Collymore Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 This has definitely helped us out more than done us over. I remember this being very controversial when it first came in but it's so fair and and doesn't slow the game down at all. If anything it's sped it up as you don't have players surrounding the ref and officials for ages complaining either way. Since it's introduction does anybody know exactly how many times we've had goals decided using it? I think back to the DeLaet goal V Villa, wasn't it used then? You could argue we may have never won the League without it.
Guest Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 Should have been bright in years ago. It's great.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 Okazaki away to Villa too I believe. It was amusing when WBA scored in the game at theirs towards the end of the previous season and Cambiasso seemed to be disputing the goal-line technology decision.
orangecity23 Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 Shinji has profited from it on several occasions. The tech has been a roaring success imo, has made a completely mockery of some of the bell ends who claimed that officiating mistakes should be accepted as part of the game that makes it "more exciting". Done nothing but dramatically improve the sport, and if we get more technology in to take decision making out of the hands of incompetents such as Pawson or Moss, then all the better.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 It's proving to be paramount, there's been at least three occasions now that I can recall off the top of my head, where it's been very effective.
Fox96 Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 Pawson definitely wouldn't have given that today if it wasn't for goalline tech, he even looked a bit hesitant to give it when his alert thing did buzz!

He was probably thinking "does that mean goal or not goal again?" and "where am I?"
Matt Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 The referee did not want to give us that goal today. If it wasn't for goaline tech we'd have lost today. The **** of a ref was walking off, I was watching him, then he looked at his watch (and I can imagine him thinking 'Oh ****') then pointed to the centre circle. What a willy puller.
urban.spaceman Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 Can you imagine if De Laet's goal against Villa hadn't been allowed to stand? Villa might still be a Premier League side and we might not be Champions....
Koke Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 I bet Kasper Schmeichel wish there was goal line technology years ago in the Championship when he scored against Yeovil but it was given to Chris Wood.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 Involving us I can remember... Shinji vs Villa, Newcastle, and his two Chelsea goals. Rdl vs Villa Today Vardy vs City Wba goal from corner at Hawthorns in 14/15 Is that it? Definitely need goal line technology. And if it wasn't in use there is no way that **** of a lino would have ruled it over the line. Didn't give **** all during whole game
DB11 Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 We must be up there with the biggest beneficiaries of it
Aeropars Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 It's the one truly black and white element of football. Did it cross the line or not? Never a debate needed these days. The best decision football has had made in the last 50 years at least.

You can see the disappointment in his eyes that he had no choice but to allow the goal.
ZeGuy Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 Best thing since sliced bread. Don't care what happened before. The thing has to be standard in every competition.

Koke Posted 17 December 2016 Posted 17 December 2016 In hindsight, can't believe some people were actually against introducing goal line technology. It has improved the sport ten fold.

The only person really against it for so long was Blatter, but even he couldn't disagree with Lampard's goal against Germany in South Africa.
Red Squirrel Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 It is a complete success and justice is done and seen to be done in quick time Fans very happy that there is fair justice either for or against Football's reputation is enhanced NOW LETS HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE ON KEY REFEREE/ASSISTANTS DECISIONS THEY GET WRONG EVERY MATCH - EITHER BECAUSE OF A GENUINE MISTAKE OR INCOMPETENCE As Fans we would know there is transparency and fair play Football's reputation is enhanced
Aus Fox Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Have we hD it used against us yet? Can't think of one.
Buzzell Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 I'm surprised it took so long to get introduced to the game.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 18 December 2016 Posted 18 December 2016 Hitting the back of the net is so last year!
