringing in more coffers into the tin, and please do not start the group was poor, Porto are not poor. You talk about a business that could pack up in weeks, you are placing yoursellf in the catergory of being a meltdowner, a massive knee jerk reaction at this stage. If we were sitting on 13 point in another 8-10 games, then yes. But at this point absolutely no. Realistically we are where we thought we would be last season. On target to reach 40 points. I dont want to see him disposed of after 14 league games, why should I engage with debate with anyone who thinks otherwise When I read crap, about getting rid, who exactely would we bring and wheres the guaranteed success that 's when I state I said, people do not what they are talking about. Look at Bob Bradley. Ive heard Fat Sam, Ryan Giggs, Brendan Rodgers, Roy Hodgson, even Nigel Pearson all muted, no thank you, not 60's thinking thats modern day. Get rid if you have a replacement who is most assured of improving the results, I do not see anyone . Perhaps some low key up and coming unheard of foreign manager , but what a gamble that would be. At least you admitted you are a plum, talking about your own contraditions you started personal insults, really laughable. Dont feel shy about apologising.
simFox Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 My tinfoil 2c. Ranieri got over ridden on some transfer deals in the summer, he advised at the time why he needed those players but the owners wouldn't pay. Ranieri is now playing out a told you so scenario and the players are frustrated with his stubborn formation and approach. The owners don't want to sack him because they have a winning manager on a league winning wage.

foxfanazer Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 This will seem like an unfair stick to beat Claudio with and that's not my intention at all but......last season we didn't have a poor run of results at all meaning he never had to read the riot act on the players. Instead he built this friendly, jokey atmosphere around the club. This is wonderful when things are going well and everyone's playing to their maximum. When things aren't going so well has he got it in his locker to unleash the hairdryer treatment? This is where I have my doubts. I've seen the Pearson debate has crept back up and although it's typical FoxesTalk to look to the past when things are rough but it does raise some interesting thoughts. Whenever we were in a slump under NP I always felt he'd find the answers and make the big decisions no matter who it upset. Yes his persona in the media wasn't great but the majority of his players would run through brick walls for hI'm. He commanded respect and had a bit of a fear factor about him. Does CR command the same respect. He's a wonderful guy that's very likeable but is he too nice?
WardyisPukka Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Massive **** up by the owners claudio to an extent, scouts etc for not bringing in a new cm, a better back up keeper and especially a new centre back We are the chmapions of england and had champions league football to offer in the summer yet we signed relatively average players. My point is why the feck were we not trying to compete for players like mustafi, pereyra, benteke etc! we had the chance to really build on our success as a club and attract top players. This is the one thing that makes me angry! Massive massive missed opportunity - too buys handing out new contracts instead of buying real quality and building for the future

Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 The biggest issue is the unwillingness to try a different set up by Ranieri. I was chairman of a fairly substantial rugby club in Wales about 15 years ago and we had a talented group of players but there was something not right on the field and results were poor with relegation looming. The captain came to see me to say the players had little faith in the way they were instructed to play and were struggling to enjoy it or play well. He and several senior players had approached the coaches with their concerns but felt nothing changed. So we got an open meeting between them and the coaches and aired it all. Together we tweaked the game plan and the thing clicked. Results changed as the atmosphere changed too. Remember last season Wes was the gaffer for the players with Ranieri it seems? His personal poor performances might be inhibiting him from carrying out that role with credibility? Just some thoughts.

LJS Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 He stays even if he takes us down. I'm pretty sure he'll leave by choice if we do go down (and I think we are going down) but if he wants to stay to get us back up then I'll be supportive of that. I'm finding it hard to get upset about our current form. Yes, we look poor. And, again, I think we are going down. It doesn't bother me though. It will happen several more times before I die. Our natural posiiton is top end Championship and bottom end Premier League. That's fine by me. It gives us lots of variety and, as a fan, there are benefits to second tier football. More games for my money, more midweek evening games, easier access to aways, fewer morons in the ground. Obviously I spend years in the Championship longing for top flight football. Such is the curse of being a City fan. But I accept our lot, I'm happy with it, and I enjoy the variety. The fans who seem to be most upset by our current form are those who allowed themselves to believe that winning the title was an opportunity for the club to "push on". It never was. It's why last season was so brilliant. We had far from the best squad and it was an all or nothing season. It's amazing that we pulled it off. People look at our players now and struggle to understand how they can be so poor after last season. I look at the careers of our players and struggle to understand how they were so good, and just cherish that they were. All of the traditional top six spent more than us and, to be honest despite last season, already had better squads, man for man. We spent **** all really. £68m (much less relatively than the £28m Taylor spent ruining the O'Neill side) in total, £20ish million net. Peanuts. We didn't spend it on bad players either, we just strengthened in the wrong areas. We might go down, and if we do we might come up again. That's it, forever. It's what we do. Relegation really isn't the end of the world (even for the owners if they are truly as committed as they claim, and have banked the monies from the Premier League and Champions' League years sensibly). We'll still have a football club to watch. And not just any football club. Our football club, who won the league against all the odds in one of the greatest sporting achievements ever seen.
LJS Posted 8 December 2016 Posted 8 December 2016 Have I really just seen a post advocating the return of Martin O'Neill? Jesus Christ. Get rid of our best ever manager to swap him with our second or third best? That's mental. Not to mention that O'Neill is shit these days and the football we'd serve up under him would be dreadful. I mean we are serving up dreadful stuff now, but I'd hope if we are daft enough to make a change at all that we'd be doing it in order to bring in a manager who might get us playing some entertaining stuff.

Whats Big Nige doing now?! I'm sure the Thais have forgiven him! Honestly if you want a change and a discusion about it then make some good ones. CR deserves the chance to turn this run round.
