RT_FOX Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Do you think we should sell Ulloa? I don't think we should, I think he as been just as good as Slimani who we pay 30 million for. A few clubs are after him like Hull, Swansea and Middlesbrough but he wants to leave. What do you think?
lgfualol Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Not to a club in England. If China want to spend a bunch on him and he is happy to go at the end of Jan, then I think I'd be OK.
Kevinparr71 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 No if he wants too go sell him in the summer

RT_FOX Posted 29 December 2016 Author Posted 29 December 2016 But at the bottom I said WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Buzzell Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 No. He will become very useful coming off the bench and offers us something different. He always seems to score vital goals for us.
Ted Maul Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Been far better than Slimani, even in brief cameos. Challenges for and wins his fair share of headers, holds the ball up to give others the chance to join the attack and relieve pressure on the defence, knows when to come deep, knows when to get into the box and looks like scoring when he does. Basically everything Slimani is currently struggling to do. I'd be gutted if he left, he's more than good enough for a club in a relegation scrap.
Crinklyfox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Not unless he wants to go. He has the opportunity for more game time with AFCON coming up. He was third highest scorer for us behind Vardy and Mahrez last year which is notable as he didn't get anything like their amount of game time.
MPH Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 I don't think slimani has been that bad he has a 1 in 3 ratio for a striker but ulloa hasn't really done anything wrong either.. the trouble is that ulloa is at the age where he NEEDS to be playing regularly to maintain what he's got and yet Ranieri is likely to be under pressure, even if it's self inflicted to play the 30 million guy and the owners are business people they don't want to lose the value of slimani , yet, by benching him. They probably don't want to lose any more value on Ulloa and this is probably the last transfer window they will be able to get a good fee for him.. no one wants him to go, but that's football.
Gerard Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Yes. On the evidence so far we should have kept Ulloa and the £30m spent on Slimani. But Ulloa is 31 in the summer and will have 12 months left on his contract. He'll still only get a bit part as Slimani is ahead of him and if we can get £8m and him off the wage bill it makes good sense. He's had 168 mins of action in the PL this season which means he is surplus to requirements. If we had an offer of £8m and he leaves on a Bosman in 18 months thats £11m (with wages of £40k a week) he will cost the club. How much playing time will he get in the next 18 months to justify that?
filbertboy Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 No keep him ! I don't think there is £20m difference between him and Slimani ........keep Leo !
Soar Fox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Keep him. What we going to get for him £10m? Keep him until the summer then see what league we are in then. Can see Brighton wanting him back if they get promoted.
adejo92 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 No way should we sell. Yes he will want to leave but that is because he isnt getting regular football. He should be playing more often as i would argue he's the best striker we have at the minute.
yorkie1999 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Keep him, we're getting dangerously low on chants as it is.
themightyfin Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Should this not be in the Transfer thread about Leo?
cc_star Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 He's as good, if not better than Slimani. We shouldn't sell in January, especially to a rival Dafter than selling Moore & retaining Wasyl
VLC86 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Nope we shouldn't sell Leo, If anything if Sporting wanted Slim back for what we paid that would be a better deal.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Surely it depends on the offer. But as it has already been stated there is no point in retaining a player that is barely getting a kick and is only going to decrease in value. Only thing is the dreaded AFCON means we will be thin on the ground (I WILL MISS MUSA ESPECIALLY) next month.
TAFKA Castroneves Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 This is a tricky one, Leo is pretty dependable when he comes off the bench - we don't want to leave ourselves short incase of injury, but also can we (especially at this moment) trust he will be replaced adequately at what is a difficult time to do buisness? I'd prefer it if we could persuade him to give us to the end of the season and then re-evaluate everyone's situation, let's not forget if we do get relegated it will probably lead to names like Slimani, Mahrez and Vardy leaving, Leo's more than capable of 20 goals in the championship. If on the other hand we do stay up then teams like Brighton might be coming to the Prem - i'm sure one of his biggest moves would be potentially to head back there if they get up, he was very well thought of there and even recently i believe has been down to watch games.
dannythefox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 I think it's unfair to keep unhappy players but in this case I would ask him to stay till the season is over, we need him and he will get game time.
foxes21 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 If he leaves we need to sign another striker and they don't come cheap in January
Clever Fox Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 On current form he offers more than Slim. But he needs to play while Slim gets up to premiership speed. On the other hand if we can recoup his costs by selling then yes, But we must get in a replacement first.
KrefelderFox666 Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Ulloa is not someone I would keep as a starting XI striker but he is an impact player. The only times I see him perform is when he comes on and has something to prove. There is the odd exception. Stop comparing him to Slimani on Saturday, Slimani has shown what he can do in other games and he is only half a season in. Judge him in 12 months when he has had a full season. In summary, keep Ulloa, keep Slimani. For me Vardy and Okazaki/Slimani are first choice.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Has he openly said he wants to leave? I doubt he's happy at the lack of game time but I can't imagine he's one to be a ballbag, probably why he's one of my favourite players. Unfortunately I don't think he's quite up to where we should be aiming (top 8) as a starter but as an impact player he's still perfect to have around. No doubt in my mind he should be starting games at the moment, though. I'll be gutted when we inevitably let him go but I'd rather it be in the summer, if we get rid in January we get what we deserve.
crazyleicester Posted 29 December 2016 Posted 29 December 2016 Sell. He has done great for us but I really want us to use Musa in an advanced role when Vardy isnt playing or if we want two speed merchants up front. Slimani can do a lot of what Ulloa can and we have way too many options up front IMO. The timing will also be right as we can get 10m for a 30yo player.
