Monsell1976 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Not this window, still can do a job off the bench, but assure him he can leave in the summer. This is about him wanting regular football, but he's shown he has a good attitude, so hope he'd agree to it.

I don't think we should, I think he as been just as good as Slimani who we pay 30 million for. A few clubs are after him like Hull, Swansea and Middlesbrough but he wants to leave. What do you think? Within what time frame? The last couple of games? Yeah he probably has been. Over the season our best striker has, undoubtedly, been Slimani.
CloudFox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Maybe I'm being sentimental, but I really don't want us to sell Leo just yet. He's a great impact player who has scored a number of important goals for us...and despite his lack of game time, he doesn't come across as resentful whatsoever. Have we forgotten his heroics as our top scorer the year we stayed up? He never really got a chance as the main striker after that, rightly or wrongly. He's a good PL striker, so why give ourselves more to do this window by needing to replace him?
st albans fox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 i don't imagine he is earning enough to just be happy sitting on the bench depending on slimani's exploits at the AFCON, suspect he may be off end jan
m4DD0gg Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Nope can see his goals keeping us up. Just depends whether we have burnt bridges with him as he a great asset coming off the bench. I thought he was a bit of a donkey and i guess he is but for 8m vs 30m on Donkey Kong himself.......
foxfanazer Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 From a business sense I'd sell but I think he's one of our best strikers so from a footballing sense I'd keep him
LittlethorpeFox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 1 hour ago, Gerard said: Yes. On the evidence so far we should have kept Ulloa and the £30m spent on Slimani. But Ulloa is 31 in the summer and will have 12 months left on his contract. He'll still only get a bit part as Slimani is ahead of him and if we can get £8m and him off the wage bill it makes good sense. He's had 168 mins of action in the PL this season which means he is surplus to requirements. If we had an offer of £8m and he leaves on a Bosman in 18 months thats £11m (with wages of £40k a week) he will cost the club. How much playing time will he get in the next 18 months to justify that? excellent post, couldn't agree more
LittlethorpeFox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 problem is selling to Swansea, Sunderland or Hull - he could end up sending us down old Leo!
weller54 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Can't afford to lose him when all our Nigerians go off in January!....

We shouldn't sell in January, especially to a rival Dafter than selling Moore & retaining Wasyl Oh come on!! I hope you are not serious. I know slim was bad against Everton and stoke. But, to say Leo is better then him is just outrageous. Slim has 5 goals and 4 assists( he leads the team in assists) in 1057 minutes. He is getting really bad service and playing out of position and not being played to his best attributes. Lets compare him to vardy (24 goals last season). He has 5 goals and 2 assists in in 1779 minutes. Don't forget slimani was the 7th goal scorer in the top leagues. If you feed him he will score. And for him to lead the team is assists says it all.

Are you having a laugh ?? Leo is by far and away better. Holds the ball up better, looks interested and looks like he wants to play for us. I have yet to see anything that justifies 29 million pound on Slimani. Slimani couldn't trap a bag of cement right now never mind a new premiership winter ball, he also was out of order rollicking Ben Chilwell on Saturday. What a pity he didnt run his b#lls off like Benny boy did for the cause.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 I'd keep personally, I've always rated Leo as a striker & person, his attitude has always been first class. However, the situation isn't good for both the club and Leo with this game time issue. He's a goalscorer though, and a very useful forward. He's scored some really important goals for us since signing in 2014.
NewEnglandFox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Selling Leo does not fill me with confidence with us so close to the relegation battle. He's battle tested and can win the crowd through his workrate. (His song alone already does that but I think it's a little to say a players song should be a reason to hold onto a player.)

He always gives 100℅. People that played with him called him a hard worker. He hits the ground running every game. He played bad the last few games. But his work rate is still amazing.
rn9013 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Personally I hope we don't sell. It's not as though the club need the money, and I think we need him in January. Even after January he is a very useful squad player. The only reason I would back a sale is if Ulloa has requested to move on. Ultimately if he is not happy with a squad role I suppose he should be free to talk to other clubs. As long as the transfer fee is at least what we paid.
Nick Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Yes but not to a relegation rival. He's been a tad hard done by at Leicester to some extent but is never going to start so needs to go elsewhere for the sake of his career.
dynamark Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 I doubt he is looking to move just yet on very very good money and not likely to join a top prem club and get that kind of deal. Possible end of season to get a cut of the deal and a regular start.

Moore fell off a cliff and could not hold a place down in the Championship.
Chico1958 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Only if it's part of a swap with Celtic's Dembele Or a younger hungrier player from the Championship..................... Don't sell him to a rival though
fuchsntf Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Ulloa will stay in my heart with happy memories. Now I would sell,1 for our sake and 2nd for his. I want and expect now better players in Jan.I didnt want it to come this far but we need not just players who can come into the 1st team immediately, but also to rebuild/add a fringe group of 3-5 quality players, we cant wait until the summer. Ulloa will release a wage and transferspot. If we cant grab another 2 forwards, hoping also to see Gray, and Kapu develope., then Ulloa stays until the summer. Then more game time My choice of players would be a rfb cover,2 CBs top quality. 2 midfielders top quality, 2 young CFs, one top notch, the other with potential. 80-100mil, might now be the needed layout.I dont just want to buy for survival, but next 2 seasons investment. Mahrez is a must stay. After this seasons performance , who goes from the rest of the squad, quite frankly its least of our/my worries. If a total rebuild from January and over Summer is deemed necessary, and wise investment is made, so be it !!
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 If he wants to go sell him. Our squad is way too big and a lot of dressing room problems are down to players not playing.... Get rid if he wants to go. Don't make the same mistake we did with mahrez and vardy. I think ulloa is useful as slimani, but we paid £30 mil for slim, so he is more likely to play even on current form. We need to get our spirit back and to do that, the squad needs to be trimmed down
filthyfox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Leo will go on the summer.... but until then will give his all as always.
KingKante Posted 30 December 2016 Posted 30 December 2016 Yes, Ive never moaned about a city player so much throughout his playing career for us, although he's been useful at times he really has been a donkey in that city shirt more often than not. Get him to Skegness beach!
