How much longer does Claudio get a pass?

he waited until the last week of the transfer window to really try and get one.

Nobody here knows, since when LCFC were in contact with Silva

(the club was targeting Slimani for more than 2 years).

Nobody here knows, who at the end decided, not to trigger Silva's 38.5m

release clause. But I doubt very much, that the manager has the last say in

financial matters.

I don't think it was any coincidence that Mendy got injured on 20th August and suddenly after several weeks of not being linked with a midfielder we bid for N'Zonzi and then Silva. It was reactionary to Mendy's injury even though we needed extra there already. Our management ballsed up.

Last season was a beautiful thing but you can't forgive the total capitulation since the summer.

You can paint a great painting but it's still ruined if you crouch over and take a massive shit on it.

Ranieri is crouching over last season's amazing achievement and taking a big, disgusting, steaming dump all over it.

He (and the club) failed to prepare for this season adequately and now they're paying the price.

Have to be careful here, won't mind if Ranieri goes as total lack of effort is so frustrating. Losing I can take, as long as team shows a bit of passion and fight for our club. Roy Hodgson statement saying he is ready to return as a coach, could go from bad to worse.

Claudio needs to rip into these players and not hold back. If we don't see any improvement over the Christmas period, in terms of performance and effort, then you have to wonder whether he has completely lost his influence in the dressing room, which would be quite remarkable in such a short space of time, and what we achieved last season. Worrying times!

About 40 minutes, 25 seconds + stoppage time.

This is horrible, a great, entertaining man who gave us such an incredible season and never to be forgotten day in May possibly having calls for his head six months later.

I really hope he can turn it around because I just don't want to witness the demise.

if it keeps going on like it is, he'll be gone by Feb i think

If it keeps going like this...as in we look NOTHING..he needs to go earlier than Feb IMO. If the Thais are going to bite the bullet, do it, and give the next man the transfer window.

So disappointing. I love Ranieri and so wish we can turn this rubbish around.

i agree with you but im thinking in terms of what the owners would do,

needs something, as we looks pretty gutless and spineless tbh, and for most of the season

Possibly the first time I've ever agreed with you.

If Hodgson takes over at 3 million a season, I'm over.

Claudio is a god but even gods have their day.

I can't believe he is the tinkerman but then doesn't make the obvious changes.

He said something interesting the other day in terms of the Ndidi transfer that he was only the coach. Possibly these are not his players. Musa, Hernandez and co are clearly not up to the mark

Mummerings the players are confused on the training ground, disgruntled tweets, shoot me now but I'd say he's lost the dressing room.

If Hodgson takes over then I'm done. **** that shit.

I'd rather sit at home and watch ****ing Schindlers List at 3pm every Saturday than that boring old cvnt managing our club.

Tbh I'm considering doing that from now on anyway. I can't believe how terrible we've been all season.

There'd be a silver lining then.

Well, since our best ever midfielder left last season, and our out-of-the-world chief scout and assistant coach left three months after singing a new contract, he was crippled from the start.

And our replacement for our N'golo was injured from the start. And our other replacement turned out to be rather poor.

Add to that we knackered our other main midfielder who then got banned for three matches. And this is not to mention the reason our centre backs success depended on N'golo clearing up anything that got near them.

This all equalled a team that had a very poor midfield, and whose centre backs were hardly great, in addition to being crippled by new rules in the premiership: basically teams could get back our strikers, and head happily down the centre of the park to our goal.

How could Claudio have prevented this? N'golo release clause stopped him from doing anything much there. He could not have prevented Mendy's injury. And I don't think he was the reason we signed Amartey.

You could definitely critise him for not splashing out the cash for a new defensive midfielder, but then it's hard to know how much of that was his fault. He could have perhaps rested Drinky, maybe preventing his violent outburst which could have resulted from tiredness. He could have perhaps changed formation quicker, but that said every time we tried something new last season we sucked.

As soon as Drinky and Mendy are playing together then we should be half decent again. I'd wait until then before judging him. (That said, keeping Chilwell on against Port after ****ing up resulting in two of the goals at least seems indefensible...)

This makes the performance on Saturday massive for Claudio, doesn't it?

Not the result, necessarily, but the performance. He absolutely needs his team to be seriously committed and in contention on Saturday or, unbelievably he might get his P45 ....6 months after winning the title! :o

A series of bad autumn results/performances, he can get away with.

A horrendous defeat in a dead rubber in Europe he can get away with.

If they're half-hearted and inept v. Man City as well, I'm not sure he can get away with that....

My view is simple - no-one can ever take last season away from us but football will always be about the present.

And I'm not seeing a manager who can see how to change and come up with something different. I get we've been unlucky losing Mendy and with one or two other injuries but it's his job to find a solution. There are signs that he believes if he sticks with this formation and side, it will come good - it's clear without Kante with can't operate without the ball like we did last year. Teams have neutralised us by sitting deeper, doubling up on mahrez and playing to our weaknesses.

We we had opportunities to sign players in the summer and continued to haggle endlessly in some cases - if we wanted Keane, for example, we should have just paid up.

I want Claudio to succeed but surely he needs to start trying something different - especially away from home. There are some players in our squad that really need to take a look at themselves and show a bit of fight to break into the first team - tonight was an opportunity for some and they looked lost. I agree it's to early to judge Musa entirely and we haven't played to his strength but he does turn into trouble an awful lot - almost runs away from the space.

I will say that Leo actually looked decent when he came on and maybe could be given a go!

The biggest concern for me tonight was Ranieri himself. Did anyone watch the game on BT? He did a very pleasant pre match interview where he essentially said two things.

1. We wanted to put on a performance tonight

2. He wanted to see which of the players he brought in were going to make him think about pushing for a first team spot

(or words to that effect)

And then we got that.........

What Ranieri is saying and what is actually happening are miles apart.

Worrying sign that.
