whats kante earning at chelsea?

i think we would have given him anything he wanted (at least if we knew how crap we'd be without him).

so i doubt its about money.......just didnt like it enough here.

Nigerian football fan here. You have got yourselves a very tidy player. Tall, fit, good work rate, composed on the ball... I think his physique means he will be able to handle the physical side of the EPL. He is a defender converted to play as a DM. Since he is so young, he may one day be converted again to play as an AM.

The only danger I see for Leicester is that every 2 years you will lose nearly half of your team to the AFCON with Ndidi, Musa, Armatey, Mahrez, and the Dragon Slayer going off to play for their countries at the AFCON. Still, there will be loads of banter in the Leicester changing room as Nigeria and Algeria are in the same World Cup qualifying group in Africa's "Group of Death"; along with Cameroon and Zambia (the European equivalent of having Germany, Spain, France, and Portugal in the same WCQ group).

150k at Chelsea. We offered 100k most likely. If we had offered him 150k, it probably still wouldn't have been enough but also would have meant that Vardy's agent would have been demanding the same, as well as Mahrez's and then you have the rest of the squad, many who are probably only on 30-50k, all demanding a lot more. There comes a point where you have to just accept a player wants to leave and even by matching a big club's wages, it still isn't enough and can actually cause a lot more harm than good.

Hoping N'didi can do a job there now, and probably for about 30-40k wages too :P

Add to that a signing on fee around 5 mill (I think that was about right) and there was no way he was staying here. He can say what he likes but with us in the champions league, it was all about money!

Chelsea are 1st and we are about 16th so who was right and who is wrong? (I'll give you a hint, Kante is right)

I don't think he came here as a stepping stone. He came here and showcased his outrageous ability for Leicester City, he gave his all every week. We couldn't keep hold of him while the big clubs wanted him.

He'll go on to win more Premier Leagues, he has a shout at Champions Leagues and European Championships and World Cups.

We can't compete with the that. We're still working our way up the food chain.

I don't think anybody isn't at least a bit accepting of the whole stepping stone thing. It is just a fact of life after all. I think what stings people is that for winning the league things might have ceased to be that way for us, at least temporarily. For all the guff about us breaking glass ceilings and sticking it to the big boys etc etc, we've now been slapped firmly back into place. Not that surprising that people are a little bitter about that.

When he made the decision he was neither right nor wrong.

Look the fact of the matter is if he hadn't left we would still be 1st and Chelsea would be max 2nd. The only difference is we'd be in the CL and they would not. We'd have been in with a real shot at the quadruple too. He dashed our only chance of sustained success for a few extra quid when giving us one more season would not have hurt anyone. He'd have got an even bigger move this summer.

N'golo Kante was here for 1 season one of the best places I've seen In 50 years of watching City.

Yes he he left us and I was sorry to see him go but how can anyone hold anything against him. He was part of a PREMIER LEAGUE WINNING TEAM.

That is something we should never forget and nobody should begrudge his move to Chelsea.

Remember the quality and 12 months we had him for. Also he had a buyout clause but wouldn't leave until we got the best deal possible.

He should be applauded when he comes here week on Saturday for what he did whilst here

I really really hope this is what happens! He deserves it, simple as that.

This thread is getting out of hand and a bit disrespectful to Ndidi that instead of celebrating his arrival on his thread all you cry babies are still going on about bloody Kante.  Let it go FFS!

Remember what I said about Musa 6 months ago:

"1) Lightning pace. He is one of the fastest players in world football today. He is probably faster than even Jamie Vardy.

2) Good dribbler and excellent close control. He is most dangerous if he is given space to run with the ball. Think Mahrez with 2 yards extra pace.

3) Nigeria (once again!) failed to qualify for the AFCON. This means he will not disappear for a month in January (and we will not be subjected to the usual spectacle of EPL managers whining about their shock and surprise that an African footballer has been called up to play for his country in a tournament which takes place every 2 years and which has been in the football calendar since before colour TV was invented).

THE BAD:

1) His final ball/crossing can be poor at times.

2) He can blow"hot and cold". He is just as likely to put a 30 yard screamer into the top corner, as he is to put it into row Z."

Song for Kante when we play them..

You're just a mid-get Ndidi....

Think we are getting the "cold" right now, but he has hardly played and when he has, it has been out of position or in a weakened team. Hoping to see him start on the left of a front 3 against Everton and be given a good 70-90 minutes, to hopefully show us a bit more and why we paid that fee for him. I have faith he will be a useful squad player, but think he is a little limited in how we can use him and get the best out of him

Trying not to get too excited about this signing! Hopefully he is given time to settle and become a really good player, but it's unrealistic to expect him to immediately transform our season. I've even resisted the temptation to compare him to that little fella who plays for Chelsea! Welcome and best of luck Wilfred!!
